Mind the Gap
(Author's Note: Written for The_Weekend_Write-In weekly prompt, "gap." A drabble this time, only 100 words not counting this note)

"Mind the gap when alighting from the train..."
"That's a machine," his big brother Jeff informed him, with a superior smile. "Not a real person."
"A machine? You mean a robot, like Sonny?" asked Eric, picturing an I-Robot type character sitting in the driver's cabin, driving the train and speaking into the microphone.
"Sure," agreed Jeff, grinning.
The train slid into the terminal and stopped. Eric stared eagerly as the driver left the cabin, looking all too human in his navy uniform. Eric's face fell in disappointment. Then the driver winked at him, eyes bright blue, before turning brown again.
