(Author's Note - written for The_Weekend_Write-in prompt "fall". I fell for this one!)

George stood on the lookout at Minyon Falls, peering down at the frothing, streaming water pounding into the depths below. Spray misted his face. He could see no sign of Eric, not even a sight of his blue jacket, but that had been a very long fall.

His heart was still pounding from the shock. He glanced around, looking for witnesses, but he was alone. His face fell as he realised Nat was already fleeing back along the path to the car. He turned to follow her, picking up his pace so that he didn't fall too far behind. The last thing he wanted was for Nat to take off without him and leave him to explain what had befallen her ex to the police when they arrived. 

George felt now, that he might have fallen a little too easily for Nat's charms, but that didn't mean he was prepared to be her fall guy.
