Going for a swim

Wooley knocked on the tent flap to the command office. Once he heard the go-ahead, he bound in. "Sir!"

Cody looked up from checking the report Obi-Wan was showing him. "What is wrong?"

"Commander!" Wooley squeaked, not realising both were within the tent; he blushed at the look he was given by said man.

"What do you need, Wooley?" Obi-Wan asked, placing the datapad on the table.

"So, we've finished the campaign and have time to spare," Wooley started, "just wondering whether you'd like to go swimming."

"Go swimming?" Obi-Wan questioned, elbowing Cody so the man would stop glaring.

"In your dragon form!" Wooley quickly corrected, "you spit water in your dragon form; maybe you're a water dragon! I bet it would be lovely to go for a swim, and the lake on the outskirts of our camp is large enough."

"You believe my dragon form would be good in this environment?" Obi-Wan questioned.

"You think the General wants to swim in dragon form in a swamp?"

"Now, Cody," Obi-Wan said, looking at Cody, "Wooley does offer good points. And it would be a good idea to have some time in the shift; I know you haven't since you first transformed."

"Great! I'll make sure everything is set up!" Wooley grinned, rushing out the tent before either could argue.

Cody growled. "We must finish our reports, not spend time splashing around."

Obi-Wan chuckled, "you always complain that I don't take enough breaks. The reports will be waiting for us when we get back from splashing around. We've taken care of all the pressing ones."

Cody sighed, shaking his head and placing his datapad on the table. "Fine."

-----

Obi-Wan looked around, making sure there was enough room before shifting. He tipped his head, curious, as he could suddenly see through what was previously murky water. "I can see."

Cody frowned, looking up at Obi-Wan. "I should hope you can see," he replied, ignoring the men's looks.

"No, I can see through the water; it is crystal clear," Obi-Wan clarified.

"Well, the water is murky, so only you can see through," Cody stated before moving so he could shift. Cody's head recoiled; the water had become clear. "What?"

Obi-Wan chuckled, "it's clear for you now?"

"Don't understand," Cody muttered, peering into the water.

"Best bet? Go with the flow," Obi-Wan said, moving forwards and into the water. He continued until he felt the edge drop off beneath him. Taking a deep breath, he dived under, noticing that the drop-off was steeper than he first thought.

Cody sighed, walking into the lake after Obi-Wan. Reaching the same point, Cody took a deep breath before diving under to follow Obi-Wan. He promptly swam back to the surface.

Obi-Wan frowned, heading up to the surface. "Is something wrong?" He asked, seeing how wide-eyed Cody was.

"You have webbing!" Cody blurted out.

"What?" Obi-Wan questioned, frowning. He looked down at his hand; he saw the extended flesh between them. Lifting his hand out of the water, he watched them fade into his scales.

"Your spines," Cody also said, eyeing Obi-Wan's hand cautiously.

Obi-Wan turned his head, eyes widening as he saw that the same webbing was formed between his spines. "Maybe Wooley was right about me being a water dragon."
Obi-Wan frowned as he got no reply from Cody. Looking at the man, he followed where the man was staring. He jolted, noticing that his tail had flattened out, making a paddle shape.

"...yeah, it seems Wooley was correct," Cody eventually muttered.

"Come on; we should probably swim before we freak out the vode," Obi-Wan said, side-glancing at the group of vode that had gathered across the shoreline.

Cody saw what Obi-Wan was looking at, so he nodded before heading back under the water.

-----

"Rex! Rex! Rex!" Ahsoka chirped, grabbing the man and moving him so he could see the two dragons in the lake, "we should swim in dragon form!"

"You want to swim because General Kenobi and Cody are," Rex pointed out.

"It looks like fun," Ahsoka grinned.

Rex sighed, looking over to where the two dragons had gone under the water. He scanned the camp before freezing as he saw Kix heading towards them. "Yeah, that does look like fun."
He pulled away, heading back into the tent to place away the datapad before shifting.

Ahsoka looked down at her feet, seeing the dragon form of Rex crouched at her feet. She chuckled, shifting and taking off after him as he ran towards the smaller swamp lakes.

Members of the 212th and 501st kept freezing as they tried not to step on the two commanding officers as they ran through the camp.

-----

Ahsoka sighed as her scales touched the cool mud at the water's edge. It settled an itch she didn't even know she had.

Rex peaked up from under the water when he realised Ahsoka wasn't chasing him anymore. Looking over, he fell over laughing when he saw that Ahsoka was rolling around in the mud.

-----

Obi-Wan looked around, seeing the fish swimming happily between the different rocks. He settled down into a gap, finding it slightly sandy.

Cody found a spot covered by rocks overhead; he settled down, filling the area nicely.

Obi-Wan looked around, seeing shoals of fish around him. His stomach growled, hunger causing him to lick his lips.

Cody's eyes widened. He tried to sign over to Obi-Wan.

Obi-Wan frowned; what did Cody mean by tongue bright? {Bright?}

Cody frowned, trying to think how to express that Obi-Wan's tongue was glowing. {Tongue illuminated}

Obi-Wan's eyebrow raised. He stuck out his tongue, his other eyebrow-raising in shock as he saw his tongue glowing in the water in front of him—ignoring how long the tongue was.

Cody looked over, seeing the fish surrounding them. He looked back at Obi-Wan. {Catch food?}

Obi-Wan looked around at the fish. He knew some fish have glowing tongues to attract food to them. {Uncertian}

{Bet} Cody grinned. He settled further into his sheltered spot, staying out of view of the fish better.

Obi-Wan raised his eyebrows again. {Breathing?}

{If needed} Cody shrugged, looking up at the surface.

-----

Kix huffed as he watched the two commanding officers roll around in the mud.

"They're not getting onto the ship covered in mud," Anakin said, looking at his Padawan and Captain playing in the mud.

Kix's eyes widened in glee. "They'll have to be cleaned before they get on then."

Anakin side-eyed Kix before backing away.

-----

Rex tried to grab onto the dirt beneath him as he felt Fives pick him up, his claws slicing it apart. He tried to scramble away but found his feet touching air instead of the ground.
He heard Ahsoka squeal, seeing that Echo had gotten hold of her.

Kix waited until the two troopers had gotten hold of the pair of commanding officers solidly before turning on the hose, hearing squeals from all four of them.

Ahsoka tried to twist herself out of the water spray, but Echo had too much of a hold on her. She sighed, flopping into Echo's grip while the mud was rinsed.

Rex struggled, using his wing to stop the water from hitting him in the face. He glanced over at Ahsoka, seeking her flopped and sulking in Echo's arm. He spluttered as his wing was moved away from his face. He sighed, relaxing in Fives' grip when he realised resistance was futile.

Kix nodded, turning off the flow of water when he deemed the two clean enough. "There, we don't have to worry about getting mud over the ships," Kix stated, motioning for the two to place down the Commanding officers.

Ahsoka sighed, stretching herself, before jumping in surprise at the feathers that now coated her.
They formed over the front half of her wings, in front of her horns, a line between the horns coming down to just under her now feather ears. She also had them on her front elbows and her rear ankles.

Rex stared at Ahsoka in shock.

"Well, that's different," Fives noted, jolting as Echo hit him behind his head.

Rex shifted, stretching his shoulders. "That was mean," Rex huffed.

Kix smirked, "the General said no getting onto the ship that muddy."

Ahsoka shifted back. "Did you have to restrain us?"

"You would have run the moment I turned on the water," Kix pointed out. "Now, I want to know why you have changed."

"The mud felt amazing, getting rid of an itch I didn't even know I had," Ahsoka said.

"Like helping you find your true form?" Echo questioned.

"Maybe, let's see what happened to Master Kenobi."

-----

Cody watched as the giant fish approached Obi-Wan's mouth.

Obi-Wan waited until the fish almost touched his mouth before snapping his jaws closed, trapping the fish and spooking every other fish nearby.
Obi-Wan grinned around the fish as he looked over at Cody.

Cody grinned back at Obi-Wan as the dragon held the fish in his mouth. {Eat it?}

Obi-Wan's head recoiled. {What?}

Cody poked the fish. {Dead, eat?}

Obi-Wan frowned. {Maybe?}

Cody grinned. {Bet}

-----

Cody stared at Obi-Wan, wide-eyed.

Obi-Wan licked his lips, humming thoughtfully. {Not bad}

{Not bad?} Cody could not believe that Obi-Wan ate the fish.

Obi-Wan nodded. {Good}

Cody huffed, rolling his eyes.

Obi-Wan chuckled before pausing. {Anakin, retreat}

{Force bond?} Cody questioned.

Obi-Wan nodded. {Affirmative}

-----

Anakin stood by the water's edge, waiting for Obi-Wan to return to the surface. In the distance, he saw a blue shape surface followed by a gold shape. He watched as the two swam towards him.
His eyebrows raised as he saw the webbing between the spines on Obi-Wan's back.

Obi-Wan grumbled as Cody continued to laugh. "You dared me to eat it," he muttered.

"I didn't realise you'd do it!" Cody defended between his laughs. "Nor did I realise that you'd enjoy the taste of raw fish."

"Well, we did think I was a water dragon," Obi-Wan pointed out, "this probably proves it."

"Why do you have webbing between your fins?" Anakin asked as the two reached the shore.

Obi-Wan waited until he was utterly out of the water before shifting, thankful that his clothing wasn't wet because of the swim. "We believe that my shift is a water dragon. The webbing formed once I submerged myself underwater."

"Like you unlocked the rest of your form?" Anakin suggested.

"Maybe," Obi-Wan said.

"Snips had something similar; she has more feathers on her dragon form now," Anakin said.

"So the environment helped two of us unlock further appearances and abilities," Cody stated, "maybe the rest of us need a different environment?"

"That does seem possible."
