Chapter 15

Remy Hayes and his brother Elliot had a lot of money. Elliot was a hard line judge who loved to sentence minorities to the maximum prison sentences he could, while his brother Remy lined the family's fortune with a chain of pediatrician's offices. Evidently, he took care of kids during the day, and then went and abused young women in the evening. Charming. Their boat was a 40 foot yacht that was called the Judgement Daze, maybe as a joke of some sort, and I hated them both just reading the bio that Joe and Petra had put together for me. They were also my number one choice for boat stealing.

I liked that it was a big boat with room for Lexie, Willow, and Bella, and I liked that those assholes would lose their boat, because I was gonna sink that fucker when I was done.

But first I had to steal it, and I guess since we were trying to do good on this night, karma was on our side. I'd dropped into the water a bit south of the docks because it was a high end marina in Chicago with security and I couldn't just wander on down to the boats. I pumped my legs, my flippers letting me glide effortlessly through the black water as I swam quietly towards the boat's berth. It was already dark, but it was plain to see that the boat wasn't there. I could only sigh in disappointment, and head towards the second boat, that of an investment broker who dabbled in embezzlement named David Houghton.

But of course, his boat wasn't there either. Knowing my luck, they were both at the club. I didn't want to waste another day finding a boat, but I didn't have a choice. I started my swim back to shore, when a big ass yacht came motoring into dock. With karma on my side, it was the good old Judgment Daze, and I swam under their dock as they were pulling up. Listening to the brothers talk, I was very happy that I got there in time. Not just because they were pigs that were now going to die, but because it meant I didn't need to hotwire the boat, since they had the key.

"Do you think that blonde will still be there next weekend?" I heard one of them ask.

"I hope so! They get new girls in there all the time, so maybe you'll have more choices."

I crept out of the water, pulling off my flippers, and leaving me in my rubber soled deck shoes. I pulled out one throwing knife out from a back sheath, along with a combat knife just to have my bases covered. I could hear them laughing up in the cockpit about something else that would no doubt make my anger erupt. I jumped lightly onto the boat, knowing it was so big that my weight wouldn't even be noticed since it was still bobbing about next to the docks. I didn't have to go anywhere now, I just waited near the bottom of the short staircase that led up to the cockpit, since they'd have to go right down it to get off the boat.

The good thing was that I didn't need either of these men to tell me anything, I already had all the information I needed. That meant that I could kill them with impunity, and not have to worry about keeping them alive for questioning. As strange as it seemed, that meant it was safer for me, because I didn't have to worry about disabling them, and giving them a chance to fight back. Killing was quicker and safer.

So, I did that.

"I'll get the lines!" one of them called to the other.

I didn't know which guy was which, but as soon as the one who would be getting the lines hit the bottom of the stairs, I wrapped my free arm around his face to cover his mouth, then pulled him away from the stairs so his brother wouldn't see anything. He let out a muffled squawk, but then I drove my combat knife up under his ribs, angled towards his heart. I kept the knife embedded within him as he struggled to free himself from my grasp, but that only did my job for me, driving the knife deeper and carving up his heart. He wasn't dead just yet, but he would be in seconds. It was a much faster death than he deserved.

"This is for the girls in the club, you fucker!" I whispered. I really hoped he was conscious enough to hear that.

"Elliot!" came a yell from up the stairs. "Hurry up with the lines!"

I guess I'd just killed the judge, and I was good with that. The doctor disgusted me even more. I let Elliot's body drop to the deck, deliberately letting it make a thud that would move his brother into coming to check up on him. I didn't have time to wait, the girls were waiting for me to pick them up!

"Are you okay Elliot?" Remy was at the top of the ladder now and sounding worried. This was good. I lifted Elliot's foot, then dropped it to make a little thud before going to stand in the corner behind the stairs. "Elliot!" he clambered down the stairs, gasping as he saw his brother laying lifeless on the deck.

It was really poor operational security, not checking his rear, but he could hardly be faulted since he was a doctor and didn't realize he was under attack. He caught on quick though, as soon as I grabbed him under the chin, pressing the edge of the blade into his throat. "Hey Remy." I felt him draw a breath to scream and clamped my hand over his mouth. "Don't make a damned sound. Nod if you understand."

He nodded, and I decided that while I didn't need the information, it wouldn't hurt. "I'm going to ask a few questions about the club you were just at, and if you give me the right answers, you might make it off this boat. Nod if you want to answer, otherwise I can kill you right now." This time it was a frantic nod that almost had him cut his own throat.

"Are members staying at the club?" a nod. "Do the girls have their own rooms?" Another nod. "Are the girls in an area to themselves? Or a floor?" More nodding. I slipped my hand off his mouth. "Explain."

"They're all on the third floor. Members have some rooms for rent on the second, and sometimes have a girl there with them," he answered with a whimpering whisper.

"How many girls?"

"I don't know! Maybe 30 or 40?"

"Okay, I only have one more question. How many of the girls trapped in there used to be your patients?" I had a feeling there would be a few, because he was a sick fuck and had access to sensitive information about them as their doctor. He just stood still, not answering. "I guess that answers my question. You treat them when they're little, watch them grow up, help them get put in there and abuse them?"

He was sniffling now and started to cry. "I'm so sorry!"

"You certainly are. But I have a secret, I'm going to free all those girls tonight, and then I'm going to let the entire world know what kind of person that you and your brother were." I dragged the knife point down over his chest to his guts. "Not that you'll see that." I gave him two quick jabs with the knife, puncturing both his lungs before shoving him on top of his brother. He tried to draw a breath to scream, but all he could do was gurgle. I didn't wait for him to die. I just jogged up the stairs to the cockpit and started up the yacht with the keys that were still in the ignition. I slowly backed out of the berth and headed south along the shoreline.

This late, there wasn't much traffic on the water, and the girls were waiting for me at a small wharf that was attached to an empty warehouse. I couldn't see them, but they could see the big yacht headed their way, and one of them started to wave a flashlight in my direction. I slowed the big vessel, easing it into the dock. It wasn't stable, but I didn't need it to be as this would be a quick stop.

I brought the yacht to a stop, leaving it bobbing gently against the wharf, and ran down the stairs, shoving Elliot and Remy against the wall. I hoped the girls had strong stomachs until I could move them to someplace out of sight! The blood would stay though, as that was still everywhere. I jogged out to the deck, tossing the bow line to Willow to make sure the boat didn't drift off. The water was calm, so it wasn't likely, but I wasn't taking chances.

"You made it!" Lexie said happily, pulling me into a hug as I hopped over to the wharf.

"I did. Now let's get everyone aboard, and then we can get on our way. But stay on the rear deck please." I held her hand as I guided her aboard, and then Bella next. "Let me get the cases on and then you're next," I told Willow, getting a thumbs up in reply. This had always been the plan, but it didn't hurt to remind them. Both Lexie and Willow had been in life and death situations as nurses, but I was still nervous. One at a time, I lifted the two bins aboard the rear deck of the yacht, carrying them into the cabin where the bodies were. I took 30 seconds to drag the bodies to the other stairwell and let them tumble down into the hallway to the cabins below. That would hopefully keep them out of the girls' sight.

With the bins aboard, I straddled the gap between the boat and the pier, holding my hand out to Willow, who took it and jumped nimbly aboard. The nice little Audi remained in the parking lot, where it would be picked up later if we didn't return this way in case of emergency. I liked that car and didn't want to lose it! We actually had another Audi parked near the club, this one an SQ8 RS SUV courtesy of Joe and Petra that would fit us all better. All our clothes were in the back of that vehicle now, as we were hoping that would be the getaway car. Where did Petra get the car? I had no idea, but I wasn't going to complain.

"Okay, are you ready to go do this?" I asked them all once we were ready to shove off.

They all shared a nervous look before nodding. It was time to go rescue some girls.
