3rd Person P.O.V.

Dream had a problem.

He was in love with his best friend.

George was a bit on the shorter side, with dark brown hair and eyes of cocoa swirls that melted the blond's heart every time. He had an accent that fell somewhere in the British category, although it was the most beautifully distinct accent Dream had ever heard. That voice could soothe his nerves in an instant.

Yes, Dream loved George, that much was obvious.

But that wasn't the problem. Out of some crazy twist of fate- some might say it was meant to be, their destinies written in the stars- George liked Dream back.

So what's the problem then? Everyone gets the happy ending they deserve.

Except... there was a bit of a hiccup. As much as Dream loved George (and it was a whole lot), he couldn't help but feel frustrated at how hesitant the brunette was.

George must've been the most inexperienced, unsure person Dream had ever met. It wasn't a bad thing, of course, everyone should make their own choices about that. Dream was just desperate, for the simplest of things.

A kiss.

Dream and George had been dating for nearly four months now, and they still hadn't kissed. People were starting to doubt their relationship, and honestly? So was Dream. He just wanted something from the Brit, something to keep his faith in their relationship.

It wasn't that Dream wanted to use George, not at all. He was just a very touchy person- it was his love language. And he wasn't feeling loved right now.

He always pushed it aside, because pressuring George into something he wasn't ready for wasn't what Dream wanted. He wanted their first kiss to be perfect, with George just as into it as he is.

The more time went on, the less hopeful Dream was. George didn't even cuddle with him that often, and Dream feared that the brunette didn't love him.

But George? George was just as nervous and unsure as Dream was.

He had never done anything like this before, not with a girl, and certainly not with a boy. He hadn't had his first kiss yet, and he was a bit scared of what it would be like. More specifically, he was more afraid of what he would be like.

What if he was a bad kisser, and Dream wanted to break up? Or what if Dream pushed him away? What if their relationship would never go any further than what it was? George and Dream barely did any couple things together, half the time George wouldn't even cuddle with the blond out of fear that Dream would think he was too clingy.

Oh, if only they knew what was going on in each other's heads.

"Dream? Can I talk to you about something?" George asked nervously, fidgeting with his hands. He couldn't bring himself to look the taller man in the eye.

"I need to talk to you about something too... but you can go first." Dream seemed upset, but George was too wrapped up in his own deep feelings of conflict to notice.

"Ok..." He let out a shaky breath, pressing his lips into a thin line. "Um... could we maybe... could we try... can we..." He sighed, frustrated with himself.

"George."

"Sorry... I don't know how to say this..." Dream's expression fell, but he nodded.

"You want to break up," he finished. "I understand..."

"Wot?" George yelped, grabbing Dream's arm before the Floridian could walk away. "Wait, no, Dream..."

"Just leave me alone, George." Dream's voice was cold and numb. He tugged his arm out of George's grip, turning away so the brunette couldn't see the tears in his eyes.

"No! That's not- that's not what I was going to say!" He cried, slumping to his knees. "I wasn't- I don't- no..." George was crying now too, much more obvious than Dream's silent tears.

"Then what did you want?" Dream asked coldly, a slight waver in his voice giving him away.

"Dream I-" George stopped. He took a deep breath, squeezing his eyes shut and letting the words fall from his lips like word vomit. "Iwanttokissyou." George didn't open his eyes, instead sobbing quietly in the silence that hung between them.

Then, George felt something new, something he had been wishing to experience. He opened his eyes in shock, a small "mmph!" sound catching in his throat. Dream's lips were on his. Dream was kissing him.

George squeaked, closing his eyes and melting into the sweet kiss. This. This is what he had been needing in their relationship. They were the missing piece to each other's puzzle.

George pulled away first with a soft gasp, cheeks flushed pink. He stared at Dream, unable to form words, just staring with his jaw dropped.

"George? Georgieeeee," the blond wheezed softly, tapping George's nose playfully.

"Oh my god..."

"Yeah? Did you like it?" George blushed darker, shoulders scrunching a bit. "I'll take that as a yes," Dream said smugly.

"Yeah..." He looked up, making eye contact with the younger man. "Was I bad? I've never kissed anyone before..." Dream tilted his head, smiling softly.

"You weren't bad, sweetheart. But you get better with practice~" Their lips met once again, a little less tense between them this time. It was easy for them to become lost in each other, because as rocky as their relationship had been so far, they were still practically soulmates, made for each other- and each other only.

When they pulled apart this time, it was better coordinated, and George, high off their kiss(es), felt bold enough to sit in Dream's lap, leaning against the blond's chest with a content sigh.

Dream was stunned by the whole thing. He had expected this to go down much differently... but he was glad it didn't. He thanked his past self for letting George speak first. Now, he had his adorable boyfriend in his lap, yawning sleepily. This is what Dream had been craving, this sort of contact with George. This sort of intimacy that they both secretly needed, the moment that fixed their relationship.

Neither boy had a single doubt in their mind as they fell asleep together on the floor that night.

I was planning on taking that in a much different direction but im not mad about it

oh and in case you didn't get it (idk how obvious I made it) what Dream wanted to talk to George about was wanting to break up cause he felt unloved (but he never ended up telling George he wanted to break up since they kissed and he felt loved again (idek sis), he thought George was going to break up with him too but Dream never specifically told him he wanted to break up (does that make sense?? idk lol))

requests? (ik I haven't been doing them (rip) but I will eventually lmao I just only have my list of ideas when im at school since the building literally blocks signal and the wifi is shit)
