Chapter 43~The Dress!

Though it was getting to be closer to be time for her baby shower, Selena kept busy. She was working hard and she finally got the perfect dress done for Suzette's wedding day!

Suzette apparently approved of the dress so Selena was sewing the dress herself! Everyone was going to be impressed that she could create wedding attire now! It was a very hot day in Texas. Selena brushes her hair back out of her eyes as she worked.

Her mother took MJ's mom and sister out sight seeing in Houston for the afternoon. Michael was helping her father with office work. Then as she began to do more stitching the doorbell rang.

Selena turned down her radio before going to answer the door. There was Latoya at her door step once she answers it. She shakes hands with MJ's sister and allows her to come inside.

"Welcome! I think you arrived during the hottest day of the year here!" jokes Selena.

"I think I did to!" chuckles Latoya.

"Is this your first trip to Texas?" wonders Selena. Latoya shakes her head no.

"I have been to all fifty states." answers Latoya.

"Same here! I'm so happy you made it! This gives us a chance to chat before the others get back!" Selena points out to her. "Would you care for something to drink or eat?" offers Selena.

"No, I had lunch on the plane but thank you! What are you working on? MJ mentioned you make clothing to correct?" asks a curious Latoya.

"Oh yes, one of my passions in this life! I'm working on a new dress design would you like to see it?" Selena questions her.

"Why not! Sure!" agrees Latoya.
So Selena leads the way to the sun room where she was working on the beautiful dress. Latoya was quiet as she eyes the dress at every angle of it. Not saying a word if she liked it or not.

Causing Selena to be a little nervous!

"Wow! Just wow! This is a fantastic dress! It would be perfect for me! I'm going to be taking interviews along with model shots! You have to let me buy this dress from you as soon as it's done! I have to have this one! I love it!" gushes Latoya.

Selena winces.

"This is just a promo I can't give it away yet" lies Selena.

"Oh please! It's so beautiful!" begs Latoya. "I need a dress badly"

"I'm sorry but this is spoken for it's for my sister I can create one for you!" Selena finally says. Feeling badly.

Just then the others arrive back. Selena sighs with relief. They all greet Latoya hello. Selena wonders how she can't tell that it's a wedding dress. Or just likes the style maybe, was she doing something wrong?

Selena crossed her arms and looks over the dress. It could be a regular dress to. It was very elegant and classy. Selena could see why his sister liked the dress.

Now she was going to have to make another dress. Suzette didn't want anyone to have the dress. She wanted her own style. She might be upset if someone else had the dress too. Maybe Selena could change the style add another color on a dress for Latoya.

That would work!

"Hi sweetheart" Michael greets her with a kiss. "How did you enjoy meeting my other sister?" he asks her.

She explained everything to him. About the dress softly so no one could hear her. He nodded he agreed that Suze wanted her own dress that was like no one else's for the wedding day. And Latoya could have a different style.

"Just create one for my sister tell her your vision for her she loves praises she will be thrilled. So just create one for her and everyone will be happy" MJ says to her. Selena nods.

"I wish we had more time alone together. It's getting harder for me to travel now. The baby shower is coming, these dresses the shop plus planning another concert tour, the wedding! So much!" groans Selena.

He holds her and she rests her head on his shoulder for a moment. He kisses her forehead. She was happy to see everyone but now she craved time alone and time alone with him was all.

"I know sweetheart I am going to say something here. I have a very special surprise planned for you at the baby shower" he softly tells her.

"For me and the baby? That's so sweet of you!" gushes Selena happily.

"No just for you sweetie. You are going to love it! I promise you!" says MJ as he rubs her back.

"We find out at the next appointment what we will have! Do we want to know the sex of the baby?" wonders Selena.

"We could find out then tell everyone at the shower!" MJ reminds her.

"I love that idea! Let's do that!" she agrees.

"Alright then!" he chuckles.

"Selena we are heading home. I have to make dinner your dad will be home soon you all are invited to have dinner with us around seven tonight!" her mother says as she hugs Selena good bye.

"Thanks mom! I will be there" says Selena with a smile. "Doesn't anyone like my cooking?" she joked.

"You know I do I think your moms doing this to help keep you stress free" MJ reminds her.

"I think you are, right! I love moms cooking!" Selena tells him.

"Me to! What sounds good for lunch? I waited to eat with you, they all ate. I can make us something" he offers.

"I'm craving a sandwich and pickles on the side some Doritos to!" Selena tells him. "A club sandwich with the works!"

"You got it baby! Mine will be all veggies" he chuckles as they head to the kitchen ti make food. Selena's tummy growls reminding her it was time for lunch.

They make lunch together as everyone else talked in the other room. MJ's mom took a nap. After the food was made they did the dishes. MJ washed them she dried them and put them away.

Then they sat out on the back porch with music playing enjoying the sun outside and eating their lunch alone together. Talking and laughing. Having a fantastic time together.

She loved spending everyday with him. He made life so much better for her. She was grateful that he loved her so much. She could not have asked for a better soulmate.

Now she was curious to what MJ got her for a baby shower gift!
