Chapter 26~That's The Way Love Goes!

Selena was practicing for show that night. Dancing and twirling about on the dance floor. Michael was watching her from behind the stage. Energy was in the air to. Selena felt so happy. She had not felt this happy in such a long time. Michael made her happy.

Then once she was done she told her bandmates to go take a brake. She was tired from all the dancing. Sweat glistened off her forehead.

She grabs a towel backstage and wipes her brow off. Michael joins her side before he goes on stage to practice. He holds her close and kisses her cheek.

"Selena you will knock them dead tonight" her father praises her.

"You are back Selena. I never have saw you this happy in a long time" says her mother.

"Aw I feel great. I am back" agrees Selena with a nod.

Selena watches AB walk off with Chris who smiles sadly at her then wanders away. Her heart sinks a bit. She felt badly with the way things were going with Chris.

She never meant to hurt him. Not in anyway. And she wanted him to be as happy as she felt to. But that was not going to happen for a very long time to come.

"May you all excuse me for a bit?" Selena asks everyone as she goes to follow Chris back stage.

She just had to see how he was doing. She hated to see anyone hurting.

But when she went back stage soon she finds Chris talking to her sister Suzette.

"How are you holding up?" asks Suzette.

"I am great only because of you Suze" he answers.

He reaches out and touches her sister's cheek. Selena gasps a bit. Then hides from them before they could see her.

"She has no idea why I stayed huh?" teases Chris.

"She has no idea. It is best she thinks AB helped out" says Suzette. "I know in time it will not be a big deal but right now we can't tell anyone about this" warns Suzette.

"Well it happened when Selena was getting closer to Michael. I am sure she will not even care" says Chris.

"I think she will. So no one knows yet. But AB" warns Suzette.

"Fine!" sighs Chris.

"Stop pouting your face will stick like that" teases Suzette.

He leans in and kisses her sister. Selena's eyes grow wide. When? How? How long have they been seeing one another behind her back?

Had Chris been cheating on her? Her heat fumes with anger and confusion. She bolts out of there before they could see her there. She bumps into Michael.

"Hey you look like you have saw a ghost" he chuckles.
She was shaken up.

"What? Did you loose your best friend?" he teases.

"Mike can I tell you something and do not tell anyone else" begs Selena.

"Sure you know I can" answers Michael. He rubs her arm lightly.

"Chris is dating my sister" Selena mutters.

"What?" gasps Michael.

"They have been sneaking about. And he stayed for her" Selena tells him. "I caught them together back stage just now!"

"Are you angry with Suzette?" he wonders.

"How could she not tell me? I told her everything" sighs Selena.

"Huh?" says Michael.

"She knew about you. But she never tells me this?" grumbles Selena.

"She knows you care for Chris. She did not want to hurt you" points out Michael.

"I am hurt. And shocked" answers Selena.

"Do you want Chris back?" Michael worries softly.

Selena winces. She hugs him. "Oh no sweetheart no" she promises. "I love you. I am just stunned. What if that whole time he was cheating on me with my sister?" she says. "I can't believe him"

"I am so sorry Selena" answers Michael.

"Me to but at least I know now what kind of man Chris really is" mutters Selena.

Later that night Selena was supposed to hang out with Suzette. She cancels at the last moment. And hangs out in her hotel room. Avoiding everyone. She did not know how to confront Chris and Suzette. Someone knocks on her door. AB stands there.

"Why did you bail on us during dinner sis? You okay?" he asks her.

"I know you know" answers Selena.

AB looks floored. He glances at the wall then her. "Oh you know? About Chris?"

"And Suzette. How long? How long?" she demands to know.

"Back when you pushed Chris away she was getting close to him. And they have always been good friends. Then he tried to take off when you broke up with him. Suzette admitted to her feelings begging Chris to stay was all. And they have not been seeing one another for long" AB rambles out to her.

"So they just began to date after I broke off the engagement" sighs Selena.

"Yes..." answers AB.

"I will talk to Suzette in private on my own" she warns him.

"Are you pissed?" he asks.

"I was shocked. I have no right to be mad. I dumped Chris. I am glad he stayed. This could be a good thing" Selena softly says.

"Yes it could be a good thing" agrees AB.

After they talk it was soon time for the show. And Selena had no time to talk to Suzette privately about Chris.

But when ever she looked she spotted Chris with her sister spending time alone with one another. How long? Was Chris hiding his feelings for her sister when they dated?

Selena could not help but wonder. She and Chris were not meant for one another. She knew now she made the right choice by choosing Michael.

Michael was her perfect match. Now there were no more doubts in her head. She felt even better about the choices she had made.
