"How is it possible that you post one, one picture, and you can start an Instagram war?" Nick asked. I only shrugged and smiled innocently. We both had woken up pretty early just to have twin time today. Something that's long over due. The last time we ever spent the whole day alone was before this dummy left for the tour. Which I am now on. In fact, the biggest reason I even came on this tour was to spend more time with Nick.
"Brooklyn? What's that on your finger?" he asked while nodding his head to my right hand.
"Nothing," I replied while taking my hand off the table and rested it on my lap. Nick took a sip of his coffee with his thinking face. One I've seen many times. He leaned back in his chair and looked me over. I played with the ring a few times and reminded myself that I wouldn't talk about Sky today. Harder than it sounds. But today is twin time. Just like it used to be. "Anyways, finish up the sandwich we've got a whole day to ourselves.
Ben's POV
"C'mon Sky," I said trying to get Sky to get out of bed. With it being our day off and Brooklyn having twin time with Nick, Josh and I thought it would be the perfect day to have some guy time. Something we haven't done since Sky got tied down with Brook. Now, don't get me wrong I love Brook like a sister. But, Sky is always with her, doing cute things together, or flirting, or even kissing. I love that Sky found someone I really do, but there is such a thing as too much.
"Brook's busy with twin time or that ever, which means it's guy time," Josh added.
Hope you have fun," Sky replied before getting up from the bed. He grabbed a slice of pizza from last tight and took a huge bite.
"Oh c'mon, it's our day off, you're not tied down to Brook, and laser tag has our names on it," I said trying to talk Sky into getting out of this slump.
"Like I said before, have fun." Sky made his way to the bed as he said, "If you need me I'll be here." he fell face first on the bed.
"You're always running around doing something cute together. Now's your chance to have fun, like the old days," I said happily. "Before any girls came around."
"We did have some pretty good times together," Josh said with a sigh. "We were the three musketeers." Josh slung an arm around me before he said, "Now it's just us Benji."
"You're being over dramatic," Sky said deadpanned.
"Now it's just the dynamic duo," I said sadly.
Sky groaned as he sat up asked, "You said laser tag, right?"
Brooklyn's POV
"Is there anything good playing?" I asked as I looked at the movies that were playing at the theater. That's when something caught my eye, "How about we go back to 1992?" I asked with a smirk.
It took Nick a few moments to figure it out. But once he did he smiled and nodded. "I'll buy the popcorn," he said. I smiled and nodded. After that we got our tickets, and snacks before heading into the theater. It wasn't that full. Yet, anyways.
"Hard to believe everyone called this movie a big fat flop," I said before stuffing a hand of a popcorn into my mouth. I swallowed hard before yelling, "To everyone who thought Newsies was a big fat flop you should suck it! It won two Tonys, made a bunch of tv appearances, and got a national tour!"
"You tell 'em gurl!" Someone yelled.
Nick and I looked at each other and laughed like two crazy people. "How long to do think it'll take the people here to realize that two Newsies are here?" Nick whispered in my ear.
"If we keep it up then I guess it'll be a very high chance," I whispered back.
"We?" Nick asked with a raised eyebrow,
I groaned and rolled my eyes before saying "If I keep it up." Nick got a very pleased look on his face. Which I shoved away. "Get that stupid look off your face boi."
"Sometimes I wonder how we're even twins," Nick said while shaking his head.
That's when an idea popped into my head. I smiled and rested my arm on his shoulder as I said, "You see Nicholas, after Mother Nature has taken its course with the birds and the bees, a little seed is planted into the ground and sometimes that seed will split into two and make two little flowers."
"Brooklyn, I'm only saying this because I love you. Never become a health teacher," Nick said in the most deadpanned voice ever.
"It's better than what happened in health class." I then had to shake the thought that was slowly creeping back into my head.
"Wasn't the shills budget so low that the football coach was the"
"I'd rather have the talk with dad," I said with a blank face.
"We did, right before senior prom," Nick reminded. We both looked at each other. I saw he had the same look he did when we got that talk. One we've both gotten many times. With me being a hopeless romantic and Nick being a typical girl crazy guy well...we've gotten that talk many times before.
"I don't think I even kissed my date goodnight and just ran right to my room," I thought out loud.
"I think I kissed mine. Then ran off to the car," Nick said.
"Now look at us," I said as I slung an arm around him. "We're both in happy relationships and things couldn't be more perfect."
"Speaking of relationships." I groaned, knowing what Nick wanted talk about. Why can't he just let this go. We're not supposed to be thinking about relationships, this is twin time.
"In 1899." Saved by the bell.
"Oh look at that the movie is starting," I whispered loudly.
"But Brook-"
"Shhh, it's rude to talk during a movie," I shushed Nick. He gave his "we'll talk later" face. But I ignored it and just took a hand full of popcorn.
The movie went on and when carrying the banner started I had almost forgotten how different the lyrics were from the broadway version. It was weird for me to be hearing something totally wrong from what I'm used too.
"How'd ya sleep Jack?" Aaron Lohr (Mush) asked.
"On my back, Mush," Christian Bale (Jack) replied deadpanned.
"Hey Nick, how come you're not that ripped," I asked while gesturing to the screen.
"Seriously sis?" Nick asked with a little annoyance in his voice. "I'm way more ripped then him."
"Oh really?" I asked in a sweet voice. "Since when?"
"For a long time now," Nick replied. "I have a six-pack."
"Yeah, a six-pack of donuts," I replied while laughing.
"Hey!" someone whispered yelled from behind us. Nick and I looked back to see some very angry looking girl say, "Motor mouths, zip it. I want to watch this before going to the show tonight." Nick and I looked at each other and snickered quietly as he faced the movie screen again. Oh, this girl has no idea that two newsies are sitting right in front of her. I wonder how long it'll take her to realize that. Well, this will be fun.
The movie went on and not gonna lie Nick and I were both singing along and acting out different lines. Some people were annoyed by it, and others were doing it right along with us. And no, nobody figured out there was two newsies watching the 1992 newsies right along with everyone else. Which was good.
