Chapter 22
The taste of fresh apples and cinnamon sugar lingered in her memories as Sophie daydreamed about the small bakery outing. Soonae's pastries were exceptionally delicious and the vast variety of apple baked goods that she offered was impressive to say the least.
Sophie blinked and gathered herself together, she was mentally drooling. She couldn't afford to waste time like this considering the workload that was placed on her after the mini tour. With the new promotions that were lined up for the next few months, the Japanese leg was nothing. There was even talk of doing a world tour after the upcoming North American sponsorships.
She grinned, glad that she was able to convince the board to include Canada along with the States. Having moved around the continent, she definitely preferred the northern country out of the two.
However, two gigantic countries proved to be a lot more work than she expected. With so many locations to choose for housing, venues and press conferences, and the added on pressure from the paparazzi and press in America, her role had expanded vastly. Honestly, she was feeling like butter spread too thin on a piece of toast.
Sophie shook her head, she was thinking about food again and she still had three hours on her shift.
She looked at the pile of papers on her desk, rummaging through the files to see if anything caught her eye. It wasn't ideal to be picky about what work she wanted to do, but maybe she could find something to keep her mind from wandering.
The files were pretty routine, and therefore boring. Just the same stuff for every city they were planning on visiting. Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Toronto and Vancouver. Those were the big ones, with multiple smaller day stops in between. Hotels and venues to book, press to deal with, transportation. It was all so boring. She had already spent the whole morning figuring out flights for the whole tour crew.
Food deliveries. Not exactly the most important thing on the list, but considering what she had been doing for the past couple minutes, it seemed appropriate to sort out now. The band wasn't very picky with their food, thankfully, but she wasn't sure about the staff's opinions on Western food quite yet.
She spun in her chair, looking down at the recommended list of restaurants that the staff had complied from past trips. There was an impressive amount of places listed, but most of them were Korean restaurants. Maybe it was just her, but when she traveled she enjoyed eating local food for the experience.
The phone interrupted her thoughts, and the agent reached behind her, not bothering to turn around; she had calls so often, her muscle memory was enough to get to the office phone.
"Hello, you've reached Ryu Sophie at BigHit Entertainment, how may I be of service?"
A female voice answered her, none of the sass lost across the phone, "Unnie, it's just Soohee."
"Ah Soohee!" Sophie exclaimed, "I thought you were another sponsorship. Why don't I have this number down for you?"
"The other number is my theater number," the younger girl replied, "I have to work too you know."
"Really? I wouldn't have guessed. Why'd you call?"
"Maybe I just wanted to hear the sound of your voice," Soohee joked, "No, I actually wanted to talk to you about something.
I heard you were looking for a doctor who could get you some asthma medication that you had taken in the States."
Sophie nodded, after the Japan incident she had been extra careful about the state of her lungs. With how humid the climate was here, she wasn't sure how well they would handle the upcoming winter.
"Yea I was, why do you ask?"
The background sound of the theater cuts into the call, "Well, my brother is a pulmonologist so you could have just called me."
"What? I didn't know that you had a brother let alone that he's a doctor."
"Yea, well I think he might be able to help you. Want me to give you his number so you can set up an appointment?"
Sophie smiled, "Yes please!"
The sunset colored the streets of Seoul beautifully, turning the reflection of buildings and windows a nice subtle orange. It really felt like the beginning of fall now. Sophie sighed, a small smile on her face, she couldn't believe it had been almost a year since she first started. It didn't seem like that long of a time, since there was only the Japanese tour but time had definitely passed.
She hadn't been sure of this impulsive decision at the beginning, after all she had thrown away everything and everyone, but now she could say it with all the confidence in the world. She knew she belonged here.

Sorry for the filler, but considering this took 3 months to update (whoops) I think that had it been a plot chapter I would have lost that point a long time ago. Anyways, I'm writing again now that I'm in school (strangely), so please look forward to the next part!
