Chapter 32- Aren't you happy now? (Corrupted Nightmare Multiverse)

Sun is tired of the adults in his life..but perhaps a certain Parasite may help?

——

Corrupted Nightmare Multiverse

The next few days were odd in Nightmares Castle. Sun was much quieter since the 'incident' and even asked to be held my Nightmare multiple times.

Cross was bewildered by the change but his Boss tried to reassure him it was just their magic getting settled and since he was in a similar state, they were latching onto him.

Cross was rather doubtful that was the issue, as Sun was much more passive then he was used to. They had stayed with them for over a month and they had never been this silent. Hell, he was even able to pick them up without a word and all they did was cuddle closer to him. He wasn't even being called 'Penguin' anymore! It was creepy .

He even saw Killer shiver when he was referred to as his real name. It was unnatural and this needed to be fixed. Deciding that no one else was going to do anything he grabbed them, where they were sitting on the sofa and took them to the library, as it was the most kid friendly room they had.

Boss had tried his best but Sun was like a bloodhound for dangerous objects and Killer might as well been the poster child for 'beings to keep away from children'.

Cross was twitching as they sat in the library, with Sun placidly sitting his lap with seemingly no issues. He started to talk, hoping to fill the strained silence and felt like it was hours before Sun finally spoke up.

" You can stop, you know "

Cross let out a breath of relief, glad they were at least talking now.

"Stop what?"

" Stop pretending to care. I already know "

Cross was baffled, as he had no idea what they were talking about. Sun let out a tired sigh before slowly explaining that he already knew his stalker had paid them to do this.

Cross would usually be a tad indignant at being talked to like he was an idiot but he was more focused on the stalker part.

"..i don't have any idea what you are talking about, Su-"

" STOP LYING! "

Cross snapped his mouth shut, warily staring at the golden tentacles that were sharpening and all directed at him. Thankfully they soon went limp, with Sun leaning back on him again, making Cross break out in a cold sweat. Maybe he wasnt the best person to confront Sun..

Sun grabbed Penguins hand and fiddled with it, feeling rather numb over the whole situation. He had grown to like this place and the inhabitants but of course his stalker had to ruin things like usual.

He should have known others wouldn't be nice to him without being paid to do so..or being terribly naive. He cursed at himself for forgetting the golden rule in his birth AU: 'Trust no one'.

He was unsure why the hurt more than usual but perhaps it had to do with stalker seemingly controlling all aspects of his life. At this point he saw no escape, so he might as well give up and let them do what they wanted. It's not like he had many other options.

"I never lied about caring"

Sun sighed and blankly looked up at Penguin, unsure why they were trying so hard to convince him.

" Cross, you can easily fake emotions. It's not like it's hard. It's even easier when you have a fully grown Guardian to help you do it "

"Why are you giving up?"

Sun was reluctantly impressed they noticed, mentally elevating his estimations of Penguins intelligence. They were just above Killer now, which wasn't the most impressive feat but still a solid start. Maybe there was hope for them yet.

" Stalker is rather determined to do what he wants. He has already changed my Code so it won't be long before he edits my personality "

Cross was horrified by this but tried to add a positive spin to this. There had to be a mistake as Boss hadn't told any of them about this 'deal'. Maybe Sun was mistaken?

"Y-Your corruption should help you resist any future changes. Depending how long you have had it it could even become a permanent part of yourself"

Sun hummed in acknowledgment at the small comfort but that still didn't change the facts. He was now in another role he wanted nothing to do with. Just another prison he had little hope of escaping.

He was 'lucky' the first time, with his Co-Guardian slaughtering the villagers meaning he no longer had to deal with pests everyday but now his role of 'stalkers child' was just as constricting.

Sun wasn't an idiot and he knew that his Co-Guardian was supposed to be his 'brother' but it felt like it was only a word. It didn't mean anything, so he played dumb, pretending he had no clue of their relation. It hurt much less that way, when he would watch what other siblings' interactions were like.

To be honest Sun is surprised he even had hoped things would ever change with how his life is going. Maybe he really was an idiot, just like all the other Positivity Guardians he had met.

AntiVoid

Sun wasn't shocked when stalker made a 'surprise' visit to take him home. He bet they were watching the whole time, which was confirmed when they gushed at how well he was using his corruption now.

He had come a long way with his magic and could now push it back, so he was in his passive form at last, which did surprise his stalker.

He made no protest when they picked him up to take them back to the AntiVoid and did not struggle when they hugged him for an obscenely long time. He was blank and waiting to see what they would do next.

404 shivered at how dull his child looked. They had been here for days and they hadn't once complained about anything he did. He even gave them food and they actually ate it for once! The most chilling part was the expressionless features and the monotone voice when they spoke.

He was growing worried and it finally reached a breaking point, when they didn't even react when he gave them a plush cat.

404 carefully picked them up and put them on the pile of pillows he had 'bought', before looking at them in indecision.

"I won't be long, sunshine..try and have a nap?"

He twitched as they instantly flopped down and closed their sockets, freaking him out about how compliant they were being. He needed to check in with the Nightmare he left them with to see if there were any issues, as this was unnatural. With one last look he created a portal to leave, hoping to have some luck soon.

The quiet of the AntiVoid persisted before a colourful cloud of magic appeared, with a multicoloured being appearing in its centre.

"..where am i? This place looks so unrad"

Fresh had only been trying to get away from Error, who just didn't apprected his artistic talent but it seems he took a wrong turn. His glasses switched to question marks, before he spotted a tiny body nearby.

He went over and poked the skeleton, feeling his instincts be drawn towards them. He leant closer and scented them, perking up when he realised what they were.

It was a baby parasite!..but what was it doing here? This would not do at all.

Lifting the baby parasite in his arms he frowned at their low magic. That just wouldn't do at all. He would need to find them some food soon! Who knows how long they have been stuck here.

"Don't you worry, little dude. I will help you out"

Parasites needed to stick together after all, especially the young. He Fresh Poofed away, thinking on who he should target next.
