Doctor David Samuels was closer than ever to a major breakthrough. He had been working on a dream serum that would allow him to bend reality according to his dreams.

This was the moment that he had been waiting for, after 2 years of trial and error he knew what he was missing. The slightest mistake could lead to failure and the stakes were never higher. But the doctor felt no fear. He only felt determination. The BT-74 would give him so much power and he would finally fix the mistakes of the past.

He grabbed vial 136 and 129. This is it he thought. He mixed them slowly and put them in the blast cooler. It took about 10 seconds. He pulled it out and immediately ran to the computer. Typing in the calculations, measurements, and results. He hit the scan button. Then he waited. It took about 20 minutes for the computer to completely analyze the information. But it was worth the wait when the screen turned green. Scan complete. Success.

"yes" he said quietly. Then louder "Yes!" Then he shouted "YES!!!". David stared at the picture of his late wife. "We did it Lori" he said. " We did it".

Bailey held both hands on the wheel of her blue Camry, driving through the dark, pounding rain towards home after coming from a movie at her friend Madi’s house.

She sighed and turned up the radio, humming along to the song on the radio, listening to soft thud of the rain on her rooftop. The light ahead turned yellow, and Bailey, slowed down to wait for green. The rain continued to pour as the light switched, and Bailey went forward.

The sound of a car horn made her look out the window, only to see headlights racing towards the passenger window through the dark.

The next was slow motion, the Silverado truck slammed into Bailey’s Camry, glass shattering as the blue car rolled with force to the side of the road and skidded to a halt, leaving glass and parts of tires in its wake.
