*tommy pov*
I skipped to school, excited to tell Tubbo that I was finally free after school. I was normally busy going to Techno's tournaments or Wilbur's mini shows so I never had time.

But today I did.

I saw him by our lockers - mine being above his - and we made eye contact. He lit up when he saw me.

"Tommy! Finally you're here!" He said when I reached him. I hugged him like I normally did, grabbing stuff out of my locker and we started walking to our first class we had together.

"I have some really good news!" I said. Tubbo looked over.

"Well spit it out! You know I get impatient!"

"I'm not busy after school!" I said, "That means that we can hang out at my place or something."

He looked at me and smiled brightly, which I returned, before raising his hand for a high five.

"We can do so much stuff like...."

His words dragged on as he named things and I couldn't be happier with Tubbo as my best friend. We sat down at our usual spot in the class, both of us now naming things.

The bell rang eventually, cutting us off. We kept smiling though, both excited about later.

The teacher came in, placing her books on the table and immediately turning to us.

"Okay class. Today we have a new student, he should be here soon. Please be nice to him and include him. We want to be welcoming." She said. Tubbo and I looked to each other and shrugged in sync.

Then class started.

*third person*
Class seemed to get slower and slower for Tommy, as if time was taunting him with the idea of hanging out with Tubbo later. Why couldn't time just be faster?

Finally class ended, Tommy and Tubbo jumping up. They really just wanted to get to class faster so it would be over sooner - meaning they'd be able to hangout quicker.

Tubbo stopped at the door, confusing Tommy, before he saw the other was just waving to the new kid. Tubbo quickly caught up again.

"Was that the new kid?" Tommy asked.

"Yeah, I just wanted to wave to him. He seems cool."

Tommy nodded, something inside him feeling upset. Why was he upset about it? Tubbo was only being nice. Whatever.

Not like Tubbo would leave him.

time skip brought to you by the fact that you matter :)

As school went on, Tubbo seemed more and more excited about the new kid. Tommy wasn't surprised, Tubbo loved talking to new people and he always was welcoming people.

Tommy wasn't going to stop him, he was just feeling left out already.

Nothing had happened, Tubbo was only waving and saying hello to the new kid - who's name he figured out was Ranboo from attendance. Weird name, but he wasn't one to judge.

Whatever. Tubbo's just being Tubbo.

And besides, he gets to hangout with Tubbo after school anyways! It'll make up for this lost feeling.

"Ready big man?!" Tommy exclaimed at their lockers after both of them locked the locks shut. Tubbo jumped up and nodded.

"I sure am, boss man!"

The two giggled as they left the school, talking loudly about everything they could do in the short amount of time they had on a school night.

Stupid curfew.

time skip wowow

Things went downhill quickly.

They hung out like Tommy said they could, and it was fun, don't get him wrong.

But he thought they would play Minecraft and add to their world they had together while loudly making jokes like normal.

No. Not that. It didn't happen.

Okay sure, they played Minecraft, but the only thing Tubbo wanted to build was a sign that said "Ranboo." Which didn't even make sense.

The two waved at each other! Twice! And Tubbo was acting far to buddy-buddy with him and Tommy didn't like it.

He didn't want to sound or be controlling, but he was scared of losing his one and only best friend. Well, that's a bit dramatic - he does have other friends, but they're all older and in a different part of the school.

So one day, he decided to ask Tubbo about it.

Maybe he shouldn't have..

another time skip sorry: after school, a few weeks later

Tommy nervously walked towards Tubbo, who was - surprise surprise - talking to Ranboo. It was like the tall kid was a God to Tubbo or something.

No wonder Tommy called him clingy.

He was seriously starting to feel left out. Wherever Tommy wanted to bring Tubbo, oh! Can't forget Ranboo for some reason.

He tried telling Tubbo a secret a few days ago, and got Tubbo to promise he wouldn't tell anyone - to which he said yes like usual. But guess who ended up knowing?

Yeah, Ranboo.

Again.

It sounds like Tommy hates him, which he doesn't! It's just a mild dislike for him.

But in all honesty Tommy really doesn't mind having one-on-one time with the kid. He's smart, stupidly funny and nice.

But just like Techno said, three is a crowd. This only proves his brother right.

He stopped in front of the two, waiting a solid five minutes before Tubbo even acknowledged his presence.

"Oh! Hi Tommy!" Tubbo said excitedly, "Do you need something?"

Tommy shuffled on his feet, and unusual action if you knew him well.

"I-I mean sorta but-"

"Toms I love you like a brother but if you have something to say, make it quick because Ranboo and I are going to the arcade."

Tommy froze.

"O-oh, sorry, but like..the arcade we usually go to?"

Tubbo nodded, "Mhm! Now, what's up."

Tommy only got more nervous. Now Tubbo was bringing Ranboo to their spot? Oh God..

"Oh, uh..I just thought I would let you know that I'm feeling a bit left out. You know how I am about communicating and stuff so-"

"How are you feeling left out? We always include you?" Tubbo asked, confused.

Tommy saw Ranboo hold up his finger slightly to retaliate at Tubbo's statement, but held back. Even Ranboo knew that wasn't true.

"Not really, Tubs. Like at lunch you guys talk and I'm just there, group work between the three of us turns into a partner project and me as the independent worker. It's just starting to..I dunno..bother me a bit?"

Tommy finished off nervously, awaiting what Tubbo had to say.

Tubbo knew Tommy liked to communicate about how he felt. He didn't want anything one sided or any issues. So he felt as if this was a normal thing between the two of them - communicating how he felt so things would be okay.

But he didn't think Tubbo would not like it.

"Really Tommy?" Tubbo said, sounding angry, "Why can't I just have other friends besides you? Ranboo and I are friends now and you just have to accept that my attention won't always be on you. You're not the spotlight of my life Tommy and I don't know why you can't see that now!"

Tubbo got louder as he spoke, attracting a teacher that was near them. It was Mr. Jacobs - Tommy's favourite teacher.

"Boys! Boys what's going on?" He asked, leaning down to their height - or more so Tommy and Tubbo's height.

"I- sorry.." Tommy said, glancing at the ground. He didn't mean to make a scene, he just wanted to talk.

"Sure you are, Tommy." Tubbo spat his name out like it was venomous. Tommy had never heard him like this before.

"Hey, hey okay Toby that's enough," Mr. Jacobs said, "Tubbo you can go home, along with you Ranboo,"

Ranboo looked relieved, glad to be out of this situation. Tommy felt bad for him.

"And Tommy, you can come with me."

Tommy nodded, fidgeting with his fingers while Tubbo and Ranboo left. Ranboo gave Tommy a weak smile, seemingly sorry. He didn't even do anything.

Mr. Jacobs waved Tommy over towards where his office was. Tommy nervously swallowed and followed.

Now it felt like he was in the wrong. Maybe he was anyways.

Mr. Jacobs motioned to a chair, silently telling him to sit in it as he sat in his office chair.

"So, Tommy," The older paused for a second, glancing at Tommy's facial expression, "Tell me what happened."

Tommy sighed.

"Well.."

time skip to tommy walking home :))

Tommy walked down the sidewalk, trying to swallow his tears down. He couldn't cry. He never did.

Big men don't cry.

He had explained everything to Mr. Jacobs the best he could. He felt like he wasn't even believable and that the teacher would just believe Tubbo anyways.

A lot of the teachers called bullshit on him anyways - he was loud, disruptive, he never did his work, he was late. He wasn't a good student.

He has walked passed the teachers lounge and a lot of the teachers normally were shit talking about him.

Especially Mrs. Terrance. She hated Tommy.

But he always noticed that Mr. Jacobs, Mr. Halo, Mr. Sam and Ms. Puffy always stood up for him. He wondered why a lot.

(Should I make a one shot of like an SMP elementary school- drop ideas plz lol)

He saw his house around the corner, so he stopped to breathe for a second. He wiped his eyes - determined to not look suspicious at all - and shook his hair to fall over his eyes a bit.

Great. It should be enough to hopefully not be suspicious.

He walked up to the door, fumbling with his house keys before unlocking it. He could hear the TV playing and Phil was having a semi-heated call with someone.

Tommy slipped his shoes off, letting his backpack fall off his shoulders and onto the ground. He figured he'd pick it up in a few minutes.

When he walked to the living room, he watched as his older brother Wilbur turned around quickly to smile at him.

"Hey Tommy!" He said happily, "How are you? How was your day?"

Tommy shrugged, knowing that if he even tried to speak, he'd break down and start crying.

Big men don't cry.

So he went back to grab his back and sped his way up the stairs to his room.

*wilbur's pov*
I was a bit confused when Tommy ignored me. He normally talked about his day then did his homework.

I'll check on him before dinner.

Techno walked into the room, looking around with a confused face.

"Where's Tommy?" He asked, sitting next to me.

"He went upstairs. He didn't even talk to me or anything. It was strange."

"Maybe he's tired?" Techno suggested. I shook my head.

"When Tommy's tired, he's clingy and he would've sat with us and begged to watch Up 'till he fell asleep."

"True.." Techno muttered, "Anyways, I'm gonna make dinner cause Phil's stuck on a call with a teacher of Tommy's called "Mrs. Terrance" who's apparently a giant ass."

I chuckled, watching as Techno walked to the kitchen to do as he said he would.

I figured that now would be a good time to go check on Tommy. The TV was getting boring anyways.

You can only watch so much of The Great British Bake-off.

I went up the stairs, looking at the second door on the left - Tommy's bright red bedroom door. I still wonder why he chose such a bright colour, but I mean, it's Tommy.

I walked up to the door and when I went to knock, I could hear sniffled and a few quiet sobs.

What?

*third person*
When Tommy had gotten up to his room and shut the door, he immediately broke down.

His room was his safe place and he knew he could silently cry to himself without the worry that his brothers or dad would hear him.

But he was wrong today.

As he was attempting to do his stupid social studies homework through his watering eyes and shaking hands, he heard a knock on his door.

"Tom? Are you alright? I came to check on you.."

It was Wilbur.

At this point, Tommy was craving affection and comfort from someone, even though he tried to push that feeling down to deal with it himself.

Tubbo was right, he needs to understand that he can have other friends.

But it's Wilbur. Wilbur gives the best hugs and has a strange way with words.

So with his mind made up, Tommy wiped his eyes again and stood up, moving to unlock his bedroom door.

Wilbur was on the other side, a concerned look on his face. When he saw Tommy, he looked heartbroken.

"Tommy? What happened?" He whispered, opening his arms as an invitation.

Tommy hesitated, but ended up making contact with Wilbur, breaking down again.

"Oh, Toms...what's going on.." Wilbur said, moving him and Tommy to enter the blonde's room, shutting the door with one arm.

Tommy didn't answer, continuing to cry. He held onto Wilbur's sweater tighter, digging his face into the fabric on his shoulder.

Wilbur didn't say anything else, just holding onto his little brother with confusion running through his veins.

He wondered if maybe someone was bullying him, or if he'd gotten a really bad grade and thought Phil would be mad - or maybe if he fell out with a friend.

He could only wonder.

It took Tommy around ten minutes to start speaking again and calm down - but Wilbur didn't care. As long as Tommy calmed down, he was okay with however long it took.

"Can you tell me what's going on, Tommy?" Wilbur asked once more, finally getting an answer.

"T-Tubbo started hanging out with the-the new kid. He's started ignor-ing me recently. I tried to-to talk to him ab-about it but he shouted at m-me."

Tommy couldn't keep talking, so he burst out into tears again, triggering Wilbur to run his hands through his blonde hair again.

"It's Tubbo's fault. You did nothin' wrong, nerd." A new voice spoke. Wilbur looked over to see Techno - which he smiled, relieved. Techno always had a different special way with words than Wilbur did.

Wilbur did poetry for fun - which Tommy always laughed at him for - so his words had a deeper meaning that you had to look for. When you understood it, it was normally really good advice that would stick with you.

Techno was just really good at reassuring people. No one knew how, considering how socially awkward he could be in some situations, but he was damn well at reassuring close friends and his family.

Techno closed the door with his foot, walking over to his brothers. Wilbur let go of Tommy so the kid could wipe his tears.

A red stained face and tear tracks on his cheeks was not a look that the older boys liked. Tommy was all-smiles, not all-frowns.

"Tubbo shouldn't have done what he did," Techno started again, putting a hand on Tommy's shoulder and leaning down to his height.

"He's just bein' mindless honestly. He doesn't know what he said hurt you, but he should've thought before he spoke. You know what I always say, right?"

Tommy nodded and sniffled, "Three's a crowd, so think before you speak."

Techno smiled a little and nodded, looking up to Wilbur - who was also smiling.

"Techno's right Tom. Just give Tubbo a week or so. If he doesn't actually apologize, him losing you is his loss. More for Tech and I, I guess."

Tommy laughed slightly, still feeling down from the thought of never having his Tubbo back.

Again, nothing truly against Ranboo, he just wanted some one-on-one time with his brunette best friend.

"O-okay," Tommy said, wiping his nose on his hand, "Thank you guys."

Wilbur smiled at him again, even Techno did as well, which was rare.

"I'm gonna go tell Dad we're gonna eat in my room instead. Want me to tell him why, or no?" Wilbur said, opening the door and standing in the doorframe.

"No thanks Wil." [to]

Wilbur left to do what he said he would, shutting the door behind him and calling out to their father.

Tommy sat down on his bed, looking down at the ground. He could hear Techno walk behind him and sit next to him. Neither of them said anything for a while before Techno broke the silence.

"I had somethin' like this happen to me when I was younger. Sorta around your age, as well."

Tommy looked up at him, seemingly not believing what he had said.

"Really?"

Techno nodded, "Mhm. Ya'know how Dream always used to come around here almost daily? You were probably like seven."

Tommy nodded, showing that he was following.

"Dream was my best friend, just like Tubbo is yours. Then, a new brunette came to our school - you might know him, his name's George,"

Tommy nodded once again.

"He and Dream started hangin' out more 'n more, then I was just.....a side friend to him," He said with a shrug. Tommy frowned slightly.

"I didn't have a best friend anymore and rightly I was pissed off. Now that's why Dream 'n I have this rivalry. I let him go though - and have met some of my best friends now - but he was still supposed to be my "best friend forever", yknow?"

Techno looked over at Tommy, seeing him already looking up. It wasn't often that Techno would open up like that, but it felt right - like a way he could truly relate to his younger brother and make him feel even slightly less alone.

"So Skeppy is one of your best friends?" Tommy said, remembering all the weeks that Skeppy would come over.

Techno laughed a bit, giving a small nod and looking down.

"You could say that, sure."

Tommy chuckled as well, leaning his head on Techno's shoulder. The other jumped slightly, but didn't bother to move.

Tommy smiled.

Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

Well, it would suck, definitely suck, but he had his brothers and dad. He would make it.

For now.

He can only go so long without his Tubbo, that's for sure.

End A/N: Woooo another one shot!!! Maybe Dadnoblade soon? Depends on when I start that. I might scrap this /p Dreamnap angst one shot I started. I'm just not getting it done. Unless you want me to post the unfinished version and then just slowly edit it and post the full thing (doubt I'll do that). Anyways, see you soon :))
