*third person*
Dream finally picked up all three of his loud, chaotic and annoying best friends. George - the oldest of them all - had practically forced all of them out of their houses to go camping.

Yes, camping.

Of all things he could've chosen, he chose temporarily living in a dark, massive forest for a week and a half. It's fine. Everything will be fine.

"Tommy you have to buckle. We won't leave until that happens." George said, glaring at the mentioned blonde from the passenger seat.

"But I'm so much cooler than you and I don't have to!" He argued back.

"You are literally seventeen. I'm twenty four. Buckle up." [g]

Tommy clicked his buckle together after that. Sometimes George scared him.

Sapnap and Dream started giggling at the interaction. Sapnap got a weak punch from Tommy next to him but it only served to make him laugh harder.

Soon enough all of them were laughing loudly. Maybe Dream had been overthinking this. It's going to be fun.

*time skip because*

They arrived at the campsite, all buzzing with excitement. They unpacked the massive tent that George definitely didn't need to buy - it could hold up to ten people. There were four of them.

"Anyone know how to set up a tent?" Dream asked.

Everyone stared at each other, hoping at least one of them knew how. Eventually, Tommy sighed and picked up the poles.

"I was hoping I wouldn't be doing this, because king's like me don't work hard," He sighed in fake annoyance, "I'll do it...but Sap is helping."

"Oh come on! Why not Dream? He only drove here!"

"Oh okay! Don't drag me into this!"

George watched as his friends argued. This would either be a great trip, annoying trip, or a trip all of them would hope to forget. He was hoping it was the first one.

*time skip again also because*

The friends sat in a circle on some logs. It was nighttime at this point and they had spent the day talking, laughing and playing games. It was overall a really fun and easy day. For dinner, surprisingly Dream cooked some hotdogs per Sapnap's request and no one could say no to hotdogs.

"Who knows how to start a fire?" The loud blonde [t] asked, shoving George back. They had spent all day having a shoving contest. It was always their thing but all lighthearted.

Sapnap raised his hand, "I do! I'll get some wood as well!" He announced, standing up.

Dream stopped him before he could walk any farther, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Be careful, Sap. Don't go too far either. We don't know this place super well."

Sapnap brushed him off causally, "I'll be fine. I'll keep our tent in my sight and I will grab a flashlight right now, too." He gave his best friend a smile and walked off to get the flashlight.

Dream sat back down with with two others again, smiling at their dumb normal antics.

Before they could blink, Sapnap returned with the wood, setting it up and lighting it with ease.

"Time to start the fire! Go on Sapnap! Arson!-"

"No no no no George this is not arson!" Dream said, laughing as George cheered.

*time skip aihidnekzhnakehxj*

Sapnap was the second person to wake up the next morning. He got knocked out by the fun that had happened the other day. His sides still hurt from laughing at all the stuff that went down as the sun set.

There was singing, sometimes funny dances, jokes, laughs, everything. It was the most fun he'd had in a while.

"Good morning, Sapnap!" Dream said from a camping chair. He had a mug in his hand that had steam coming out of it. There was a fire in front of the other so Sapnap assumed that Dream figured out how to make one.

"Morning," Sapnap muttered, exhaustion plain in his voice as he sat in the other seat, "Are George and Tom still asleep?"

Dream nodded. "Couldn't wake George up. He didn't budge. We all know what Tom would do if you tried to wake him up." He chuckled and shook his head. Sapnap nodded along, too tired to laugh.

The two continued talking until eventually Dream started cooking and the two others woke up. "Come and get breakfast guys! I made pancakes!"

The three others raced over to Dream at the sound - mainly smell - of the food. They each grabbed three pancakes and Tommy drowned his in syrup. The others giggled as he tried to balance the syrup and pancakes so they wouldn't fall.

"That is way too much, Tom! We're going to a lake later and you're going to be sick." George said, suddenly becoming fatherly.

Tommy rolled his eyes lightheartedly, "I'll be fine! As long as I wait thirty minutes before swimming I'll feel great!" He replied with lots of optimism.

They rolled their eyes at his weird logic but let it go anyway. The group ate their breakfasts, joking around like they normally would. There really was never a dull moment with them.

Dream, being the last one done, threw his plate in the fire, watching as it burned and shriveled to nothing.

"I'll be honest Dream, your eyes were glowing when that happened." George said, drinking water.

The mentioned man chuckled, "What can I say? I love fire." He then got up and went into the tent to grab his clothing and swimming shorts.

*time skip and we're gonna just keep going*

The friends made it to the giant lake. No one was there, which was good considering how loud and obnoxious they could be when in or around water.

They set all their stuff up, taking their shirts off to keep them dry. Sapnap dipped his foot in first, deciding it was too cold.

"Nuh-uh, no sir! Too cold!" He said, pushing Tommy in front of himself to "hide" from it. The blonde nearly lost his balance but used George as a sort of pole.

"Don't push me in!" George retaliated, twisting around as he tried to keep his balance and not fall off the rocks into the cold water.

A splash came from behind them, and they looked around. They were surprised when they saw Dream pop out from under the water. He shook his head, getting water all over them as he ran his fingers through his hair. He laughed - more so wheezed - and reached up to pull George in.

The twenty-four year old grumbled but let himself get pulled in. He shivered under the cold water, jumping up to get air when he ran out. He giggled afterwards, finding the cold water really refreshing after being cooped up at their campsite.

"It's refreshing!" He called out to the two others, "Jump in!"

Both boys grumbled, Tommy running and jumping in, causing an overly big splash. Sapnap slowly got in, making the process more painful. The three others played and splashed, making a giant ruckus.

Eventually Sapnap made it in, complaining as Tommy splashed him.

"Stop stop stop stop!" He shouted, splashing the blonde back just as aggressive.

"I wanna splash Sapnap!" Dream wheezed, attempting to run in the water over to the others - George following just as slow.

They all attacked Sapnap for hours, taking breaks until they decided they were done and tired. Or until Tommy complained about being "bored" and cold.

*time skip because once more*

They sat around the unlit fireplace, talking and joking around once again.

"We should make a fire," George suggested, stretching his arms over his head and yawning, "Who wants to get the wood?"

No one raised their hands. George huffed. "Actually, Sap got it last night, I say Tom goes tonight." He sent a smirk to the mentioned blonde.

Tommy groaned but he really wasn't as upset as he was showing. He really liked exploring so might as well take this time to explore, right?

"Whatever...I'll get the flashlight." He said, standing up and letting his blanket fall off of his shoulders. He shivered but ignored it.

"Please be safe, Tom," George said, "Don't get lost or explore too far. We can't lose you on the second tonight." He let out a worried chuckle.

Tommy rolled his eyes, mumbling something about "being the best" and how he could "never get lost ever."

The three others rolled their eyes, used to his dumb statements. He could definitely get lost very very fast. Hopefully the flashlight would be enough.

Five minutes after Tom had left, George excused himself to go to the washroom.

"Okay, just don't bump into Tom!" Sapnap joked, getting a harsh laugh from Dream, and a look from George. It didn't quite look like him.

"Heh, yeah. I won't." His voice sounded dark, but they laughed again anyway, assuming he was making a joke.

*tommy's pov*
I trudged my way through the dark forest, having loads of fun jumping over logs and stumps. I knew that if George came he would not be happy - but he isn't here so it's fine.

I had managed to at least find some good logs for the fire - which I was carrying like the strongest man.

I decided after a while that I had gathered enough wood. I turned around, looking for the path I was walking on.

Nothing was there.

I had lost my path.

My breathing quickened a bit, feeling very nervous suddenly. I controlled it to the best of my abilities.

'Retrace your steps.' I told myself, deciding to walk straight forward. That'll get me back, surely.

Walking forward, I tripped over branches and roots, not looking at my footing as I was holding a lot of logs. I decided, although stupid if I did make it back, that I would just leave the logs here.

Going on with my other idea, I dropped all the logs. My arms hurt, my heart was racing and my anxiety was spiking higher than usual.

"Why'd I have to agree?" I muttered to myself, "Also should've listened to George and them.." I sniffled, regretting my decision. At least I have a flashlight, right?

Before I could take another step, I heard a branch snap. I froze, holding my breath. It wasn't me who stepped down, and I knew it wasn't, as my knee was still bent and my foot hadn't touched the forest ground yet.

I heard a growl from behind me. My eyes widened as I realized what it was.

A wolf.

Or so I thought.

*third person*
It had been over twenty minutes since Tommy had left to get wood, and the adults were starting to get nervous.

George's hair was a mess as his hands kept playing with it as a calming mechanism and Sapnap was rambling on about every bad thing that could have possibly happened to their youngest friend. Dream was basically the only positive and sane one in this situation.

"He could've been mauled to death, or impaled by a branch when he jumped over it- or he got bit by a spider and it poisoned him so bad that he died in minutes. What if he-"

"Sapnap!" Dream interrupted, "Stop talking like that." He demanded.

Immediately, Sapnap got defensive. "Says you!? You're too calm whilst our youngest friend disappeared after entering the damn woods! We're lucky George isn't yapping as well right now! He'll pull all the hair off his skelp if he doesn't stop."

The dirty blonde looked up at their other brunette friend to see that Sapnap wasn't wrong - George was pacing back and forth, muttering words under his breath and yanking on his hair with his fingers before running his hands through it to fix it. It was a cycle.

As Sapnap went to calm down their friend, Dream tried to see if he could spot Tommy anywhere near the edge of the woods. He was out of luck rather quickly as George stopped him from going near them. He said he didn't want Dream missing as well - which is fair enough in this situation.

"Easier said than done right now, guys," George said after he was much calmer. "Let's just wait and see if he comes back. We all know Tom gets super distracted and maybe he's just having a lot of fun jumping over logs and stuff." He suggested.

Sapnap huffed and rolled his eyes, clearly not happy with what George was saying. "No way that's true. Screw it, I'm going to sleep. I can't stay awake knowing he's gone."

The two others watched as Sapnap went into the tent, zipping it shut aggressively. They tried to ignore it, but they could hear muffled crying.

"Well," Dream quietly started, "You can go and sleep with him now if you want, but I'm gonna stay out here for a while longer. Just in case, yknow, he actually does come back. I wouldn't want him alone."

George cleared his throat and nodded, giving Dream a hug - which was tightly reciprocated - before walking towards the tent that Sapnap had just entered.

The dirty blonde man sat down in the chair he was just in, sighing as he watched the forest edge.

"Come back, Tom. Please.."

*time skip because it's now sunny*

When Dream woke up, he groaned and shifted. Everything hurt, but it's what he gets for falling asleep on a camping chair.

He quickly remembered why he was outside and immediately started calling out.

"Tom! Tommy?! Please say you're back!"

His legs ached from the uncomfortable sleep, but he ignored it in favor of looking for his seventeen year old friend. From the only sounds being from rustling trees and his own breath and footsteps, he assumed Tommy wasn't back. Unfortunately.

Dream stopped, giving up on calling out. He slowly sank towards the grassy ground he was standing on.

What were Tommy's parents going to think? The one thing they made sure the three of them understood was to not let their son get hurt or lost. Now he's both.

Another set of footsteps made him look up. "Timmy?" He muttered hopefully.

"No, not Tom, it's just Sapnap. Sorry to disappoint." The brunette said, smiling down sadly at his friend who was on the ground. He helped Dream up. The look in his eyes asked 'any luck?'

Dream shook his head and sniffled. A quiet 'no' was heard from him. Sapnap sighed, reassuring his friend that things would be okay. Dream wasn't very convinced, but he nodded anyway.

Sapnap told his friend that he and George discussed ending the trip early. They would have to sign a missing persons report and hope their seventeen year old friend would show up or be found soon. Dream was very hesitant to leave, but ultimately decided that leaving would be the best option. He didn't want to be here anymore.

*big time skip than normal srry for the change*

It had been a year since the incident happened. George, Dream and Sapnap never forgot their friend, and frequently checked with the police for updates on Tommy. Nothing, but they kept their hope high.

They hadn't gone camping since, nor had they gone far away from their home town. The last thing they wanted to do was try to have fun like that again and make their friend group go from three, to two. It already went from four to three and sucked enough as is.

Tommy's parents were not happy. They yelled at the three of them for losing their boy, but they weren't going to yell back. A reaction like this was honestly expected.

His parents came to terms with what happened and asked for forgiveness for the way they acted. The boys easily forgave them, and even gave them updates on the case. The only updates were reassurances that the police were still looking.

There were no better updates.

There was no trace of Tommy even running away. They tracked his footsteps - that's how they found out that he did get distracted and lost his track - going off trail, but then they suddenly stopped. No nothing. Just gone.

No trail of blood. No sign he was dead - which was good, they supposed. The police guessed that if he did die, it was probably from dehydration or starvation.

It was hard, but they could only make it through one day at a time.

*it's been more time*

Three years. He was still gone. They assumed he was dead.

The police stopped his case. They said he probably died from lack of nutrition, and there was nothing else they could do because there wasn't enough evidence.

The boys - and Tommy's parents - still celebrated his birthday. He would be twenty. They knew he would like the little parties they set up for him.

George decided one day to go on a walk. He had started going on walks more frequently. No one mentioned it, but they were proud he was getting out more. He had a really tough time coping with Tommy's loss.

He said he took this trail. It had a really nice lake he would stop at to take a break and drink water. They were a bit off about the fact he had to drive there, but they let him do his thing.

George entered the forest again, inhaling deeply to take in the smell of wood and pine. He smiled.

As he walked deeper into the forest, he began looking. Since he knew what he was doing, he found it quickly.

Putting his hand on the wooden shack's door, his smile turned into a sinister grin when he heard sobbing.

"LET ME OUT PLEASE!"

"Not yet, Tommy, soon, I promise. I've brought you food. Your favourite."

He acted like he didn't hear Tommy beg for something other than human again.

End A/N: So. Uh. This was a school project that I started last year but didn't even finish cause I switched ideas. Anyway all I did for this was change the names, so sorry if there's a random name. Lemme know and I'll change it :) Have a great morning / afternoon / night <3
