I wasn't expecting her there. Nor did I expect her reaction. But what did she expect when she's been keeping me on the fence for so long? I care for Eanna, I do, but I couldn't keep waiting for her. Dovah was laying on her bed studying for her next test. I smiled; how lucky could I get with a girl like her?  A golden tailed serpent with long, curly dark brown hair, a rare beauty in my eyes.  Her bronze eyes caught me staring and she smirked. "What are you staring at, Woodall?" 

I coughed and took a sideways glance for a second. "What? Can I not admire my girlfriend without being questioned, Aurora?" We call each other by our middle names. She gave a small laugh and went back to her studies. I stretched my wings and looked at the time. "Shit... I gotta go, hun. The headmaster is gonna start looking through dorms soon." She sighed and nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow, Woodall." Grabbing my stuff, I kissed her forehead and left her dorm. 

It was a clear night, but the air hung thick and heavy. I walked down the dorm apartments and noticed a small girl on the other side. Her skin reflected the moonlight and made her eyes glow red. She didn't seem to notice me but continued to yell a name. "Eanna! Come onnnn; the headmaster is gonna start checking the dorms! EANNA!" 

I could feel the hairs on my neck stiffen. That girl was her roommate. I tried to avoid as much eye contact as possible. It didn't work. The girl noticed me and I could see her tail puff out. "Hey you!" she yelled at me. I looked up and saw her staring right at me. "Yeah, you. Have you seen Eanna? She's been missing since lunch." I shook my head and kept walking for my dorm. She let out a groan and kept going. 

Eanna was missing? I did notice her run away during lunch... I looked up at the moon trying to figure out where she would have gone. I stopped in my tracks when a thought came to me. Could... Could she have been so heartbroken she went to kill herself? No, no she wouldn't have, I thought to reassure myself. But I couldn't be sure. 

Walking up the steps to my dorm, something in the woods next to it rustled. I stopped and looked, trying to identify the cause.  I heard a muffled voice that hung heavy with sleep. A voice I'd recognize anywhere. Eanna.

"Damn what time is it? My head is killing me..." she said coming out of the shrubbery. She looked up and I saw her ears go back. Her eyes glazed over and hatred with a hint of despair showed in her eyes.

She started to go in the opposite direction of the dorm, head down, hair hiding her face. Without thinking, I flew in front of her, wings spread at full length blocking her path. She didn't flinch.

"Move..." Her voice was so quiet I barely heard her. She looked up at me and I saw a million tears she was holding back. "Move," she said stronger but her voice broke.

"You can't just avoid me forever..."

"Watch me." Her voice turn cold and she tried to step around me. I grabbed her arms and made her look at me.

"Hear me out E-"

"And why the fuck should i?" I winced as if those words were knives.

"Why are you being like this...?" She looked down and as she blinked tears rolled down. She didn't respond. Before I could stop myself, words spilled from my mouth. "I'm sorry, Kitten..."

Her gaze snapped back up at me and yanked her arms back. "You broke my heart and all you can say is sorry? Are you serious, Spurrier?! Am I a gameboy to you?! How... How could you do this...?" She sounded so furious; it was surprising when her tone dropped. Tears trailed furiously down her face as she stared at me. Lost for words, I stayed silent. She nodded, lowering her head. "That's what I thought."

She walked around me and headed to her dorm. I stayed looking at spot she was in. I brought my wings in and headed up the stairs. I sighed locking the door. What am I going to do...?
