It had been weeks since that dream, and I hadn't seen Spurrier anywhere. I kept my eye out for him, but he was nowhere. I sat in the mess hall next to Paiden, picking at my plate. Spurrier was constantly on my mind. I would wake up with anxiety attacks if he was in my dream that night. What's wrong with you, Eanna? Just give up already, I thought, putting my fork down.
Paiden shoved her elbow into my arm. "Isn't that the guy you were looking for?" she asked. I turned my head in the direction she was pointing. Oh, how I wish I didn't. I felt the color in my face drain as quick as a rain gutter on a stormy night. There he was, smiling in bliss, arms locked with another girl. Every string was plucked from my heart in a symphonious cord. I had no idea who she was, but I could feel jealousy overwhelm me.
She was a lot prettier than me. Her skin, hair, and eyes all beautiful shades of brown; something you'd see in a romantic novel. She wore a leather jacket and a My Hero Academia shirt with charcoal skinny jean skirt. She was a curvy thing, a nice hourglass shape. How long have they been talking? He never mentioned talking to someone to me.
Spurrier's eyes met mine for a second, and I knew I couldn't hide the hurt in them. I knew I couldn't hide the tears that were about to spill over. I quickly looked away knowing I was little too late. The first tear to spill over landed on my hand, and it burned the area it touched. All my insecurities for him had come true. My heart was aching, and I couldn't breathe.
As soon he had walked in was about the time as he left. I picked up my bag swiftly. I walked out of the mess hall and just walked. I didn't know where I was going nor what direction, but I just kept walking. I didn't pay attention to my surroundings and bumped into a bricked wall. When I looked up, I was in the woods; I had reached an edge of the campus. It had become dusk, and i didn't feel like walking back. I sunk to the mossy ground, my back to the bricks.
I felt my heart dip into despair. I wanted to continue crying but nothing sprang to my eyes. My whole body felt numb. I pulled out my phone and set an alarm to go off in an hour or so. Using my backpack as a pillow I just laid down. I let the noise of crickets and cicadas lull me into a dreamless sleep.

While Eanna was sleeping, her phone went off several times from Paiden and more from Spurrier. Paiden had kept her friend's attendance in the class they had after lunch but was surprised when she saw Eanna was not in their dorm. Paiden questioned herself if she should get the headmaster to search for her. She trusted that Eanna would come back sometime in the night. If so, then that was when Paiden would give her a scolding of a lifetime.
