It has been exactly a month since I bumped into Devin at an awkward time. However, we've been talking on the phone lately secretly from my parents. Never really expected to find out that a guy who is really popular talking to me like if I was starstruck or something, but... whatever. It's not like prom or anything is coming up and he would ask me. If so, what am I going to wear? Hah, I bet nothing but skinny jeans with a top and sneakers (Okay, not really but my mom would help me out). Such feelings have been running around my mind lately about Devin. I wonder why I feel like this... if so that I like him, he would've asked me out or something. Ugh, I hate having those fantasy dreams where they eventually end up being fake.

"Oh, Violet!" Mother shouts from downstairs.

"What mom! I am trying to think over my music right now." I responded rolling my eyes sarcastically from my bedroom.

"There's a guy downstairs who wants to see you. His name is Devin."

I quickly choked a bit on my chocolate chip cookie when I took a bite before my mother said his name. Then, I quickly changed to something cute but not too.. ew I guess?

"Coming mom!" I said trying to go down the stairs shyly and smiles when I saw Devin's face.

"Thank you for letting me see Violet, Mrs. Maroon." Said Devin with his most perfect dreamy smile that will take you away on a cloud and into the sunset.

"Anytime, Devin. If you ever want to take her out, you have my pleasure." Mother said with a pleasant polite smile.

"Hey, Devin. How are you?" I said walking over to him grabbing my hoodie sweater and my eyes looking at him.

"Doing pretty well if I must say, Vio" He said looking into my eyes and smiles, "Would you like to go out for a walk and a picnic in the park?"

I quickly blush slightly, but noticed my mom was still there watching what is going on and she smiles.

"Sure, let me get my sneakers." Finding  my purple Converse with black shoe laces and puts them on.

"Take your time. The food isn't going to run away on us." He joked and chuckled.

As soon as we head out the door, Devin tried to hold my hand but quickly made a quick remark by scratching the back of his head smiling at me. I looked at him shyly and smile at him.

"So, what is a pretty girl doing alone without help from your mom?" He asked.

"Well, I guess.. sometimes I rather be alone."

"You must say? Well, sometimes you need to get help in order to get further in life."

"Sometimes, I just need to be alone. I never really get to know what having an actual friend is like. Even if it was a guy who's my friend such as yourself." I said looking down at the ground while walking.

Suddenly, Devin grabbed my hand and I quickly stop to look at him. Then, he pulls me closer almost face to face. I felt my face warm up as he closes his eyes and leaned in slowly. I closed my eyes as well and we ended up having a kiss.

That moment was like sparks. Not just any kind though, but it was like the first Fourth of July you ever seen on a Farris wheel in an evening that was amazingly unforgettable. I felt like if I was in heaven by the sweet serenade.

Later, we ended up at the park having a picnic. There was the beautiful sunlight, flowers, cute snacks to munch on like tiny sandwiches, and fresh berries. Then, Devin took out his guitar and smiled.

"I never knew you played guitar." I said feeling hypnotized by his looks and his charms.

"Well, I do play guitar and I want to play a song for you that you may know." He said as he started to play a few chords that I can recognize.

"Hey, this is Secondhand Serenade's Broken?" I asked almost humming a bit and smiling.

"Yes, it is. Do you want to sing along with me?" Looking at me with his brown eyes being attractively magnetic.

"Yes! I would love to." I said as I began to sing along with him for a duet.

Not everyone has a perfect Cinderella story, but it just takes time for the most perfect moment to come. I finally discovered true love, happiness, and acceptance. I can't wait for another summer day with Devin and have the most great time in our life.
