In a recent dream, I was stuck in the middle of a world-wide flood.

Hooray.

Apparently, in the dream, something caused the oceans to start rapidly rising, submerging all coastal areas.

Then, underwater earthquakes caused massive tsunamis, which flooded and covered the Earth, leaving no survivors.

There was a little girl living with her parents that I watched in this dream.

Since her mom and dad knew that most of Earth's population was about to drown, probably including them, they, and a bunch of other parents, cryogenically froze their children, with hope that the children could survive the end of the world, and eventually live good lives on post-apocalypse Earth.

I guess this was like, the future. Thus, science.

I think that freezing people was really expensive or something, and that's why they froze their children instead of themselves.

The little girl screamed and sobbed as her parents said goodbye to her for the last time, before succumbing to her artifical icy slumber.

After sealing their children away, the parents braced themselves for their last living days, and for the oncoming disaster that would kill them all.

And then it came.

The water was dirty, filled with leaves, and silt, and rot. It wasn't water, but a deluge of decay and death.

When the flood water rose higher than the trees, and bodies writhed in breathless agony under the murky brown liquid, I knew that this was the end.

I (even though at first it seemed like I was but a spectator) couldn't breathe, water was filling up my lungs and no one was able to help me, or each other.

Then I woke up, a chill running down my spine.

That messed me up for a day or two.
