Transformation
Rory
I followed Silas into the house as sweat beads on my forehead. I wiped it away with the back of my hand. Ever since that jolt, I hadn't felt right.
Silas wrapped his arm around me and leaned into me. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," I said.
Dante arched his brow.
"You're lying," Silas said.
I squinted my eyes, trying to focus on Silas's mouth. His lips were moving, but I couldn't hear him over the ringing in my ears. I tugged at my collar as people stared at me. Silas pulled me to his chest. My heart hammered in my chest.
Then with a quick swift motion, Silas shoved me away. I dropped to my knees and dug my fingers into the floorboards. Pain seared through my body as my bones cracked and adjusted. It was like someone was ripping my muscles from my body. My head snapped up, and my fangs protruded.
What the hell was happening to me?
*******
Silas
Rory's body blazed, making me shove him from me. I hadn't felt that intense heat in a while. I looked at the charred skin on my hands and arms before my wolf healed me.
Rory dropped to the floor as we stood there in shock. His head whipped up as his eyes glowed blue, and his fangs descended. Then we watched his body change, with his bones lengthening and his muscles growing.
My dad held everyone back as Dante, and I witnessed our mate changing before us.
Rory's clothes tore as his body grew until it stopped. He gasped for breath, getting to his feet and standing up. I don't know about anyone else, but my jaw dropped.
"Mother of Goddess," Reagan gasped.
No kidding.
******
Rory
I turned my hands back and forth as I looked at them. They weren't dainty but masculine and bigger. I checked out my body with my clothes torn to shreds. Muscles had developed, replacing the scrawny body I had. I touched my face and ran my hands down my chiseled jawline.
"Did we just see Rory transform into a Greek god?" Phoenix asked.
"It looks like it," Storm answered.
"Just checking."
Before I spoke, something pulled me into darkness. I crash-landed on a floor with Silas and Dante joining me. Well, they landed on top of me with an oomph.
"Will you get off of me?" I wiggled underneath them.
"I still can't get over how deep your voice is. It's like you hit puberty in thirty seconds," Dante said.
Silas shoved Dante off of him, then helped me to my feet. I glared at Dante. He licked his lips and smirked at me.
"Now, boys. Play nice," Celeste said.
I groaned. Why?
Celeste strolled towards us with a smile. She looked me up and down as her smile grew wider. "I wondered when your transformation would happen. Seraphina needs to keep her witches in check. Some enjoy messing with the fates and hoping we don't notice."
"Seraphina told us she had nothing to do with Tempus creatures," Silas said.
"No, but she controls all witches, even Tempus witches." Celeste stepped toward me, gripped my face, and moved my head. "Hmm, just as I suspected. Abigail mixed a potion into the blood for you, weakening you."
"Is that why I was so weak?" I asked through smooshed lips.
"That and it curved your need to feed. It kept your scent cloaked." Celeste released my face.
Thank God. I didn't enjoy my face being squeezed. I rubbed my cheeks to get the feeling back.
"I'm still confused about the Tempus situation since my mates are Tempus creatures," Silas said.
I stretched and cracked my neck. Everyone looked at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Do you need to crack your bones?" Dante asked.
"I felt stiff."
"Oh, I have a stiff for you."
"Oh?" I arched my brow and smirked. "Will you spank me?"
"How about if I tie you up and spank you?"
"Do you two mind?" Silas asked us.
I adjusted myself. "Nope. Continue."
Silas rolled his eyes. It's not my fault. I have this insatiable need to mate.
Celeste walked to a fountain. Not the fountain again. The last time I fell in and got soaked.
"Come." Celeste gestured to us to come to the fountain.
It reminded me of the classics when people yelled, come hither. I snickered at the thought. Silas and Dante glanced at me with arched brows.
I cleared my throat. "Sorry. I was thinking about something I read."
We stepped to the fountain.
Celeste moved her fingers around in the water. "What do you see?"
"Tempus creatures and destruction," Silas said.
"Right. Because Tempus is a dark entity, a dark entity contains dark magic. It feeds on anger, destruction, and chaos. If you destroy the dark entity, it releases its hold on others."
"What about Dante and Rory?"
"A Tempus witch cursed Dante. It would lift his curse. A Tempus creature mated with a Dreamweaver, creating Rory. Rory would survive because of his Dreamweaver side."
"Would they remain supernatural creatures?"
"Yes."
"What?" Dante exclaimed. "I've been trying to break this stupid curse so I wouldn't be a vampire."
"The minute you fed on a human heart, you sealed your fate. Balance."
Dante released a strangled groan.
Silas and I glanced at each other. "Drama queen."
Dante rolled his eyes at us. We shrugged.
"So, how do we keep Abby from finding me? I don't want to return to that crazy witch," I said.
Silas and Dante snickered.
Celestes' lips tugged into a smile. "Your mate bond won't allow you to leave your mates. Only mates can reject each other. No one can interfere with them."
Whew. After being away from Abby, I felt more normal than I had been. As normal as one can be as a supernatural creature.
"So, what was up with our mate's transformation?" Dante asked. "Not that I'm complaining since he's hot."
I arched my brow and smirked. Silas shook his head.
"Whatever potion Abigail gave Rory stunted both sides. Dreamweavers speed up time then slows it down. At the same time, Vampires remain the same age when another turns them. The vampire altered the Dreamweaver essence enough for Rory to age until he turned twenty-five. But he will produce a child."
"Say what?" I looked at Celeste like she had lost her mind.
"Dante and Silas don't have the function to carry a child, but you do. You were born with a cervix and ovaries." Celeste smiled.
"I have a dick." I raised a finger.
"You carry both male and female reproductive organs."
I developed a perturbed face. My dick finally grew more considerable than it was, and the moon goddess told me I would bear children. Is she insane? Why do I have to carry them? Can't Dante carry them?
"Now, off you go." Celeste flicked her wrist.
A force pulled us as lights whipped past us. We crashed into a room. I opened my eyes as a couch fell on me. I covered my face with my arms but didn't feel an impact. I opened my eyes to the Alpha and Beta looking at me while holding the couch.
Silas skidded to a halt and snapped his fingers before hauling me to my feet. I stood up, fully clothed. At least I didn't feel a chill now.
The Alpha and Beta set the couch down.
"What's with Silas and his mates wrecking our house?" The Beta asked.
"We need to expand the pack house since our pack is growing. I'll talk to Dad when he returns," the Alpha said.
The Beta nodded in agreement.
"Where did you go?" The Alpha asked Silas.
"Celeste pulled us into another realm to explain key details."
"What did the moon goddess say?"
"Abigail gave Rory a potion to stunt his growth and his vampire and Dreamweaver sides. She also cloaked his scent."
"That would explain why Rory's stature was smaller."
Before Silas spoke, I covered my ears. A loud ringing flooded my brain, causing me to drop to my knees. I wasn't the only one. Silas and his parents covered their ears and dropped. I closed my eyes as memories from the last sixteen years hit me all at once.
The torment, abuse, and laughter appeared. Abby's discipline. The horrible taste of food. Locking eyes with Silas as we stood next to a flat stone table with a bowl. All the memories rushed back and hit me. Then the ringing stopped.
"Are you okay?" Erik asked us.
We nodded and stood up.
Ana flicked her wrist and raised the couch from the floor, then lowered it. "I remember how to control my magic."
Silas looked at Lazlo and narrowed his eyes. "You're a dead man!"
Lazlo's eyes widened as he bolted. Silas chased Lazlo.
"It wasn't my fault! I was still learning control!" Lazlo yelled.
"You shot me in the ass with an arrow! It is your fault!"
"Damn, look at Silas go," Martin said.
Erik rolled his eyes and rushed after them before all three shifted into wolf form. Silas pounced on Lazlo as Erik commanded Silas to submit. Watching my mate in wolf form was hot.
Erik dragged Silas and Lazlo into the house while Silas swung at Lazlo. "Knock it off." Erik shoved them apart.
"You wait," Silas told Lazlo.
Lazlo rolled his eyes. We heard grunting and looked at Reagan.
"What are you doing?" Riley asked him.
"I'm trying to shift on command. It's not working." Reagan groaned.
"Well, stop it. You sound like you're using the bathroom."
Reagan rolled his eyes.
We heard a crash and turned to a wolf lying on a broken table. Another wolf stood on the counter and shook out its fur.
"Storm and Phoenix, stop showing off!" Martin growled.
Storm hopped off the counter as Phoenix stood up. They ran up the stairs before shifting back. They returned with clothes on while laughing.
"It's always a fun time to shift in the house," Storm said.
"Now you can replace the table you destroyed," Alex said.
Storm and Phoenix groaned.
Yep, I prefer living here than with Abby.
