Revelations
While Christian and my parents worked together to understand about a hybrid and how to control it, I was dealing with the fact, I kept blowing things up. Erik had to keep an eye on me which he didn't mind. When he was around, I felt more calm until he would kiss me. Then all bets were off.
One day we're in my room and things got a little heated that I set his shirt on fire. He quickly put it out.
"Sorry," I said as I winced while standing there.
He looked at his burnt shirt and then at me.
"Good thing I heal quickly or this would suck," he sighed.
Another time I was leaning on a table and well, I broke it in half. His family looked at me a bit surprise as Erik sighed. Yeah this was going to be an issue considering my strength was increasing.
A different time I was moving quicker than usual causing my friends to tell me to slow down. Apparently speed was another issue. Even better I wasn't winded but they were except Riley. Odd.
Learning how to deal with both parts was interesting considering I had no freaking control over it. Then something strange happened. My senses heightened and so did my smell.
Ever smell cafeteria food. It's pretty gross. I also noticed Riley had a particular scent to him. Similar to Erik's but different. I was drawn to Erik because of his alpha but not drawn to Riley yet Erik was aggressive towards Riley like he was my dad.
That was when it hit me. Riley was a wolf. How did I not see that?
I found him alone and decided to ask point blank. He was getting stuff out of his lockers when I walked up to him.
"So when were you going to tell me?"
He stopped and looked at me.
"Tell you what?" He looked at me confused.
"That you're a wolf," I responded.
He looked at me with a knowing look.
"How did you know?" I looked at him and he sighed, "because you're wolf."
"Not just wolf but witch as well," I said matter of fact.
"Wait. What?"
Oops.
"Wait, you're a hybrid?!"
"Shhhh. Keep your voice down. I just found out myself and no one knows except Erik, his family and well, my parents. Only because mom is a witch and dad is a wolf. Let me tell you, that is weird to know your parents are not normal," I rambled.
"Ana, this isn't good," he told me.
"Huh?"
"Last summer, the reason I left for three months was I had changed. My dad took me away so I could learn control. While we were gone, a pack came through and there was whispering of them hunting another pack. There was also whisper of a hybrid. They just didn't know who the hybrid was but they knew they have a particular scent," he explained.
This didn't make me feel better. In fact it made me feel worse. So worse I caused metal to crunch as locker doors became indented. He turned around and looked at the row of them.
"I'm going to say your witch side is a bit upset," he said as he turned back to me.
"You have no idea. If I'm not setting Erik on fire, I'm breaking tables, out moving people and destroying things in my path," I sighed.
"Wait. What do you mean setting Erik on fire?"
"Well, we were kissing. Things got heated and the next thing I knew his shirt was on fire," I said gesturing emphatically.
"That must have been one hell of a kiss," he said with a look.
"Oh you have no idea," I smirked as I felt an arm wrap around me from behind. Then I heard someone inhale the side of my neck.
"Intoxicating," they whispered into my ear.
"Okay, didn't need to know or hear that," Riley sighed.
Erik's head snapped up and he glared at him.
"How did you hear that? It was barely a whisper," he said in a low voice.
"Because Riley is a wolf," I said to him as Erik released me and moved me behind him. "Erik!"
He turned his head to the side, "I'm protecting my mate."
I pushed him aside as he flew about ten feet from us. Riley and I looked as Erik laid on the floor.
"Oops my bad," I said nibbling my thumb.
Erik propped himself up and gave me a look. He got up and walked towards us as I stood there, giving him an innocent smile.
"We really need to work on you understanding I'm your alpha," he said.
"And we need to work on you realizing I don't like Riley like that and your stupid jealousy," I shot back.
"Um, thanks," Riley said as we looked at him.
"Riley, I love you but as a friend in a brother sort of way. Plus, that would be weird," I said making a face.
"Yeah, no offense but I prefer someone else," he said with a look.
"Okay now that we establish that we're just friends and Erik is a jealous fool, can we figure why people are hunting me," I asked them both.
They looked at me.
"This means you two need to work together and not try to rip each other's heads off," I warned them as they conceded. I may be a Luna but as a hybrid I was far more dangerous than they realized.
As we were trying to figure out the reason for the other pack, Victoria and Greg walked by but not before stopping. Erik and Riley moved in front of me as they smirked at me.
"Oh look, the school Virgin has two bodyguards," Victoria spoke in an condescending tone.
"Funny considering you attack me when I'm alone with your stupid minions," I snapped as she smirked.
"Awww, such a pathetic loser. How does it feel to be a doggy," she said making a barking sound as I could feel my anger build.
Erik walked towards her, "you really don't want to do this," he spoke releasing a low growl as Greg stood in front of him.
"No, you don't want to do this," he warned as his eyes changed.
Erik looked at him, "hmm, challenging an alpha. Not a smart move on your part. You tried it once and lost." He leaned in and whispered, "if I remember correctly I killed one of your pack members, omega."
Greg backed off as Erik stood his ground. Greg ushered Victoria away as she ran her mouth. Erik turned and walked back over to me.
"One of his minions was the omega you killed," I asked him.
"Yeah. He challenged me. Omegas have a habit of trying to supersede an alpha. They don't realize an alpha is chosen for a reason. It's the same as why Madison tries at times. Pure jealousy," he explained.
"Great." I sighed. I didn't need this.
"Except now you're more enticing to Madison. Which means, you may want to keep your distance from her," he said as he walked away. Riley and I looked at each other.
"What do you mean enticing?! Erik?! Don't walk away from me!" I ran after him as Riley followed suit.
Here was the thing. The day I had Madison pinned to the wall I unleashed one hell of a scent. Apparently Luna's give off a lot of pheromones to other wolves when they haven't bonded with their alphas yet. Basically I was fair game for everyone. Even Riley found himself enticed with the scent.
This also meant until I went into heat and mated, I would be drawing wolves to me like a moth to a flame. This would pose a serious problem as I was trying to learn control over my sides.
Erik's alpha would become more possessive and aggressive until then. He would see any wolves as a threat while he protected me. It would be something both of us would have to deal with and it wouldn't be pretty.
