Four

3rd Person's POV

"Yes. I'm on my way." Dominic hissed as he maneuvered his car not too far away from the bar.

He has a gut feeling that the killer will strike again tonight.

He was sure that whoever it was had the urge to kill again as he learned that one of the hostage-takers years ago whose name was Ferdinand Suarez will be attending the soiree.

According to his informant, one of the college students will have his party at the bar and rented the whole place.

He also happened to be a close kin of the student.

If Dominic was to calculate how old the next victim was, it would be around his late twenties as their suspected person was only ten years old at that time and has developed a certain psychological trauma.

If he was right, this is the killer's time to shine and do what the next victim had done to her parents.

Dominic was on a stake-out tonight and decided to act like a normal teenager wearing only civilian clothes.

Dominic stopped the engine of the car and put on his cap and leather jacket. Once he had locked the door, he placed his car keys on his jean pockets and went inside.

He crossed the street when the road was clear and was instantly welcomed by the blinding strobe lights.

Dancing bodies bumped into him as he made his way to the bar counter.

He instantly recognized the bar owner who was talking to some guy at the second level when he roamed his eyes around the place.

Lady bartenders were busy doing their tricks and stunts in front of their regulars who take enjoyment just by looking at them.

But, what caught Dominic's eyes more was the skillful talent of a lady whose hair was tied in a messy bun and had them highlighted with blonde and brown colors making her eyes appear to be piercing and feisty.

Piqued with interest, Dominic felt as if music instantly faded in the background as he moved towards the counter.

The lady noticed his presence and gave him a snide smile. She continued her tricks and served her customers with their preferences perfectly.

And then, she turned to face him once the trick has died down and the music shifted into a soft melody.

"Hello. What's yours?" The lady said in a gentle and soothing voice and linked eyes with him.

Dominic knew at that moment that the lady in front of him will be the death of him.

He was totally swept away just by looking at her adorable beauty.

"Ugh.. A vodka would do." Dominic said almost in a whisper.

The lady nodded and gave him a smile before she fixed her drink.

When she turned around, Dominic missed seeing a tattoo of her initials on her nape.

Dominic has no idea that the killer is right in front of him serving him with a coy smile.

⚫⚫⚫

Everything seemed to happen so fast.

Dominic got engrossed with his drink and found himself getting drunk and dancing with random strangers on the dance floor.

His consciousness came back when his partner, Clint, shook his head in disappointment as he moved past him.

Here he was at the parking lot and sitting on a monoblock chair just at the fire exit of the bar.

There was indeed another victim at the parking lot of the bar.

And, the initials were engraved again using a cork screw on the waist of the victim.

Dominic groaned in disappointment at himself as he let his mind be swooned by an alcoholic drink.

He knew that his instincts were right but alcohol got the best of him.

What he remembered was that he was assisted by someone and led to the room upstairs.

He was beat and knocked out by the amount of alcohol that he drank.

As far as he knows, he was already fine with his girlfriend broke up with him.

That was more than two months ago. So, it doesn't have to hurt too much anymore.

He was only awakened by the loud ringing of his phone when Clint called and asked where he is.

That was the time when he gasped and realized his mistake.

He was on a stake-out and he was unprofessional when he let his sanity be driven away!

"Another freak accident, eh?" SPO4 Ulyssis Hartwood commented and watched as the forensics team snap a couple of pictures of the victim.

Some even had the spot cordoned and secured from the prying eyes of the public.

With the bar being located in a residential area, it was inevitable not to attract gossipmongers and naysayers around the vicinity.

SPO4 was true about his observation about the fate of the victim.

His neck was broken as if it was being turned in an impossible manner. His hands and ankles were tied and seemed to be broken by something so heavy. He also was electrocuted because there were still  some fresh smoke coming out of his tummy and legs.

The killer must have real hatred and loathed him that much.

It was too grotesque to comprehend.

"If there is one thing I noticed, is the freshness of the wound and smoke." Clint said and pointed out the things as he spoke.

Dominic looked at the body as his partner commented his observations.

"I'm pretty sure that the killer is just around here somewhere. He or she must have been living nearby, working here or a guest in the soiree." Clint added and Dominic could only agree.

"If we didn't find this killer soon enough, this town will be a ghost town in a day or two." Clint said and Dominic shook his head because of his stupidity.

He should be more keen and alert more!

He shouldn't be affected by alcohol!

Who would have known if the killer had just offered him a drink?
