LESSON 5 : Dragon Horns & Details
Dragons are, at their base, sleek lizard-like creatures. Only when you add their details, do you add their personalities, skills, and character...
Base:
Start with a basic, expressionless dragon head. For these examples, I will be using this base for each design.
Horns:
Probably the most defining feature of a dragon's head. Horns can come in a large variety, greatly different the overall feel you want your dragon to have.
A spiked design can often hint at a villain character, when a gentle curve can be a protagonist. A jagged, abnormal horn can determine a metal elemental, and a twisted horn can determine an earth elemental. It's all up to you, and some dragons don't have even have horns at all!
Underbelly:
Their meaning is incredibly similar to horns, but it covers a larger part of a dragon's body.
Fins:
Almost exclusively found in Water Dragons, but sometimes seen in other elements such as Darkness, Poison, and Ice.
Mouth:
This can greatly vary based off of the scale texture of the dragon. They can have beak-like mouths if they're Wind Dragons, or jagged if they're Rock Dragons... The possibilities are endless!
Other Details:
This can be anything from fur, feathers, spikes, or something totally different!
And that concludes this lesson, thanks for reading and I hope this helped you all continue to create incredible dragons!
