Samantha was in her room, watching anime as usual. With her earphones on, she was curled up under the blankets and was staring intently at the screen.

She adjusted her glasses, smiling slightly at the scene unfolding on the screen. She checked her phone for any Wattpad or Snapchat notifications and seeing that there were none, returned to the anime with full attention.

Suddenly, there was a knock on her door. Samantha paused the video and took off an earbud, wondering who it was.

Yao opened the door, holding a box of Pocky sticks. His eyes were trained on the box nervously as he opened his mouth to speak.

"Hey, wanna come join me to watch anime?" she offered.

"Maybe not today..." he murmured. He held the box up. "I was wondering if we could-"

"You brought me food!" the girl exclaimed, taking the box and opening it. "Thanks!"

As she munched on the snack, Yao sighed, for this was not how he expected this to turn out.

"What were you going to say again?" she asked.

"Ah...never mind."
