Tropes are recurrent theme in fandoms, general categories with common elements that help label fanfictions that belongs to them. They can be more or less specific, even be sub-categories themselves, since if a theme become popular it will gain its very own place near the general category that could have included it. Alpha/Beta/Omega (A/B/O) dynamics
In this kind of scenario people are divided into Alfa (dominant–first class ), Beta (dominant-second class), Omega (submissive). They mate with a chosen or predestined partner during the Heat cycle.

Age Difference
One of the is considerably older than the other one. That can happen due to time travel, spells, potions or AU.

Bets & Wagers
The plot is lead by someone that bets with one of our boys or by them both daring each other.

Bodyswap
After a curse or an accident caused by a potions or a spell gone wrong, they swap their body.

—That's ridiculous. If I could body swap with anyone I'd swap with myself. I mean have you seen me?
—You are so charming when you play modest, Draco.

De-Aging
Due to something (curse, potion, spell etc.) one or both become younger physically and/or mentally.

Denial
One or both boys are repressing their feelings for each other in some way, or deny their sexuality. It could also include self denial of happiness for various reasons.

Drug Abuse/Addiction
Harry, Draco, or both of them are addicted to alcohol or drugs and that brings them together. It could be at an early stage of addiction (ex. during parties) or later (ex. rehab).

Bodyguard/Charge
One is put in charge of the other for various reasons – mostly Harry as probation supervisor after the war – or one is hired as Bodyguard by the other, or by some other authority.

—Shut up, Potter, and take my cloak. We're going shopping, I need airgel.

Bonding
Something bonds our boys together: a spell, a potion (where one goes wrong), a magical artifact. It could be a punishment, a way to save someone's life, even a joke and it could be physical or mental, permanent or temporary.

Breaking Up
A marriage or a relationship breaks. Harry and Draco could also not be directly involved, but suffer the consequences nonetheless, being led/pushed towards each other in the process.

Down (on his luck) & Out!Draco
Every negative Post-War scenario involving Draco: probation work, poverty, harassed and forced to leave the magical world, or live as an outcast.

Fake Dating/Fake Marriage/Arranged marriage
Our boy pretend to be in a relationship for some reason; they can be together or with someone else. Arranged Marriage: being forced to marry due to a debt or a law.

—Why do something so idiotic as Fake Dating? You basically don't get the actual good part!
—Honesty? Oh, Draco, I was thinking the exact same thing.
—What!? I was talking about the good part. You know the one you do with your lover, after hopefully not too much time...
—I don't want to wait anymore too, Draco. Let's get married.
—Wha—

Forced Bed Sharing, Roommates, Trapped in an Elevator/Snowed-In Cabin/Safehouse during the war, etc.
Everything and anything that creates a situation which demands our boys to share a space together, willingly or not.

Friends with Benefits
Casual relationship leading to love.

Fuck or Die
They are forced to come together by life threatening situations: curse, threat or even weather conditions.

Enemies to lovers - Friends to lovers
Self explanatory: the author shows how the relationship develops, step by step. The more natural the progression, the more believable the relationship.

—Er, how did we end up in bed? Last thing I remember are flying hexes, then clothes and the rest is a blurr.

—That's because I took off your excuse for glasses at some point, and probably blew your mind.*wink*

Infidelity
It could be one of them cheating on the other or on their spouse(s). When discovered, it leads to complications.

Injury/Illness
Usually in this fic one of them is a Healer and the other a Patient. However, it could also involve a post-injury/illness (mental or physical) or a PTSD/after war recovery scenario in which one takes care of the other.

Kid!fic - Adoption
Parenting related fic or kid care; their own or others.

Living as a Muggle
Muggle life for one or both of them for various reason: hiding, being an outcast, or due to a punishment. It includes stop using magic, willing or forced, and have a Muggle job.

—As if I would lower myself to go Muggle? Not in this lifetime! For Merlin's sake I'm the heir of one of the richest and most ancient Pureblood family of all time, how you could possibly thin—
—Draco can we go to the amusement park?
—Totally, but it's my turn to ride the bike.

Memory loss
One of our boys loses his memory for some reasons. It could happen even if the relationship is established.

Odd Jobs
All fics where our boy have a different job then the one people would expect them to have (like Harry as Auror or Draco as Potions maker/Professor).

Re-sorting
Re-sorting is used to spice up the 8th year fics, since one or both of them are placed in a different House at the beginning of the year.

Party Games
Set in the Hogwarts Era mostly, feature Truth or Dare, Poker or Strip Poker, Never have I ever, drinking games, and other party games.

—Let's face it, I couldn't have stood that pointy git without alcohol.
—Potter! What did you just say!?
—That maybe I'm going to sleep on the couch tonight...

Presumed Dead
One or both show up again after thought dead for years. Many exploit it with the ghost element, as in ghost!Harry/Draco.

Prisoner!fic
Mostly Draco is in Azkaban pre or after the war, or one of them is prisoner of the other or in general during wartime. They tend to be dark and can border in sexual slavery themes.

Rentboy
For some reasons one or both of them are a sex worker (stripper, professional dominant, escort etc.)

Soulmate Universe
A type of AU in which people have Soulmate Identifying Marks on their body (Tattoo, Red Thread of Fate, etc.)

—Aw, those are my favourite. Can you imagine that, Draco? Having a permanent mark on your body that show how you belong to someone as they belong to you?
—I can give you a hickey if you want, Potter.
—That's not what I meant, you moron. Er, let's go for that in the meantime though.

Secret Identity
One or both conceal their identity/identities. It could be voluntary through spell or Polijuice, for a specific purpose (for example to get a job done or to have s chance with the other one) or without meaning it, and having to deal with the consequences.

Secret Relationship
Every issues that a secret relationship involves are welcome in this fics.

Sex Compulsion
Something compels one or both of the boy to have sex with the other one, or to crave it in general (and the other happens to be there...). It could be sex pollen, love potion, aphrodisiac, pheromones, spell or curse.

Time Travel
The boys willingly or by accidents travel back/forward in time. They could be stuck in time or have the chance to come back immediately having a glance of the future.

Working for the other - coworker
Fic that revolve on their working relationship, exploring the dynamics that lead one toward the other.

—Draco, could you to explain me again why I should fill in the report for both of us if we are assigned to different cases?
—Potter, for the umpteenth time, I'm doing this for you: the more you practice the more your penmanship will improve.
