"Are you ready?" Vanessa asked. I sighed as I patted my backpack. "No.." "You have to.." "I know but.. leaving my parents is the last thing I wanted to do" "I know it's hard but, there's no other choice Maddie" "You're right..might as well just be ready" "Yep. I'm not sure scaring you but.. you're gonna see many weird things" she said, her expression serious.

"Damn.." Mom came in. "I guess this is it" "Yes Mom" "Well..be careful and learn more about your abilities okay?" "Yes Mom..and I will come back with Julia and aunt Em" "Okay.. Love you" Mom said as she hugged me. Dad followed and joined us while Vanessa left. "Love you too" "Be careful dear" Dad said. "Yes Dad".

They both kissed me goodbye while Vanessa returned. She took the cylindrical metal thing and started spinning the columns like a switch. The air cracked then a portal opened. Mom had tears in her eyes while Dad gave her a supported arm around her shoulders. I hugged them once more then started slowly walking backwards. Tears threatening to spill, Vanessa said goodbye and promised to be side by side with me. I couldn't believe it, I was leaving..like not seeing my parents for a long time because I know getting my sister won't be easy.

It's a journey through different places and worst of all is that.. I have no clue where she might be. It was so sad leaving them.. Isn't there another- "Let's go Maddie" Vanessa gently held my hand, I wiped tears that I didn't know had fell and looked at my parents but Mom wasn't there. I frowned in confusion "Where's-" Mom came down from the stairs with a strange old book. "Here. Emily left this" "What's this..?" "A book.. I don't know what it's about but I think it'll help" "oh..okay" I said as I took it.

"Goodbye Mom and Dad" I said and hugged them again, I stepped back and walked to Vanessa, she gave me a nod and I returned one then we jumped into the portal, I started seeing wisps and swirls of energy then white.....

When I opened my eyes I was on the ground, I got up and looked at Vanessa seeing her standing, we were in an open field full of evergreen grasses. "Welcome to Varsika" she announced. I looked around seeing trees and animals far away then when I looked infront of me..you won't believe what I saw.. it was a castle.. a very big golden castle. "Whoa.." "Good right?" "Straight out of a fantasy novel.." Wait why do I feel a sense of deja Vu. It's like- "Let's go" Vanessa said and I followed, backpack and the book in it.

We walked, passing through bushes and fruit trees then finally we reached a stone path that led to big gates that were closed and two guards stood at each side. We reached the gates.

"Halt!" One guard said in his green and gold armor. Vanessa stepped infront of me, confidently and talked. "It's me John.. no need to act protective" " Who is that" said John asked looking at me. "This is a friend of mine.. Lily" Wait a minute..Lily? I'm not- "And what is she doing here?" "John, she's my friend" "Wait..we need to make sure" "Ugh fine" Vanessa said boredly.

The other guard walked to me and opened his palm, a small ball of light appeared then it started spinning while getting big at the same time till it reached the size of a tennis ball, then a gold ribbon started surrounding it, closing it until it was a small golden ball. A hold opened itself at the center and then, it flashed at me.

I covered my eyes, from the harsh light while Vanessa yelled at John "What the hell is wrong with you! I didn't tell you to blind her!" "Hey what have I done wrong, it's supposed to do that". "Well you could've told before it flashed at me" I said annoyingly while slowly regaining my vision. "No threat detected" the golden ball said monotonously.

The gates opened as we entered in and they closed behind us. "Well this is it.. Varsika itself" Vanessa said as we continued walking, me looking at the people who are busy minding their own business. They were wearing green and golden attire, most of them. Some looked at me as if I was an alien. "Well.. looks like I'm not dressed as them" I say and Vanessa looks at me, oh yeah..I forgot" she snaps her fingers and my clothes transform into the same attire. It fit me well "You look different" Vanessa smiles. "Yes..very" I laugh, "come on..let's go".

We walk to a very large castle and entered inside, I muttered a few 'woows' and 'whoas' because damn did the place look..amazing. Inside the castle walls, soldiers stood in place, awaiting for any dummy to try to infiltrate the castle. We walked further in to find another hallway that led to the other side of the city. "Wait, so this whole building was only like a gateway or something?" I bemused. "Yep..we might get a clue to where your sister is where we are going" Vanessa said.

I immediately got happy and we did enter the other side of the city, as we kept walking we were met by a man..in his fifties, and he greeted us with a smile. "Vanessa..pleasure to meet you again" he said warmly. "Thank you, Billy, same" "And you are....Madison" He offered. I raised my eyebrows "Yes..how do you know me?" he chuckled "This way.." he ignored my question and led the way to a very weird shaped house. I would call it a white pumpkin with gold and green decor, wait..I just called it. Well we entered into his house and sat down.

He offered us some snacks while we talked.
"Billy..we need your help with something" Vanessa said in all seriousness.

"Sure what do you need help for?" He said then checked if we were done and snapped his fingers and the plates and cups disappeared. It's weird how normal that felt, guess I have to get used to it.

"We need your help to get Maddie's sister back" Vanessa said.

"Hmm" Billy hummed and looked at Vanessa then at me. "What's in it for me?"

"W-what... What do you mean what's in it for you?"

"Well I'm risking my life for dealing with something dangerous"

"But you are used to this dangerous stuff"

"I know..I'm not talking about that.. I'm talking about her sister"

Did I just hear that correctly? My sister? Julia? I gave him a look of disbelief, Vanessa gave him one too. "You must be mistaken.. my sister is not dangerous..her name is Julia-"

"-I know what her name is, I'm not going anywhere near that monster" Billy said in a cold tone. Guess the politeness he showed us earlier was only a mask. I got so angry, why is he talking about Julia like that?

"You know what? Fine, we are leaving" I said, not wanting to hear this nonsense any longer. "But Maddie he's our only chance for now" Vanessa hesitated, "It's okay..we will find help somewhere else" I said getting up.

"Good luck with that" he said. I ignored him and started heading for the door, "And hope you never get that wretched monster wherever she is" he finalized. I stopped in my tracks and turned around "What did you just say?" "Did I stutter?" "Whatever c'mon Vanessa let's go" I grabbed her hand and pulled her with me, "That's what I thought..never come back here" Okay..now I think he pushed my buttons.

"You know for an oldie like you, you sure know how to talk bullshit" I said turning around again.

"What can I say, it's how I am" he had the nerve to smirk.

"Too bad you and the toilet aren't a couple 'cause it would really match" he tensed.

"Watch your mouth, insolent child or I will give you back your words. Literally"

"Yeaah, this is the part where we leave-" my words were cut off by a strangling sensation in my throat. I started gasping for air "What do you think you're doing!?" Vanessa shouted. I looked at Billy and he was looking at me, smiling.

Vanessa created a fireball and threw it at Billy who waved his hand and the fire disappeared. I used all my strength and raised my hand trying to gather energy. I focus a bit more and send a wave of power at him knocking him off. I immediately felt the strangling feeling leave and started coughing, I got up just in time for Billy to get up too but before he could anything Vanessa said "Impilitrio" and a force field surrounded Billy, he tried using his powers to no avail.

"Let's go, he isn't going to be trapped for long!" Vanessa said and we stormed out of the house. As we reached outside I got a flash......

*"You can't do this" "Why..it's her destiny. You were the one who chained her powers to darkness you think you will get away with it..you won't escape him" A man said, he was wearing a long black overcoat and a hat..he looked straight out of a detective movie..but I couldn't see his face, the more I tried to focus on it the more I couldn't see his face properly. He was talking to a woman who was wearing a purple dress. "I have no choice! Just let her go!" "She will be taken.. she's too dangerous to even stay here".......*

...."Maddie..?...Maddie, Maddie wake up" I opened my eyes. Only to find out that I was on the ground and we were no longer outside Billy's home. We were somewhere else, it was another house. "Where are we? What happened?" "Well, you passed out and we are in my friend's house so just rest" "Don't worry I'm okay" "But you passed out" "Seriously..I'm okay, I just..had a vision" "Vision? What vision?" "That..there was some woman who was talking to this..man"

"What were they talking about" I tried remembering and what I remembered was enough. "Something about someone's powers being chained to darkness" "Any relevance?" ..."I don't know" I got up and started walking around the house. When I reached the living room I saw a girl drawing pictures on different papers.

"Hi.."

"Hello, oh you must be Madison, I'm Lily, Vanessa's friend. I heard you are looking for your sister.."

"Nice to meet you, and yes. I don't even know where to find her"

"You must hurry, because you don't know where she might be"

"Why?"

"There are so many dimensions and some of them are not safe so be-" A knock on the door interrupted her. She got up and motioned for me to hide, I went into the kitchen and listened

"We know she's here" a male voice said.

"No she's not, leave you're disturbing my peace"

"Step aside or external force will be used"

"No..you don't have my permission"

I heard rustling and then Lily shouted. I kept hiding inside the kitchen. I heard footsteps then Vanessa's voice.

"Let her go! We've already told you she's not here!"

"Wait..you were with her when you attacked The Wizard"

"What..?"

"Seize her"

Okay that was it, I ran from the kitchen to the living room to find out that Lily had been held by a soldier. "I'm here" Vanessa widens her eyes "Maddie what are you doing? Go back we'll handle this" "No..let me" I walk forward then look at Vanessa and give her a "I have a plan" look.

I raised my hands and then one soldier opened his palm to show a golden ribbon that started spinning, turning metallic in the process and cuffed me. They let Lily go and grabbed me. I had a plan. Now it was the time.

"I have something to say before I leave..Vanessa wasn't at fault. It was me. I had attacked The Wizard. And second...close your eyes"

Lily and Vanessa closed their eyes while the soldiers stared at me in confusion, I summoned power in my palms "Sotnas Feiera!" I said and opened my palms sending bright light across the whole room, blinding the soldiers then pulled the power to the golden cuffs and made them loose, I removed my hands and turned to Lily and Vanessa.

"Go to the kitchen, I'll handle this" Lily said. We started moving to the kitchen, but stopped at the arch doorway to the kitchen. She clapped her hands once and a strange pulse of invisible energy spread across the room like a wave then she made finger motions and said "Arise..Genate Incate" . Then the most surprising thing happened.

All Lily's drawings started spinning like a tornado then..they came to life. They shot out of the papers and started spinning around the soldiers. She turned to us and followed. We reached and she took a folded peace of paper, unfolded it then set it down. It was a drawing of a purple box. Vanessa ran to the room then came back with our stuff.

"Wait, where are we headed and isn't it going to be a long journey?" I asked.

Lily laughed "And that is why I love magic..are you guys ready?" Vanessa nodded. "Ready for what?" She smiled and raised her hand on the drawing. It glowed and purple smoke started spinning around it then we were pulled. Me screaming my lungs out.
