Something You Never Saw Coming (2)
A/N: Hey everyone! Hope you guys liked the last oneshot. I know it was a sad one, and didn't have a happy ending, so I am sorry for that. It's just that I wanted to write something other than simple fluff, and got that idea. Anyways, I can assure you that this oneshot won't be like the last one. Read the A/N at the end to find out when the next oneshot will be out. On with the chapter!
Also, this a collab with @Slytherin_Life1018. The first part of this oneshot 'Something You Never Saw Coming pt 1' is in her book 'Dramione One-Shots'. Please check it out. The oneshots are amazing!! (This oneshot is the second part of it).
"YOU ARE WHAT?" Everyone shouted in unison.
But when Hermione looked closely, the people who had a shocked expression on their faces were Ron, Ginny, Pansy and Harry.
Blaise, who previously had his head in his hands, was now glaring at the four shocked people, Draco was suddenly very interested in his shoes, and Theo was grinning at her.
"You are what?" Harry asked her.
"I am Zabini's twin sister." Hermione said, the Veritaserum potion forcing her to answer his question truthfully.
"What?" Harry asked again, his jaw touching the floor below.
Blaise had had enough of him. "Salazar, Potter. I knew you were oblivious, but you are deaf as well? She just said twice that she is my twin sister."
"B-but- how?" Ron stuttered.
"Are you delusional? Or are you crazy? Do you really want to ask me 'how'?" Blaise shook his head.
"Wait, I know how she is his twin sister. As you all know, nobody likes Blaise so he used a spell to make Granger his twin. So if people like her, then it means that they like Blaise as well because Granger's a Zabini, and Blaise is a Zabini as well... Does that make any sense?" Theo looked at everyone.
"Will you stop giving me a headache, Nott?" Draco shook his head. "Can we just go back to the game, please? Or otherwise you all are welcome to get out of here right now."
"Honestly, all boys in Hogwarts are a bunch of annoying gits. Specially the ones here." Ginny scowled at them.
"Hey! I am your boyfriend." Harry told her.
"Doesn't make you any less of an annoying git." She smiled at him.
"But Bella-idiotic-trix carved that word into your arm. And, if you're Zabini's twin sister, then it means that you are a Pureblood. So why would she do that?" Ron asked.
"Nobody except my family knew that Hermione's my sister." Blaise looked at her. "We were born during the first Wizarding War, and my family wasn't on Voldemort's side. Actually, they were on nobody's side. And, we are quite famous, and powerful, you know?"
"Not as famous and powerful as the Malfoys." Draco interrupted, but as usual, everyone ignored him.
"Moldy Voldy wanted the Zabinis to join him. He didn't know anything about Hermione, and thought that only I was born that day. My parents didn't want him to get to know about her as before we were born, there was a prophecy made stating that the Pureblood Witch who will be born on the nineteenth of September in 1979, will be quite powerful. And they wanted that war to end, so they gave her to the Grangers, who were our good friends." Blaise finished.
"So, you knew this, Hermione? And you never told us? And why did you never said anything when Malfoy or anyone else said that foul word to you?" Harry asked his best friend.
"I swear, Potter, I don't know how you managed to defeat the noseless freak and yet be this daft. I can defeat you in a second." Draco smirked at him.
"Silencio." Hermione whispered, her wand pointed at him and quickly disarmed him as well and turned towards the others. "No, I didn't know. Blaise- Claise once mentioned in our sixth year that I was just like his sister and then Theo said that I was Blaise's sister. So, I was suspicious back then. And, after the war, I went to retrieve my parents' memories, and I stayed in a nearby hotel. After I had retrieved their memories, I stayed with them. One day, I had gone to the market to buy some stuff, and when I returned, I saw Blaise talking with them."
"She was about to hex me even before I had the chance to say a single word to her. Thankfully, her parents stopped her. And then... We told her the truth. Needless to say, it wasn't easy for them to, you know, say goodbye to each other. She didn't even talk to me when we came back to England... And eventually, she was able to accept the fact that she's my sister, and we have been on great terms ever since." Blaise smiled at her.
"What the hell is even Blaise- Claise?" Harry asked him.
Blaise sighed. "Please don't tell me that's the only thing you got out of this long explanation."
When Harry looked away from him, he added, "You Gryffindorks are a bunch of idiots and- Ahhhh!"
Everyone looked at Hermione who had just accioed and thrown a few items on Blaise. "I told you to stop calling us Gryffindorks. You may be older than me, but don't forget that I can still beat you. " She turned towards Harry who was gaping at her. "Blaise-Claise is my name for him."
Hermione took her wand and removed the glamour charm from herself. Blaise had told her that when she was born, their parents had put a glamour charm on her to prevent anyone from thinking that she was a Zabini. Everyone looked at her as her skin turned a shade darker, and her eye colour changed.
Draco quickly took his wand from her, and removed the Silencio spell. "So, you didn't have any problem talking with Zabini, let alone accepting that you were his sister?" Ginny asked him.
"You are saying like that as if I am the giant squid instead of a normal, good looking and talented wizard." Blaise muttered.
"We had developed a friendship in our sixth year. I don't clearly remember how or when or even where, but I guess it just happened." Hermione shrugged.
"What do you mean you don't remember? You, me, Blaise and Draco used to spend hours in the library, sitting on your favourite desk and joking or just simply talking with each other." Theo said.
"Draco? No, Theo, you are mistaken. Draco wasn't there with us. It was just us three. I don't remember him being there." Hermione shook her head.
"Are you crazy, Hermione? Or did someone used Obliviate on you?" When Theo said this, nobody noticed a certain Slytherin looking away from everyone else.
"Theo, that's it. Let's just go back to the game-" Blaise, who knew exactly what had happened, started but was quickly cut off.
"Blaise, wait. Something's clearly wrong here. You always sat next to Draco, Hermione. You even supported him when you found him crying in the bathroom. How can you not remember that?" Theo asked her.
"Theo, stop it. Who's turn is it now?" Blaise asked, but nobody paid him attention.
"Shut up, Zabini. You don't remember going to the Astronomy Tower, do you, Hermione? You and Draco used to go there almost every night, watching the stars and all that. But one day, you both went there and the next day, you didn't come to meet us in the library. Draco told us that you said that you didn't like talking to us, and just ran away from him. But that wasn't true, was it?" Theo looked at her.
"You talked to us in the corridors, when Draco wasn't there with us. But not in the library, when we used to sit with Draco. You don't remember anything at all, do you?" He asked her.
When Hermione shook her head, Theo narrowed his eyes at Draco. "What did you do, Draco?"
"Theo, please, its-"
"I said shut up, Zabini. Draco, you will answer me right now. What the hell did you do?" Theo glared at him.
Hermione might be Blaise's real sister, but Theo treated her as if she was his too. He wouldn't let anyone say anything to her. She was his best friend.
When Draco didn't say anything, Theo accioed a vial of Veritaserum towards him. "Alright, Malfoy, since it's your turn, tell us what really happened on that day when you both went to the Astronomy Tower?"
"I don't remember choosing Truth, Theo." Draco crossed his arms.
"The hard way it is then." Theo sighed. He quickly used the Petrificus Totalus spell on Draco, forced him to drink the potion, and removed the spell.
"Nott, I will- We both went to the Astronomy Tower that day after dinner." Draco's eyes widened as he started speaking against his own will. "She knew that I was a death eater, and that I had been given a task. When I didn't complete it, Voldemort called me back to the Manor for a few days before the Easter Holidays started. He..."
Flashback
"Hermione... I want to- the stars are looking beautiful tonight, aren't they?" Draco started, but quickly changed the topic.
"What happened, Draco?" When he looked at her in confusion, she added, "You only call me Hermione when you want to talk about something serious. And, I don't think you want to talk about the stars. What's the matter, Draco?"
He slowly stood up and helped her up as well. "You know how I feel about you, don't you?"
Hermione smiled at him. "After that potions class when we had to brew the Amortentia, anyone could tell that you had feelings for me, if they paid attention to what you said when Slughorn asked you about the scents that you smelled in that potion."
He narrowed his eyes at her, and she laughed. "Alright, alright. I just had a doubt that time, but Blaise and Theo told me everything."
"Sometimes, I don't even understand whose friends are they, yours or mine?" Draco sighed. "Remember when you came back to Hogwarts during the Winter Holidays because you didn't want me to be alone?"
She nodded. "You remember our kiss during the New Year?" He asked.
Again, she nodded. "You know what it means, don't you?" He stared at her.
"If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that you are asking me about my feelings for you." She smiled. "About my love for you."
"Do you?" He asked her. "Do you have feelings for me?"
Instead of answering, she leaned in and kissed him lightly. He quickly wrapped his arms around her as he kissed her back.
After a few moments, he pulled back and just stared at her, trying to memorize her every feature, because he knew he probably won't ever be able to stand this close to her again.
"Always remember that I love you, Hermione. Please don't forget that. Please don't forget about me." Without her noticing, he took out his wand from his robe. "I love you so much."
Hermione was about to reply, but stopped when she saw him pointing his wand at her. "Draco, what are you doing? Draco!"
But she couldn't step away from him for one of his arms was still wrapped tightly around her. "I am sorry." He muttered.
"Draco, no. Please, don't do this. I lov-" But she didn't get to finish her sentence.
"Obliviate."
He removed his every memory from her mind. She won't ever remember them talking in the library.
She won't ever remember them staring at the stars while he told her about the Draco constellation.
She won't ever remember having feelings for him.
Draco closed his eyes as a single tear made its way down his face. Hermione fainted as he put his wand back in his robe.
He sat down on the floor, placing her head on his lap. He knew she would never look at him the same way again.
She would never look at him the way he would always look at her.
And Salazar, it hurt way more than several Cruciatus Curses used on him.
"You didn't even let her say I love you to you, did you?" Draco almost jumped when he saw Blaise walking towards them.
"Blaise, you know that I had to do it. The Dark Lord somehow managed to get to know that I had feelings for her. He threatened her, Blaise! He placed a D-dementor in front of me. Believe me, I-I tried casting a Patronus, all the while thinking about her... But I couldn't. I couldn't, Blaise. T-that dementor, I-I..." Draco faltered.
Blaise placed a hand on his shoulder, and sat down next to him. "I know, mate, I know. I may not understand what you are going through right now, but I sure as hell know that you won't ever forgive yourself for this. Ever."
"Her happiness is the most important thing to me, Blaise. Even if it's without me." Draco smiled sadly at his witch. "I would do anything for her."
"You are a great person, Draco. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise." Blaise smiled at his best friend.
"I am not a great person, Blaise. I am a coward." Draco sighed and looked at him. "Make sure she doesn't remember anything about me. To her, I should only be the person whom she hates the most."
Flashback over
Several gasps could be heard when Draco finished telling everyone what had happened on that day.
But only one person was silent, the Gryffindor Princess. "I- how could you do that? And," She turned towards her brother, "You never told me? I can't believe you, Blaise."
"It's not his fault, Granger." Draco said, not meeting her eyes. "It was me who did that, and who told him to stay quiet. He was just ensuring your safety-"
"To hell with that, Malfoy." Theo exclaimed and stood up. "You never bothered to tell me about this? And here I was thinking that maybe she rejected you, and I would have to come up with ways to make her say the truth that she loved you."
"Theo... Mate, I-" Blaise stood up and Draco followed.
"Do not call me mate if all you both do is hide things from me." Theo shook his head. "I thought we were past all that. I never hid anything from you both. You even knew that I almost tripped while trying to impress Luna and embarrassed myself."
"And that Luna thought it was cute and she offered to give you a Buttercork necklace since it would keep the Wracky things away." Blaise smiled at him.
"First of all, they are Wrackspurts. And second, I am done with this." Theo glared at them and left the dormitory.
Hermione quietly stood up and cleaned the mess they had made on the floor. "The game is over. It's getting late, McGonagall won't be happy if she caught you all out of bed. Goodnight."
The three Gryffindors and two Slytherins looked at the Head Girl and Boy and exited the Dormitory.
Blaise was the last one to go out. He nodded at Pansy and then looked back at his sister. "For what it's worth, I am sorry, Hermione. Please forgive your Blaise-Claise."
She looked away from him, and he sighed. Draco shot a quick apologetic look at him, but Blaise smiled and shook his head, exiting their common room.
Draco sighed and turned towards his room. Just as he was about to open the door, he heard her calling him.
"Please give me my memories back, Dra-" She stopped and started fiddling her fingers.
Draco nodded, and quickly used his wand to undo the spell. When he was done, Hermione lost her balance and would have fallen to the ground if it wasn't for him to catch her, due to his seeker reflexes.
"T-thank you." She muttered and ran back to her room.
Draco looked at the closed door, and took out the object from his jacket's pocket. He stared at the pendant in his hand.
He had requested the shop keeper to engrave something on its back.
HG+DM
Forever
He had initially planned to give this to her during one of their meetings at the Astronomy Tower. But he never found the courage to do so.
And now... The pendant would stay with him, just like it had since the past one and a half year.
---------
Few days later...
Theo had successfully managed to ignore his two Slytherin best friends. Whenever they would try to talk to him, he would simple walk away from them.
Another person who had done the same was Hermione. She would stay in her room most of the time, and would ignore his brother and Draco everytime.
"Theo?" Hermione found him looking at his best friends, who were sitting on the ground near the Black Lake.
"Hey, Hermione." He smiled at her, but it didn't reach his eyes.
"If you miss them so much, then why don't you go and talk to them?" Hermione asked as she stood next to him.
"I don't know if I should forgive them or not." Theo looked at her.
"You should. I know what they did wasn't right, but they are your best friends, aren't they? I know that you three are feeling sad but, won't admit this to each other." Hermione said.
"I will forgive them the day you forgive them." Theo smirked at her.
"Okay then, go and forgive them now." When Theo stared at her, she continued, "I think I should talk to them, and maybe forgive them. I'll talk to Blaise now, and as for Draco... I'll talk to him after dinner."
Theo nodded. "Okay. But you better say I love you to that ferret this time."
----------
Hermione found him sitting on the floor at the Astronomy Tower that night.
Their favourite place.
She quickly walked towards him and sat down next to him on the floor. Draco jumped as he saw her, but before he could say anything, Hermione said, "Look, Draco. I know that what you did wasn't right but you did it for me, and my safety, so I thank you for that."
"You should hate me instead of thanking me." He muttered.
"Oh believe me, that thought did cross my mind. But even when you told us everything that day, I didn't hate you. I understood why you did that, having done the same thing myself." She smiled at him.
Draco stared at the stars. "But unlike you, I didn't plan on returning your memories, at least not anytime soon. If it wouldn't have been for Theo, I don't think I would have been tell you all that."
"The stars are beautiful tonight, aren't they?" Hermione asked him.
"Not as beautiful as you." He looked at her. Hermione smiled and stood up, helping him up as well.
"You know that I have feelings for you, don't you?" She asked him.
He nodded. "Remember our kiss during the New Year?" She asked.
Again, he nodded. "You know what that means, don't you?" She stared at him.
Draco smirked as he realised what she was doing. "If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that you are asking me about my feelings for you. About my love for you."
"Do you?" She asked him. "Do you have feelings for me?"
"I do." He said.
"Weren't you supposed to kiss me instead of saying that?" She grinned at him.
"I love you, Hermione Granger or Zabini, whatever, though I have to say that I like Hermione Malfoy." He smirked at her.
"I love you too, my amazing bouncing ferret. Be my boyfriend?" She asked him.
"Why, Granger, I thought you would never ask. And yeah, the answer is yes." He smirked before leaning down, and kissing her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back.
They quickly pulled away when they heard someone laughing.
Draco glared at his two bestfriends. They certainly didn't know the meaning of not interrupting a good moment.
"Finally! I thought I would never get to plan your wedding, Draco." Theo clapped him on his back.
"Bold of you to assume that you would be able to do that. For all I know, you will have Hufflepuff colours as the theme." Draco rolled his eyes.
"How about a game of Truth and Dare? After all, that game helped you two to get together." Blaise asked them.
The other three nodded and sat down. "So, Draco... Truth or Dare?"
"Dare." Draco said.
"I dare you to turn yourself into a ferret." Blaise smirked at him.
They laughed when Draco groaned at that.
