Hermione

Hermione was sitting in a conpartment with her friends as the Hogwarts express sped along when there was a knock on the door. Hermione looked up to see none other than Draco Malfoy. Before she could say anything Ron spoke up.

"What do you want, Malfoy?" He snarled

"I'm here for Granger. Professor McGonagall would like to speak with us in her conpartment." Draco said, somewhat calmly.

"Don't you dare touch her Malfoy"

Suddenly Hermione spoke up,

"Ron stop it. McGonagall wants to talk to me, and so what if its with him"

Ron looked as though he would explode, but before he could say anything Hermione stood up and walked out the door. She looked at Draco expectantly and they started walking to the front of the train together without talking. Once they reached the door to McGonagalls compartment Draco spoke,

"Granger, before we go in there I just want to say I'm sorry for everything that I did to you for the last seven years."

Hermione didnt know what to do, she just stood there shocked and before anyone could say anything else Draco opened the door. As they walked in she noticed that proffesor McGonagall was seated behind a desk gesturing for the two of them to take the seats opposite her. As they sat down McGonagall spoke up.

"Hello Mr malfoy, miss granger. I have summoned you here to talk about what being head boy and girl means. For the remainder of the train ride you will be sharing the heads compartment and discuss duties and once we get to Hogwarts it will be your jobs to make sure that everyone gets off the train and up to the school. Neither of you will be sleeping in your house dormitories either - you will be sleeping in your own private dormitory on the fourth floor. No one will be able to get on there except you to and anyone you allow to come in. Any questions?"

Draco spoke up first, surprising Hermione.

" why me proffesor? Why not choose someone like potter or weasly as head boy?"

Her answer was simple:

"Everyone deserves a second chance. Everyone including you Mr Malfoy."

After a few more questions had been answered the two left to go and grab their luggage. As Hermione walked into her friends compartment Ron stood and said,

"Where are you going?"

"The heads compartment." She replied

"With Malfoy, your not serious"

"I am ron, now I will see you at dinner. Goodbye"

With that she turned on her heel and walked out of the compartment and towards the feont of the train. Draco was already in the compartment eating a green apple, he looked up at her as she stowed her luggage away above the seats. Hermione ignored him and started reading her book, while he layer down trying to go to sleep.

About half an hour later Hermione looked over at Draco and could see how peaceful he looked while sleeping - no clenched jaws or lines of worry on his face, just his eyes closed and his body relaxed. She could easily see his defined muscles through the sleeves of his shirt - it fit him perfectly - showing off all the right thi-

"I know you're staring Granger - I can feel it"

Hermione felt her face heat up so she went back to reading her book.

"I don't know what you mean Malfoy"

Hermione heard him chuckle from his spot across from her, but continued to read. This went on for a few moments before Draco sat up and said,

"Tell me about yourself Granger."

"Why would I do that?"

"God, now I'm hurt"

"Sorry, what do you want to know?"

"Are we going to get along this year and why were you checking me out"

"First off, I will quite happily get along with you - to make this year easier, but also to maybe become friends with you. Secondly, who says I was checking you out?"

"You know you were."

"Fine maybe I was. Its your fault though"

"Umm.... Excuse me?"

"Don't wear things that fit you so well if you dont want me staring"

What would be the fun in that"

Hermione groaned, and walked into the small bathroom attatched to their compartment so that she could get changed into her robes.

"Where do you think your going? We are not done yet."

Hermione looked at Draco and told him to start making the rounds - since he was already dressed - and that she was going to get changed.

A few hours later they were in the great hall watching the first years be sorted into their houses when McGonagall stood up in front of everhone to say the headmasters - or in this case headmistress's - welcome speech.

"Hello and welcome to all of our new and old students. As some of you already know last years 7th years will be joining this years new ones - this is so they can complete their education. Now I would like to introduce you to our Head Boy and Head Girl. For head girl we have, Hermione Granger. And for head boy we have, Draco Malfoy."

Both Gryffindor and Slytherin tables erupted in cheers with a few extras coming from the ravenclaw table - Luna and cho of course.
