Chapter 22: Strange Feelings
So sorry for the wait on this chapter. If you forgot what happened, I suggest going back to the last chapter and reading it. Or else this chapter would be slightly confusing.
Chapter 22: Strange Feelings
From the impact of Jordan's large fist to my cheek, I was thrown roughly to the concrete of my drive way. I gasped at the pain I felt from my palms and knees, but when I reached up to feel my cheek, I whimpered. I tried to hold it in, but I couldn't. A couple tears fell from my eyes, and the rest was just a river I could barely keep secured.
“Savvy!” I heard from all around me.
I couldn't look up. I just stared at my now bloody palms that got scratched from the fall. I felt a light touch at my chin, forcing myself to make eye contact with a pair of soft brown eyes.
“Savannah are you alright?”
“Yes, Matt, I'm fine... I just need a few band-aids and I'm good.” I whispered and slowly sat up from my position on the ground. Two pairs of hands grabbed each of my arms and I was pulled up to my feet gently. It wasn't that serious... I mean I could feel the large bruise forming on my face, probably in the form a fist, but that was my fault.
How could I be so stupid to throw myself in front of a fast moving fist of steel. Yes, that's exactly what Jordan's fist felt like when it collided with my lower cheek.
“I-I'm so sorry S-Savannah.” To my left, I saw a very concerned and conflicted Jordan who stood wobbly, staring in shock at his fist. I tried to see where Vincent was, but I saw that he was already staring at me when I looked to my right. But he wasn't staring directly into my eyes, more like the giant forming bruise. His fists were clenched at his sides still, but he seemed more angry than before.
“Don't speak to her! Haven't you done enough? You were the one that started this and look what happened. We come back to her house after a nice afternoon without you sticking your nose in everything and then you come yelling out your lungs to the whole world, trying to find out our business. And guess what? Mission complete, but look what happened in the process.” Vincent sneered. He started to make a move for Jordan, but no way was this going to happen again.
“Stop!” I shrugged off Will's and Sam's hands on my shoulder's, when I realized they were holding me back. “Stop it right now! That was just cruel Vincent! You don't have to say that to him. I will not have another bruise on my other cheek because of both your childish behaviors!”
Vincent looked at me sharply and replied with a growl, “I would never hurt you. I'm not stupid to pick a fight for the dumbest reasons, but if it's for you, I will.”
At this, my cheeks were beet red, beside from the purple on the left side of my face. Jordan murmured something that I couldn't understand, but he stuffed his hands in his pockets and looked at me with regret.
Jordan mumbled another sorry, this time without the stutters. But I still heard the shock in his voice. I tried not to sigh deeply. This was not how I expected my afternoon to be like.
“Oh, and what about Jordan?” I yelled with my hands on my hips.
“He deserves getting hit after what he has done to you. He deserved it even before he took a swing and accidentally hit you instead. The idiot-” Vincent cut himself off, and his anger and attention back to Jordan. He was about to open his mouth again, but my voice stopped him from saying another word.
“Don't talk to each other, because all that ever happens when you talk, it turns into an argument. I've had it with you two! If this is about some girl, then why can't you tell me her name and I'll try to talk to her. Does she realize what she is doing to you?”
“No, she doesn't. But she probably will... soon.” Jordan murmured with his head still down. This was a new emotion for him. Not once have I seen Jordan with his head down, it was always up and he always had a smirk or a grin that stayed on his face.
“Well you better tell her now, because this-” I motioned my hands around in circles at them, “-Is going nowhere.”
Vincent gave a hard stare to Jordan before slowly backing up. Good, this is good. I sighed in relief. I saw Jordan's head still down with shame and I went up to him. Will tried to grab me and say “Let him be.” but I wasn't having it.
“Jordan...” He didn't look up. I rolled my eyes. “C'mon, it wasn't all your fault. Part of the blame is for me since I jumped into action without thinking. Some nerd I am right?” I laughed, trying to make him laugh a little at least. And he did.
“Heh, I guess you are a nerd. But you are my nerd.” He smiled and stood up straight. He wrapped an arm around my neck and led me to my door. “Let's get you cleaned up. Even giving you a million or a trillion apologies- to me it will never be enough. Go to the bathroom and get your first aid.”
I was kind of flattered by Jordan's words and was astonished on how quickly he recovered. I nodded slowly, still not making sense of what he said. I walked slowly to the bathroom and on the way I almost crashed into a wall.
I just got into the bathroom when I heard something from behind me. I looked over my shoulder and saw Sam, who closed the bathroom door behind him. “Hey.” he said.
“Hey.”
“I came to help you. You were uh- taking a while.” He grinned and reached up to get the first aid I had on one of the top shelves in the bathroom.
“Thanks.” I smiled and was about to slide past him to go back to the foyer where Jordan and the others were waiting. Oh god, If Vincent and Jordan were left in the same room with each other.. I gasped at the thought. I imagined my house ruined to the grounds and all was left would be the two still going at it. I shivered when I thought of what my mom's facial expression would look like and what would most likely happen when she would see the damage. Besides the house being ruined, so would I.
“Wait, what's the rush?” Sam pulled on my arm with a pout and shifted us around so that he was blocking the door completely. He wasn't letting me through.
“What do you mean? The guys are out there, more specifically, Vincent and Jordan! What do you think would happen if they were left together without me stopping them?” I asked in exasperation. I glared at him with crossed arms. I was ready to scream if he didn't let me go.
“Of I know what would happen, but you are forgetting these two always get in fights. Even before you were around. Even when I wasn't around. Will and Matt are always there to get between them and knows what's best.” Sam raised an eyebrow at me and smiled when I started to calm down a little, “And plus, Vincent left. He was gone as soon as Jordan took you into the house. He was angry.” Sam laughed and I just shook my head in annoyance.
“I can't believe he didn't bother to say goodbye to me, he's such a hot head! Are guys ever going to tell me about this girl?” I couldn't help but let jealousy run into my voice and I felt kind of sad on the inside. The envy to be this girl was strong, I wanted to know what was so special about her. Probably had big boobs and great hair, with a nice butt. Yeah, that was probably it, I thought as I gazed in the mirror on the wall that displayed my reflection.
“Definitely. In fact, I'll tell you who the girl is right now.” He grinned devilishly. A flash of unknown emotion went across his eyes and I looked up at him with large amounts anxiousness pouring out of me.
“Tell me! Tell me!” I demanded and tugged on his expensive T-shirt. He chuckled and pulled me in close. His hot breath came next to my ear and I was practically bouncing on my feet in anticipation. He was quiet for a while and I looked at him in confusion and impatience.
“Her name can't be that long to think about right?” I growled and when I stared at him again, which was hard since his face was basically shoved in my neck. His eyes were closed, and his lips were tilted up. Sam was enjoying this way too much.
“Relax,” He laughed and wrapped me in his arms. I saw his eyes open, but he did not lean back. I didn't say anything of this and continued to tug on his shirt.
“Who is she?” I pouted. Who would have known that I would have been so desperate. I pleaded and begged, my level of impatience very high.
“Her name is Savannah Brookes.” Sam grinned and he moved slightly away, but our noses touched. The small space between us was starting to get even more uncomfortable.
I gasped and felt as if I was going to cry, “Her name just has to be my name! What luck!”
Sam rolled his eyes and plucked me right between the eyes, to which I squeaked at. “No Savvy, it's you.” Then the most unexpected happened.
He came closer than before, our chests pushed up against each other and lips only a breath away.
“W-what are you doing?!”
“Kissing you.” He grinned, before leaning down and pulling me into a long one-sided kiss. His lips were plush and full against mine, and I couldn't help but move against them. Just as that happened, I pulled away harshly and shoved him back. I quickly wiped my mouth with the back of my hand. Tears were evident in my eyes and with the gap he left with the door, I pushed past him and ran out. All the way to my bedroom.
I can't believe him! To take advantage of me in that situation. I was too busy crying into my pillow to notice my door creak open.
“Savannah?” The voice said softly.
"Leave me alone!" I cried, my words slightly muffled by the pillow. When the room stayed silent, I turned around slightly to see a figure in my room. The room was sort of dark and what I could make out was long brown familiar hair and a small body.
I almost cried out again as I jumped out of my bed and into my mom's arms. "Mommy..." I whimpered and she rubbed my back soothingly. She whispered quiet words into my ear to calm me down and soon I was just sniffling and hiccuping every now and then.
"Are you ready to tell me what happened?" She asked with a gentle tone. Her hand was still on my back and she moved us toward my bed, so that we could sit down.
I sighed and nodded my head, asking her, "When did you come home?"
She laughed slightly and said, "I have always been here. My car was parked in the garage." My ears and cheeks suddenly went pink and I hid my face in her neck. Again she laughed, "Now tell me what happened to my baby."
