Chapter 10: Unaccepted Apologies with a sprinkle of Forgiveness
Samson and I had got to know each other for the past, something minutes that we sat there on the couch. I was just telling him about myself moving here and going to the high school for the first time, but I was cut off when someone stormed into the room. They stood there shaking slightly, in a pissed off kind of way. My curious eyes drifted up to meet their fiery eyes, and met with Vincent's.
“What do you think you're doing Savannah?”
“Chatting with a friend!” I smiled brightly up at him as he glared at me and Samson, which sparked more when he heard my reply.
“Get away from him,” He said, placing his glare only on Samson this time.
“Why? Can't I talk to my friend?” My smile faded and was replaced with my own glare.
“He. Is. Not. Your. Friend!” Vincent almost yelled
Just when I was about to yell something back at him, most likely going to curse, Samson rested his hand on my leg to stop me from doing so. Then he spoke, “Look Vincent, I know you are still angry at me for what happened in the past, but I'm sorry. Even if we don't become friends again, that doesn't mean I can't be friends with this little cutie right here!”
My face heated up into a tomato like color and I immediately hid my face from both of them. Vincent was glare was murderous as he stared at me and Samson had a fat smirk on his face, his eyes soft though as he stared at me.
“Savannah, you don't know what happened between us! Don't become friends with this dirty lying, backstabbing asshole that will only do the same to you!” Vincent pleaded angrily, looking at me with disbelief and shock when he heard my next words.
“I already know Vincent!”
The room went quiet, Vincent not saying a word. With a glance towards Samson, I gave him a small smile. “Samson, you have a car right?”
He furrowed his eyebrows before muttering, “Yes...”
“Do you think you can take me home, I'm kind of stuck here and the guys won't take me.” I said standing up, Samson following.
“Savannah..” Vincent whispered walking towards me, trying to reassure me.
“NO! I just want to go home, what happened between you and Samson shouldn't be none of my business, and whether or not him and I are friends is none of yours!” I snapped, and stomped off to where I thought the front door was.
Samson didn't mutter a word and neither did Vincent. I turned around to catch them having a stare off with each other, Vincent looking like he might pounce of Samson at any second. He broke off the staring contest, when he caught me looking.
“So that's it huh? You're going to pick him over me?!” Vincent half yelled.
I sighed in annoyance and frustration, tugging at the ends of my wavy brown hair, “No Vincent, stop acting like we are boyfriend and girlfriend. I am not picking him over you, in fact I am not picking him either. Both of you are friends and that's it. There is no picking sides what so ever, because you both would mean the same to me.” I know I just met Samson, but I felt this sort of connection to be his friend. Vincent, with the way he's been acting towards me, didn't seem like a friend, but I think of him like that anyways.
I found the front door and before I could put my hand on the handle, four people walked around the corner that lead into the foyer. Jordan was the first person to see Samson standing there behind me, and his eyes changed from being filled with shock to excitement.
“Samson you're back!” He grabbed Samson in a tight man-hug kind of thing and patted him on the shoulder. “Can't believe you're here, when did you come back?”
“U-Uh, a couple days ago.” Wow, so he came when I did. What a coincidence.
“I thought I told you to never come back here!” Some one growled, coming up to us.
When I looked up, I saw Ryan and his angry expression dropped. A large grin spread on his lips and a laugh came out of them. “Haha, I'm joking man,” He said humorously when he saw the fear in Samson's face. “Welcome back, didn't think I’d ever see you again.”
Ryan and Samson shook hands and behind him came a younger version of Ryan with a smile on his face, “What's up?”
“Nothing man, what happened to you?” Samson asked incredulously, gaping at a slightly confused Matt.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, you've bulked up some! You got more muscle then the last time I saw you,” Samson grinned and Matt returned it, but it fell of his face, when Samson gave him a noogy on the head. Matt was shorter than Samson by about three inches, so that's what gave Samson the advantage.
I guess they all still cared about Samson even after what he did to Vincent. I mean, the girl was a slut, how could you be mad at the guy? My thoughts diminished about everyone being happy about Samson's sudden return, when Will stepped up.
“So you just think now that time has passed by, that everyone would just forgive you for what you've done?” Will snarled into Samson's face.
Samson backed up with both his hands in the air, “It wasn't my intentions, really. I just wanted to apologize because I was sorry, I have been ever since the night it happened.”
“Oh yeah? That sounds like a load of bull to me!” He snapped, throwing a death glare towards Samson.
I butted in before the fists would fly, which I was sure would be soon. “Will, calm down. He's sorry, okay? There is no reason to have a grudge against him!”
“You don't understand-” He tried to say, but I didn't let him. I cut his words off.
“No, I do. Samson told me the story, I know!” I all but yelled at him. I just wanted to go home.
Will walked closer to me and grabbed me by shoulders, a little roughly, must I say. “He told you, HIS side of the story. Do you even know Vincent's?”
My lips parted and I realized that I didn't but, I believed Samson. He wouldn't lie to me, he didn't leave any part of the story out. Did he? No, I didn't want to believe that. I know he told me the truth. I glanced over at where Vincent was and saw that his back turned away from everyone. His fists clenched at his sides.
“No I don't,” I shook my head in answer to Will and continued, “But I do trust Samson, I know I just met him, but I trust him.”
I know he was going to open his mouth to probably say the same exact words that Vincent told me, but I held my hand up, “Don't.”
I turned my attention to the rest of the guys, who were all staring blankly at me, Jordan stood out the most as he looked as if he were in deep thought. “Bye guys, see ya at school.” I said quickly, grabbing Samson's hands and pulling him out the door. I didn't wait for any of their responses. I practically ran down the long drive way to a car I guessed was Samson's, almost dragging him. I didn't want any of the guys to forcibly snatch me back inside the house, so that's why I rushed.
Samson's car was unlocked and I sighed in relief, letting my death grip on Samson's hand go. Getting inside of the beautiful car, which was some black sleek beauty I've never seen before, I looked back at the house. The door still wide open, the guys visibly still standing their in almost shock. I was glad none of them ran after me.
When Samson got in the car, he gave me a sweet smile, before turning on the car's engine which started with an almost silent purr. After I told him my address, neither of us spoke for the rest of the drive. I looked out the window, watching the tree's blur by, and other things that caught my attention. Today had been filled with so much drama, I could barely keep up. Now with Samson back, there was bound to be much more.
