Kari let out a groan and looked around. She was on a mat and in a cave. The cave walls had a few shelves each lined with items that were blurry to Kari's sight. The girl groaned and slowly sat up. As she did so she felt a movement on her chest sliding down. A soft blanket. Kari grinned weakly then went to feel her right eye. There was an eye patch over it. All of her wounds, most of which were re-opened from the battle at Thriller bark. Kari painfully stood to her feet and limped towards the exit, her left eye only open half way. Upon looking outside Kari gasped. Everything was sparkling with gems and crystals. It was like a jewel paradise. Kari stepped out of the cave she was in and looked to her right to see a light blue pillar with an identical pillar to her left. Ahead of her was a gigantic fountain three, big enough for the whole crew to use each layer as a pool, made of sapphire and spewing sparkling clear water. Kari froze in shock then looked above her to see that there was a hard glass ceiling that was attached to eight crystal pillars in a circle. The class ceiling looked to be coned shape and lined with gold.
"Oh. So you're awake at last." Kari heard off to her left. The girl looked towards the feminine voice and saw a majestic quadrupedal dragon.
The dragon had shimmering light silver scales with golden spheres with swirling tails on her breast bone. She had kind, oval shaped eyes that were a bright sapphire blue with gold pupils and platinum colored lining, her snout loosely resembled a dulled rectangle. Her claws were platinum colored and her flame-gold wings with shimmering gold detail were feathered and resembled falcon wings. She had two tails that were smooth and had no fins while her medium sized horns were a shimmering gold and curved like a ram's horns. Her ears resembled a fennec fox's ears and were tipped with small golden feathers. She smiled, showing her pearly white fangs towards the child. Kari just took a step back and watched.
"Do not be afraid, I mean you no harm. I am not like the others who detest humans. My name is Spiritama. Let me personally welcome you to Ehde-Dara." Spiritama chuckled and Kari blinked at the dragon.
"Ehde-Dara?" Kari asked, not remembering ever hearing of such a place. "What is this place? Is it like Dara-Dara? I've never heard of Ehda-Dara before. Mom and Dad would've told me about something like this."
"Oh, you are familiar with Dara-Dara. Well aren't you the studious little human." Spiritama chuckled then quickly changed to a serious demeanor. "Hmmm..? Oh... I see. She is? Ah. That is quite rare. Alright then, thank you." Spiritama looked at Kari and sniffed her a few times. "They never lie." She mumbled then straightened her posture. "So, Kari. You were raised by dragons, correct? That's how you know of Dara-Dara, correct?" Kari was taken aback the dragon's knowledge.
"Wait, I didn't tell you anything about me! Not even my name. How did you know that stuff?!" The girl yelped.
"I heard your parents. Darano and Chancetara." Kari widened her good eye.
"But... But they---"
"Are dead. I know. I just heard their spirits." Spiritama chuckled. "Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am Spiritama, a legendary Spirit dragon. It is nice to meet you." Kari fell over from the shock of meeting one of the legendary dragons.
"B-but I heard stories that you all died or something! You haven't been around in a long time! What happened?!" Kari yelped in confusion. Spiritama sighed then gently picked Kari up in her jaws and carried her towards a giant building. Kari swayed back and forth while spouting question after question. Soon she was put on the ground in front of a building made of white and gold pearl material with bright glass windows that had platinum window panes and an arched door way made of adams wood. Spiritama opened the doors and entered, gesturing for Kari to follow. The building was filled with nothing but books and scrolls as old as time itself. Kari gasped as the dragon then sat down on a fluffy pillow made of clouds. Kari sat with her while Spiritama grabbed a book near by, flipping through the pages until she stopped.
"Tell me," The dragon began. "Do you know what dragon blood was used for millions of years ago?"
"That doesn't really--"
"Just answer. It'll make sense later." Spiritama sighed.
Kari hummed in thought. "No... I don't know."
"It was used for medical treatment. A cure all. It was what gave us dragons our godly status and our status as a race, along with the humans and fishmen and so on. Well, among other things. We could save millions with our blood. Yet it could kill millions if not used correctly. But that blood was also our downfall, which forced us into hiding. That is why we are here. All the legendary dragons as well as others came here to Ehde-Dara, the dragon's paradise, while everyone else fled to Dara-Dara, the dragon's land." Kari nodded and Spiritama gave Kari the book to look through. "So, that is why we are here. We were forced to flee long ago."
"Spiritama!" A masculine voice echoed from outside. Spiritama shivered.
"Kari, you must hide!" Spiritama whispered.
"Why?"
"That voice belongs to Tranic, the head legendary Tragedy dragon. He detests humans with a burning passion. If he finds you he will kill you regardless if you were raised by dragons." Kari nodded and hid behind one of the shelves near by, giving Spiritama back the book.
"Spiritama!" The voice boomed again. Soon a buff, bipedal venom purple scaled dragon entered the library. He had scars all over his body and he had a dark tan belly. His claws were a shiny jet black, his eyes were triangle-like in shape and dark green with platinum pupils. His wings were bat-like and his ears were deer-like while his large steel horns curved upward dramatically. His wings were also his arms in a sense. His tail was tipped with spiked fins and his back was covered in with sharp spines and his belly had a steel colored tornado symbol.
"Yes, Tranic?" Spiritama asked.
"I over heard from a few elementals that you took in an injured human child that landed out of the blue recently, leaving a paw-print shaped crater near the edge of our island. Is that true?" Tranic growled, baring his glittering white fangs.
"Tranic, I know how much you hate humans. Why would I anger you?"
"Because you have an undying passion for those insects. They've killed us only for our blood and nothing else! They never think of their actions and only look after themselves!" Kari winced and shivered, wanting so badly to slap this Tranic, but she held back. She knew she was in no condition for a fight, but it was hard to hold back.
"Tranic... Not all humans are like that, I assure you... I actually mea--"
"Enough! I am tired of you always protecting those... Those things!" Kari growled and bit her lower lip to the point of making it bleed. Tears began to build in her eyes, but not from pain.
"Tranic just--"
"No! You should talk with Unarchuru about this obsession!"
"Tranic, humans are not--"
"Are not what Spiritama?! Murders?! Monsters?! TRAITORS?! Because they are! I'm still amazed that you look at them the way you do! That you watch their news reports, read their papers, and whatever else you do. We trusted them millions of years ago! You surely haven't forgotten the--"
"STOP IT" Kari called, zooming out of her hiding place, blood dripping down her chin. The two dragons looked towards her.
"Kari!" Spiritama gasped, horror present in her kind, motherly eyes. Tranic smirked evilly and advanced towards Kari.
"Well, if it isn't the human." He mumbled in a low tone. Kari growled.
"I'm not a human! Not like the ones you talk about!" Kari yelled, her voice cracking. "I know what they are like! I've seen it! I'm not like that!"
"How should I trust you?! You are nothing to me, not even good enough to be the dirt under my foot. Why should I even bother listening to you?!"
"Because... Because..." Kari lowered her voice a little bit and looked down, thinking of what to say.
Tranic growled. "Well?!"
Kari gritted her teeth then glared at the opposing giant, no fear in her eyes, only courage. "Because, I'm a DRAGON!" The girl boomed, her voice echoing. Tranic blinked a few times then began to laugh hysterically. "You laugh now but just you wait! I'll be a strong Alpha just like my dad! No, STRONGER! I'll be come stronger than you and the other legendary dragons AND the ancient dragon! I'll bring peace between all the dragons and then I'll help dragons and humans get along! I SWEAR!!" Kari screamed. Tranic stopped laughing then lowered his head to be at eye level with Kari, glaring at her.
"What makes you think that I will consider you my Alpha?"
"I don't. Not right now anyway. But one day, I'm sure you'll understand and accept me." Kari stated in a low tone, not removing her gaze from his, returning his glare. The room was silent as the human and the dragon stared dead center in each other's eyes. Tranic sighed.
"You are an odd one. I guess I won't kill you." He chuckled in a low tone. "Watching you struggle could be amusing." With that said he left the library. Kari groaned and fell to her knees, gripping her stomach.
"Kari, your wounds, you shouldn't be pushing yourself like this." Spiritama said with a worried expression. Kari chuckled weakly.
"You said... He'd kill me... But I'm still... Breathing." She huffed, letting out a breathy chuckle. Spiritama sighed and picked Kari up and took her back to her home and tucked her in bed to rest.
When Kari woke up the next day she stretched then looked around. She saw no one so she decided to look around, despite her wounds. She limped onwards towards the central part of Ehde-Dara where she met a few elemental dragons of varying sizes and shapes. Soon Kari bumped into Spiritama. The dragon scolded her for walking around with her wounds still not healed, then sighed and showed her around the island.
"And this is the human observation room. Those who like humans come here to observe them. We learn their culture, their likes, dislikes, and many other things. We use mini-video transponder snails that send the video footage to these bigger video transponder snails who then save it to these tapes for us to view later." Kari looked around and saw all of the strange tapes of recorded video footage and the many video transponder snails that were set near screens that were labeled based on where the mini-video transponder snail was located. "We can also watch it live while recording the footage for later if we want." Spiritama said and Kari nodded happily. Spiritama then took Kari towards a large pearl staircase with marble columns on either side.
"What is this place?" Kari asked, sitting atop Spiritama's head.
"This is the meeting place of all the legendary dragons, as well as the ancient dragon. It is called Legends Hall. We gather here to discuss things that deal with dragons and what will benefit our survival. I try to have humans brought into the discussion but I'm always over ruled with more pressing topics." Spiritama informed.
"Oh. Well now I'm curious. I wanna come in with you." Kari giggled happily. Spiritama sighed.
"I would rather that you not come with me." She said in a low tone. "... But I don't have a say in the matter. You've been here only a few days and word of your arrival has spread all over the island. It has grabbed the attention of all the legendary dragons and the ancient dragon."
"So, you're saying that I'm famous." Kari chuckled and Spiritama shrugged.
"You could say that, I guess. I'm not sure if it is in a good or a bad way." The two then entered the large dome shaped building to see the legendary dragons and ancient dragon all sitting around in an oval shape on cloud pillows. Kari stared.
All of the dragons looked at her in both shock and confusion. Spiritama sat down and gulped, hoping that this ended in her favor.
