It was a bright sunny day and two of the crew were still bedridden, but that did not stop them. The two were Zoro and Kari, who sustained the most damage besides Luffy, but he somehow had no damage when he woke up from his battle with Moria. Kari and Zoro kept going to train until Chopper forced them back in bed, saying they still needed to heal. Every so often Brook would visit Kari and sing her a song happily or Robin would read Kari a book or tell her a story or finish one. Sometimes when Chopper would check up on the youngest Straw hat crew member she would pull him into a hug and nuzzle her face into his fur. Chopper would struggle but after a while he let it be since he saw it helped her relax.

Eventually the two were healed enough to walk around the ship and train. Once she was better, Kari told Luffy that she could use his abilities and the two began to train together to use some combo moves. As time went on the crew met a mermaid named Camie and a talking starfish named Pappagu. The two explained that they needed help with rescuing their friend. The straw hats agreed to help happily and began to sail to where Camie directed. Once the crew arrived they noticed who they were saving. Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Nami, and Usopp grumbled in disgust. They saw a caged fishman who was named Hatchi. Apparently some of the crew knew him already and they were not on good terms.

After a while the crew decided to save him and they got into a fight with a masked man named Duval, who looked similar to the poor sketch on Sanji's wanted poster. Duval hated Sanji for "ruining his life" and focused on killing him. Sanji quickly got annoyed and kicked Duval's face and re-arranged his bone structure. Duval was so happy with his new face that he and his crew became allies with the straw hats and Duval gave Sanji his transponder-snail number incase he ever needs help. The crew made their way towards Sabaody once again and enjoyed some Octopus fritters made by Hatchi, Camie, and Pappug.

"Whoa! These are really good!" Kari purred happily while getting seconds.

"You mind telling me how to make the sauce?" Sanji asked.

"Sorry, that's a secret." Hatchi apologized. Sanji shrugged and continued to eat. After a good meal the crew began doing their own thing until they arrived on Sabaody.

"Whoa, really?! Dragons are really cool." Usopp said while exchanging stories with Chase. The dragon chuckled at how fascinated Usopp was with his stories.

"Stay rooted to the ground, Kari. If an opponent makes you lose your footing you've pretty much lost. Try and make them lose their footing." Zoro stated while helping Kari train. Kari nodded and tried her best to stay well rooted, but Zoro knocked her over with ease. "Again." He huffed and Kari got to her feet. This continued for a while until Kari got it down and was not knocked down. Zoro smirked. "Good job. It only took thirty times. I'm impressed." Kari chuckled but was knocked down. "You let your guard down." Zoro chuckled lightly.

"Danm it..." Kari mumbled then got back up and continued to train. Sanji watched Zoro and Kari train, growling as he watched Kari get knocked down over and over, hating that she was getting hurt.

Soon the crew crowded around Hatchi, Camie, and Pappug as they explained about Sabaody. Luffy gasped. "AMUSEMENT PARK?!" He called happily. Kari tilted her head in confusion.

"What's that?" She asked in confusion.

"That's right. You've never heard of an amusement park, being raised by dragons and all." Robin blinked then chuckled as she started to explain an amusement park, but Luffy cut her off and began to explain. Kari gasped.

"THAT SOUNDS SO COOL!!" Kari's smile grew.

"I KNOW, RIGHT?!" Luffy laughed as his excitement grew.

Soon the crew dropped anchor in Grove 41 and they went their own way.

"Kari!!" Usopp called and Kari turned around. "Remember your jet skis and jet board from Skypiea?"

Kari nodded. "Yeh."

"Well I modified them for you. I added jet dials to them and kinda changed the way they looked to fit your style a bit better." Usopp smiled. "The board is in your room, Robin took it. Here are the skis." Usopp handed Kari a pair of navy blue slip on shoes with holes on the bottoms of the soles and sides of the shoes. Kari smiled happily.

"Thanks Usopp, you're so thoughtful!" She giggled then put the modified jet skis in her knapsack then hugged the long nosed teen and walked off.

Luffy, Chopper, Kari, Chase, Camie, Pappagu, Robin, Brook, Nami, Hatchi, and Chase went to explore the island while the others stayed behind on the Sunny. Chase hid in Kari's knapsack for the time being while Hatchi and Camie dressed themselves as normal people and Hatchi covered the mark on his forehead. The octopus fishman said to treat him and Camie like normal people while on Sabaody. Back at the ship Zoro left to explore on his own.

The group soon arrived in a heavily populated area, seeing a buff man who was beat up and wearing some kind of collar. He was begging someone to take it off, but no one helped. Kari and Luffy twitched and wanted to help but Hatchi held the two back.

"Don't go near him. His collar will explode. All slaves wear them. Once they are severed from the chain they are on, it is activated."As Hatchi spoke a loud explosion sounded and Kari winced and shook at the sound, gripping onto Robin's side while shivering. Robin rubbed Kari's head and frowned lightly. They watched in horror as a woman wearing a helmet and odd clothing walked up and shot him, making sure he was dead. Luffy and Kari growled in anger. "Those two," Hatchi began, referring to the woman and the man riding on a giant like a horse who was wearing similar clothing. "Are the celestial dragons I told you about. If you get on their bad side you'll end up dead." Kari frowned.

"I thought you meant real dragons, like my big brother." She pouted. Hatchi sighed at the girl's response then led the group onwards a bar called "Shakky's Rip-Off Bar" in Grove 13, a part of the lawless lands.

"It's like they want you to know you're gonna be ripped off." Nami stated with a sigh. Hatchi walked in with everyone close behind.

"Hey Shakky, you here?" Hatchi called happily while walking in. There the group saw a lady that was beating a pirate to a bloody pulp with two others knocked out. She looked to them and puffed a bit of smoke from her cigarette.

"Huh? Oh, just a second. Let me just finish up here." She said. After a while the woman approached the group and immediately noticed Hatchi. She smiled upon seeing him. The group talked for a while then Shakky looked at the group, recognizing everyone from their wanted posters. "So, you two are the ones with bounties over one hundred million, right?" She asked, pointing to Kari and Luffy. The two nodded. "Oh, where's the dragon?" She asked and Chase popped out of Kari's knapsack and grew to his normal size..

"My big brother's there." Kari stated, pointing her right thumb towards her brother. Chase waved.

"Hi." He greeted and Shakky waved.

"Nice to meet you." She said, a little shocked that the dragon was not a gag that the government pulled. "So, I suspect that you're here to get your ship coated, right?" The group nodded. "Well, sorry to say, but Rayleigh isn't here. He's been missing for about six months now." The crew gasped in shock. "Well, it's no surprise. He's an ex-pirate so he does that." Shakky shrugged it off. "You might wanna go looking for him if you want your ship coated. He's somewhere on Sabaody I bet, most likely the amusement park if he was in Groves thirty to thirty-nine." Shakky hummed in thought.

"Alright!!" Luffy and Kari cheered in unison and the group began to head to the exit.

"We'll find him!" Luffy assured Shakky.

"Hold on." Shakky called and everyone stopped. "I should tell you that you aren't the only ones with bounties over one hundred million. There are twelve total rookie pirates such as yourselves with bounties over one hundred million beris on their heads on Sabaody. Three of which are with you, Straw hat, so that makes nine people you need to know." Shakky huffed and the group listened closely while Chase shrunk and hopped back into Kari's back, peeking his head out just enough to hear Shakky as she listed off the other pirates with bounties over one hundred million beris.

Capone "Gang" Bege: 138 million beri bounty

"The Glutton" Jewelry Bonney: 140 million beri bounty.

"Magician" Basil Hawkins: 249 million beri bounty.

"Sea Roar" Scratchmen Apoo: 198 million beri bounty.

Eustass "Captain" Kid: 315 million beri bounty.

"Red Flag" X Drake: 222 million beri bounty.

"Mad Monk" Urouge: 180 million beri bounty.

"Massacre Soldier" Killer: 162 million beri bounty.

"The Surgeon of Death" Trafalgar Law: 200 million beri bounty.

"Keep in mind, these are the cream of the crop. They, like you, survived the challenge of the Grand line. With this many rookies crossing the Red-Line at the same time, things are bound to get quite ugly in the new world."

"Hey, why does that Eustass guy have a higher bounty than Luffy?" Kari asked and Shakky looked to her.

"It's because he has no qualms with attacking innocents civilians, not very charming huh? I prefer you guys, you can count on my support, I'll be cheering for you all the way." Kari and Luffy smiled kindly then left to look for Rayleigh at the amusement park. Nami and Robin separated from the group and looked at the shops in Groves 40 to 49 while the others enjoyed the amusement park.

As time passed the group at the amusement park were having more fun than looking around. Eventually Camie, Chase, and Kari vanished and everybody panicked. Luffy, Pappagu, and Hatchi left to look for them while Brook and Chopper called the others on the ship and waited for them to arrive at the amusement park.

In Grove 1 on the archipelago in the Human Auctioning House, Kari struggled with the chains on her wrists. She hissed and snapped in anger while struggling non-stop.

"Lemme go!! Lemme go damn it!!" She screamed. "Where is Camie! She better be okay or I'll kill you!!" She roared. Kari was tossed into a cell next to an old man with glasses. She grumbled in anger then looked at the man then the giant next to him then to the ground. "Any of you know where the keys are?" Kari asked. The old man chuckled.

"If we knew that we'd be out by now, young lady." He chuckled. Kari sighed.

"Danm it..." She huffed in frustration. "Welp, there goes my whole plan."

"Hmm?" The old mad hummed and looked towards the girl.

"Ugh... Now how am I supposed to save Camie." The giant heard Kari then began laughing.

"How could you save someone when you can't even save yourself?!" Kari snapped her head towards him, a glare of pure rage plastered on her face, with her pupils as thin slits. Kari let out a loud growl which seemingly echoed. The giant stared at, fear slowly taking ahold of him the longer Kari stared at him. The old man was shocked then smirked in amusement.

"Hey, what's your name?" He asked.

"Kari... Kari Himura." The Man nodded.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Rayleigh." Kari gasped.

"The ship coater guy?! My crewmates and I were looking for you!" She called then bumped her knapsack against the wall. "Chase!! Chase wake up!!"

"Ugh... What? I didn't sleep well last night Kari. Lemme nap." Chase groaned and stumbled out of the knapsack. Everyone who was still conscious stared in shock.

"No time to explain, you mind shrinking down and picking the lock to these shackles?"

"You know good and well I can't pick locks." Chase grumbled and Kari frowned.

"Oh yeah... Then at least go look for the keys." Kari whined and Chase nodded and left the cage undetected in search for a set of keys to free Kari.

Time passed and Kari grew impatient. Her body temperature rose in unison with her rage. Everyone stared at the girl as steam rose from her body and the chains on her wrists and the explosive collar around her neck began to glow a bright red. After a while Kari saw some of the men roll a large goldfish bowl towards the stage. In it was Camie the mermaid. Kari went wide eyed and growled. Camie swam towards the glass and pressed her face on the glass. Her expression was sad and helpless.

"Kari!" She called sadly. "I'm sorry you were dragged into this!"

"Shut up!" Kari called back while rushing to her feet and getting to the bars of the cage she was in. "Don't apologize for a monster! I'll get us outta here! I promise!" Kari yelled loudly. Camie nodded and gulped as the tank she was in was covered in a tarp. Kari struggled. "Danm it! I can't just sit here anymore! Come on melt!" Kari hissed. "Camie can't be sold! She just can't!" Kari growled and struggled more, rolling on the ground. She had grown to be more open and accepting because of the straw hats and it helped that Camie was not technically a human, which Kari was still not too kind with other humans but she did give them a chance. The old man saw Kari struggling and sighed.

"... She's a fighter, I'll give her that..." He thought with a sigh.

"CHASE!! WHERE ARE YOU, DAMN IT?!!" Kari screamed in anger as a crash sounded from the stage. Kari perked at the sound and sat up. A smile grew on her face and she felt a burning liquid on her neck and wrists. Kari had melted the chains and collar that were holding her in this cage. Kari rushed out with a chuckle, melting the bars of the cage and shaking off the melted metal that lingered on her body. Kari rushed on stage, some liquid metal still present on her body, and saw a woman aiming a gun at Camie.

"Die you stupid fish!" It was the same woman from earlier that day. The celestial dragon.

"ELECTRIC SCALES!! ZAP STEP!" Kari hissed then became a blur.

"What?!" The odd woman called. Kari appeared in front of her. "Wha--"

"ZEUS FIST!" Kari roared then punched the celestial dragon in the stomach with a fist enveloped in electricity. The woman fell backwards. Kari smirked and joined the fight. After a while a lot of people fainted while foaming at the mouth. Rayleigh and the giant were free from their cages. Rayleigh walked towards Camie and freed her with just a wave of his hand. Everyone stared at him in shock and confusion. Franky, who had been sent out to get the keys to free Camie,walked back with Chase after freeing the other slaves.

Soon there were screams from outside. Kari looked towards Luffy and he exchanged glances with Sanji and Zoro. The four nodded then went outside with the other two rookie pirates that were present, Eustass Kid, and Trafalgar Law. The six stood outside and looked around. The whole building was surrounded. Kari and Luffy exchanged glances then smirked. Kari's eyes quickly flashed gold and the two rushed forward, ready to make the first move.

"Gum-gum--" They called out in unison, Luffy getting in front of Kari while she skid to a stop and leaned back slightly.

"BAZOOKA!!" Kari called and sent Luffy flying.

"STORM!!" Luffy called and attacked the marines. Law and Kid started but shook off the shock. Kari glanced back at them.

"Room." Law began with a smirk, making a blue bubble, trapping a marine and cannon ball in it. He took his sword and sliced off the man's head, yet he was still alive. "Shambles." He called then switched the cannon ball with the head. The room vanished and the ball exploded. Soon all the weapons began to move towards Kid, even Zoro's swords but the swordsman kept a tight hold on them.

"Repel!" Kid called and the weapons were sent flying back, guns firing and blades pointed towards them.

"Grr! FIRE!!" The leader called and fired at Luffy. Kari growled.

"DRAGON TECHNIQUE! DRAGON'S BREATH!!" She hissed. "ICE!!" Kari called, puffed her cheeks out then looked up at the cannon ball and froze it. Luffy smirked then kicked it hard to the ground where it shattered and exploded.

Soon everyone was escaping and the Straw hats were running for their lives back to the Thousand Sunny, thankfully Rayleigh gave them all bits of his vivre card so they could find him when the coating was finished. As the crew scattered in different directions, something blocked their way.

"Isn't that the bear guy we met on Thriller bark?! The guy with the paw pads!" Sanji called. Zoro nodded but Kari shook her head.

"No, he smells different!" Kari called then the fake Kuma shot a laser from his hand towards the Straw hats. The crew scattered to dodge. They eventually defeated the fake Kuma only to have another show up. The crew stared at the second Kuma and grumbled in pain. They turned to escape but they stood no chance as a Navy admiral named Kizaru who had eaten the Glint-Glint Logia type Devil Fruit which gave him the ability to manipulate light as well as made his body light and a man named Sentomaru who was supposedly the most defensive man alive arrived on the scene.

"D-danm... " Zoro called, coughing up some blood. Kari groaned in pain while trying to stay standing. The crew looked towards the fake Kuma as it was about to deal the finishing blow to Zoro, but he vanished to reveal the real Kuma. Kari stared and widened her eyes, her right eye not opening fully.

"Did Kuma save Zoro?" Kari thought but then saw the bear-eared man raised his padded hand to Zoro and hit him, making Zoro vanish.Everyone assumed Zoro was dead. Next was Brook, then Usopp, Sanji, Chase, Franky, Nami, and finally Robin. Now Kuma was making his way towards Kari.

"NO!!" Luffy called as he began to run towards Kari, but he stumbled over his own feet and he was too far away to do anything.

"... Do you wish to remember?" Kuma asked upon reaching the girl. Kari sniffled as tears and snot streamed down her face. She had watched the only humans she trusted with her life seemingly die right in front of her as well as her older brother. Kari hiccuped and shook her head.

"... N-no..." Kari said. Kuma sighed then prepared for an attack.

"Very well then... You will never see them again... Good-bye, Kari Kana D Himura."

"Wait, what di--" Kari vanished before she could finish her sentence. Luffy tried to save her, like with everyone else, but he was not fast enough.

"KARI!!" Luffy called in despair. "... No... My whole crew... G-gone... " He fell to his knees. "I-I COULDN'T S-SAVE ANY OF THEM!! I COULDN'T SAVE MY FRIENDS!!!" Soon after he fell to his knees, the captain of the straw hats vanished the same way his crew did.
