Goku stared at the potara earring. "Will this really work?"

"Of course it will!" The old kai said. "This fusion will be much better and stronger than the one you learned from the metamorians."

"How come I never knew about this?" Shin asked.

"Seems you missed out on a good deal of training when Majin Buu killed the other kais." The old kai said. "Why don't you go ahead and give it a try."

"Okay." The supreme kai said handing Kibito one of his earrings. Kibito put it on the opposite ear and they were immediately drawn together. With a flash of light the fused kai was standing before them. He looked like Shin with Kibito's long hair. "Wow I feel great! I want to fight too!"

"No, even though you are stronger you are still no match for Majin Buu." The old kai said.

"How long does the fusion last?" Goku asked.

"There is no time limit on it. It is permanent, once you fuse you will be stuck with that body forever." The old kai explained how he was tricked by an old witch when he was younger. They fused and that's why he looks the way he does.

"You could have told us that before we fused!" The supreme kai snapped.

"Oh man I guess I gotta choose between Mae and Gohan." Goku said. "Mae would probably be more compatible cause she has the same talent I do. Maybe we should be super saiyan three when we fuse."

"No be in your base forms." The old kai said. "Once you fuse you can never power down. You probably won't need super saiyan but if you do I'm sure that you will be able to use it."

Mae tried to get up, "I have to help Gohan." She stammered pulling the shreds of her tank top off, revealing her black sports bra. She collapsed back to the ground.

"Mae I will heal you." Dende said putting his hands on her. "I don't think Gohan can last much longer."

Once Mae was healed they watched as Buu threw Gohan up and slammed him into the ground. "Help him." Mae said to Dende.

She powered up to super saiyan three and charged at Majin Buu. "How are you still alive?" He asked looking from her to Gohan. He saw Dende healing Gohan and pieced it together. "Ah the Namekian. I'll have to do something about him." He said launching an energy beam at Dende.

"Don't you dare!" Mae growled smacking the energy beam away.

"You keep getting in my way, girl!" Buu roared kicking Mae to where Gohan was standing. She crashed right into her twin and they both hit the ground. "Take this!" He said holding a ball of energy out. As he launched it another energy beam came from somewhere knocking it away.

"Who?" Mae and Gohan said at the same time looking around.

"Hey Mae, Gohan. You two have grown up haven't you." Tien said jumping up on a rock.

"Woah hey Tien." Mae said.

"So you managed to survive." Gohan grinned.

Buu frowned at Tien and sent an energy blast at him. Tien jumped away dodging the attack. He brought his hands together and targeted Buu. "Tri beam ha!"

The blast hit Buu directly but when the smoke cleared he was still standing. Buu brought his hands up over his head and formed a huge energy ball. "This will be enough to destroy you all!"

"Gohan we gotta stop him!" Mae said bringing her hands to her side.

Goku suddenly appeared and formed a disc and sliced Buu in half. His antenna fell in two pieces and his legs landed near Tien. "I won't let you hurt anyone else!" He yelled.

Buu turned and faced Goku. "I know you. You were wise to sneak up on me but you are still no match."

"I have something that will be able to beat you." Goku grinned. "You are going to face justice for everyone you killed."

"Oh am I now?" Buu laughed. "Let me remind you of my power." His bottom half moved and kicked Tien into a rock knocking him out. His lower half then flew up and merged with the top.

"I think you are just nervous." Goku said. "I mean you were pretty quick about fixing yourself."

"Dad how are you here?" Mae asked. He didn't have a halo anymore so some how he had been revived.

"It's a long story. Mae I want you to take this and fuse with me!" Goku said holding out the potara.

"Fuse with you?" Mae asked. "No way!"

"We don't have time for you to be stubborn." Goku groaned.

"I won't do it!" Mae snapped. "Fuse with Gohan."

"Fine!" Goku sighed. "Here Gohan catch. Put it on your right ear." He tossed Gohan the potara and it went over his head and into the rocks behind him. "Oh crap!"

"Nice catch." Mae said.

"Shut up and help me look for it!" Gohan said as he went to grab the earring. "I can't find it!" He said digging through the rocks.

"Gohan hurry up!" Goku yelled powering up to super saiyan three. The two of them took off fighting while the twins continued to search.

"How could you not have caught that?!" Mae asked moving a rock.

"I didn't see you leaping to catch it!" Gohan snapped back.

"Oh yea cause dad said 'Mae catch.' No he said 'Gohan catch.' You should have grabbed it." Mae said moving some dirt.

"Can you two quit your bickering?!" Goku yelled as Buu smashed him into a boulder. Goku used his instant transmission to get away as Buu punched at the rock. He quickly turned around and instead of launching an energy blast at Goku he sent one at Mae and Gohan, blasting the area they were looking at.

"There it is!" Mae pointed as the potara shot out and into more rubble.

"Why didn't you grab it?!" Gohan asked.

"Oh I'm sorry Gohan I didn't realize I was the earring grabber!" Mae said sarcastically.

"You can be so immature!" Gohan snapped.

"Stop it you two!" Goku yelled. Suddenly Majin Buu grabbed his head and started yelling. His clothes changed from the vest to the armor Piccolo wears. "Hah looks like Gotenks' fusion has worn off. You are more Piccolo now."

"I found it!" Gohan said holding the potara. "You said right ear?"

"Wait we don't need it." Goku smirked. "He's lost over a third of his power. We can beat him with the three of us."

"Are you serious?!" Mae asked. "We searched for that stupid earring for nothing?!"

"Haha I guess not." Goku laughed.

"Whatever." Mae sighed crossing her arms. Suddenly the two pieces of Buu snuck up on Mae and Gohan and surrounded them. "Ahh! Gross get it off!"

"Crap!" Gohan yelled trying to get the goo off.

"You should have paid more attention." Buu said showing his antenna. "Parts of me were still missing. Now I'll have both the twins." The pink blobs flew to Buu and were absorbed. His clothing changed to an orange gi with a black undershirt. "Such strong children! I suppose this is where you end, father."

"Damn it!" Goku swore. 'Mae should have just fused with me when I told her to. Now I don't have anyone to fuse with!'

"You know they resent you for leaving. Especially Mae, when you abandoned her she was hurt beyond belief." Buu taunted.

"That won't work on me!" Goku yelled.

"Oh I think it will." Buu laughed. "You turned your back on them and now you are failing to save them yet again."

Goku ignored Buu and looked to where Dende and Mr. Satan were watching. "I need to fuse with someone."

"Fine, I'll give you five seconds to do your little fusion." Buu said. "One!"

'I can't fuse with Dende. We need him for the dragon balls and I think his height would hinder more than help.' Goku thought as Buu continued to count. 'Mr. Satan won't work either since he doesn't know how energy works. At least he has some sort of martial arts training.'

"Five!" Buu said. "You are out of time."

Suddenly Goku felt a familiar energy, "there! I can fuse with him!" He said using his instant transmission and appeared in front of Vegeta and Baba. "Vegeta, boy am I glad to see you!"

"Kakarot?!" Vegeta blinked in surprise. "How are you here?"

"Where is your halo?" Baba asked equally surprised.

"It's a long story. I need you to take this so we can fuse!" Goku said holding out the potara. "Hurry he's coming!"

"You expect me to fuse with you?" Vegeta asked. "I don't think so. I can take on Majin Buu without your help."
