The crowd continued to cheer for Mr. Satan. It seemed like forever before he finally worked up the courage to face Trunks. He made a big show as he came out but Trunks stood there unfazed.

"Hey do you guys want to go get something to eat?" Krillin asked.

"Sure that sounds good." Goku said as they all followed him.

"Wait don't you guys want to watch my dad fight so you can learn his technique?" Videl asked.

"Oh! That's a great idea!" Gohan said. "Mae do you want to stay too?"

"Nah. I'm not really worried about it." Mae waved her hand and followed behind Vegeta. They headed to the waiting area hoping they would have better food than the vendors.

"Mae didn't you want to stay with your friend?" Goku asked his daughter.

"She's not my friend." Mae said flatly.

"Do you have any other friends here?" He asked.

"I don't have friends." Mae brushed her hair back wishing she had put it up.

"You don't have any friends?!" Goku asked surprised.

"Friends are pointless and they get in the way." She said as they approached the waiting area.

"Hold it! This is for athletes only." The guard said.

"Oh we are qualifiers." Krillin grinned.

"Oh can I have your names then?" He asked. One by one they gave their names. Piccolo was using another name, Ma Junior. "Alright everything looks in order. Please enjoy yourselves. There is a banquet and also several amenities to help you relax."

"So Goku, what are you going to do with your winnings?" Krillin asked.

"Well I don't really need the money since I'll be going back to the other world." Goku said.

"You know Goku if you need someone to hang on to it for you, I'll gladly do it." Krillin laughed.

"Don't you mean my winnings." Mae said.

"Mae you are so funny!" Krillin chuckled

Goku laughed. "you know Krillin you could come with me."

"Nah I've got a family to look after." Krillin replied.

Mae frowned, they had finally made it to the banquet hall. They all sat down and Mae, Goku, and Vegeta proceeded to eat an enormous amount of food. Shortly after, Gohan and Videl arrived and told them how Mr. Satan has let Trunks win. Mae raised an eyebrow at this but Gohan gave her a desperate look. So she shrugged and went back to eating. Gohan joined them and the plates began to stack even higher.

"Man I am stuffed!" Goku said as they headed to the name drawing area.

"Videl you didn't eat anything." Gohan said.

"You do realize that most people don't stuff their faces before a match." Krillin said.

"Oh haha I guess that's true." Gohan said.

"Who are those guys?" Mae asked pointing at the two people in front of them. One was a shorter man with purple skin and a white mohawk. The other was a taller man with orange skin and white hair.

"You must be Goku." The smaller man said. "I've been looking forward to fighting you."

"Huh?" Goku said confused.

"I want to test my abilities against you is all. I'm sure you understand." He said narrowing his eyes. "I would like to shake your hand."

Goku hesitated before taking his hand and shaking it. "Those guys look strong." He said as the two men walked away.

"I agree." Piccolo said, suddenly becoming very serious. They got to the drawing area and took in the other fighters, none of them looked very special except for two angry bald men. Mae was getting very weird vibes from them.

"I hope I don't have to fight any of my friends." Krillin said nervously.

"Okay looks like everyone is here!" The announcer said. "Mr. Satan is taking a break right now so he won't be here for this. When I call your name come up and pick a number. First up is The Great Saiyaman."

"Alright!" Gohan said as he trotted up. He reached in and pulled out a ball with the number 14.

"Next is Kibito." The man with the orange skin walked up and picked a number, 7.

"So his name is Kibito." Piccolo said under his breath.

"Next up is Krillin." The announcer said.

"Here I go." Krillin said nervously. He drew a number, 1. "Oh dang I have to go first!"

"Next up is Mae." The announcer said.

Mae walked up and reached in the box. She was hoping she would be able to face Goku in the first match. She grabbed a ball and pulled it out, 8. "Damn it."

"Mae is facing Kibito." Goku said.

"You'll eventually get to face dad I'm sure." Gohan said as she walked back to where they were.

"Next is Shin." The short man from before walked up. He drew the number 3.

The rest of the people came up one by one and drew numbers as well. 18 drew number 9. Spopovich was number 6. Jewel, 16. Goku, 11. Videl, 5. Pintar, 2. Vegeta, 12. Mighty Mask, 13. Piccolo, who was using the name Ma Junior, 4. Mr. Satan, 10. Yamu, 15.

"Looks like I'm facing you, Kakarot." Vegeta grinned. "Sorry Mae looks like you won't be fighting your father this time."

"Mae," Goku said. "That Kibito guy is big but I think you can handle him."

"Thanks." Mae said flatly.

"Alright looks like we have our slots filled!" The announcer said. "Krillin vs Pintar. Shin vs Ma Junior. Spopovich vs Videl. Mae vs Kibito. 18 vs Mr. Satan. Goku vs Vegeta. Saiyaman vs Mighty Mask. And finally Yamu vs Jewel!"

"Mae you are going to do great!" Gohan said smiling down at his sister.

"So are you Gohan." Mae looked up at him.

"Now I will explain the rules." The announcer said. "There is a 30 minute time limit and like the junior division if you knock your opponent out of bounds, knock them unconscious, or they are down for a 10 count then you win. If you kill your opponent then you are disqualified."

They headed into the training house to wait their turn. The announcer went to set up for the first match. Mae noticed Mighty Mask and how weird he looked so she walked over to him. "You there." She said "you look kinda strange."

"Uhh I'm not strange!" He stammered.

"You are fighting my brother." She said a smile creeping up on her face. "Don't you think two against one is a little unfair?"

"What do you mean?" He said trying to back away from her.

"I know it's you guys." Mae laughed. "I'm guessing you guys wanted a better fight.

"How did you know it was us?" Trunks asked.

"I can see Goten's eyes." Mae said.

"Are you going to tell on us?" Goten asked.

"Nah." Mae said stretching her arms. "Just do your best okay."

"Alright everyone! The first match is between Krillin and Pintar!" The announcer said as the crowd cheered.

"Mae do you want to watch?" Gohan asked her.

"Nah I know how this is gonna go." Mae said twisting her waist around, loosening up her body. Shortly after the announcer announced that Krillin knocked Pintar out of bounds.

"Up next is Shin vs Ma Junior!" The announcer said as Shin and Piccolo entered the arena.

"This match I do wanna see." Mae said standing next to Vegeta.

They stood across from each other. Piccolo had his back to them so they couldn't see his face. Shin smirking, the audience could feel the tension in the air. Piccolo just stood there not making a move even after the match had started. Mae looked closer and noticed that Piccolo was shaking. Shin must have said something that made the Namekian afraid.

"I'm sorry but I can't." Piccolo finally said.

"Are you giving up?" The announcer asked.

"Yes I am." Piccolo said as he walked back inside.

"Piccolo what the hell was that?" Mae asked as he came back.

"Is he strong?" Goku asked.

"Stronger than you know." Piccolo said. Mae quickly glanced at Kibito and wondered if he was as strong as his friend.

"You'll be fine." Vegeta said suddenly. "I'm the one who trained you after all."

" Yea you're right." Mae said turning back to see Videl and Spopovich enter the ring. The crowd cheered for Videl.

"Wow Gohan your girlfriend is pretty popular." Goku said teasing his son.

"She's just a friend haha," Gohan blushed.

As soon as the match began Videl didn't hesitate to attack. Spopovich kept blocking her attacks but Videl seemed to have the upper edge. She finally got a solid kick in and sent Spopovich to the ground. "Oh looks like he's down!" The announcer said. Before they could get a 10 count going he got back up.

"You got this Videl!" Gohan cheered as she rushed him again. Time and time again Videl knocked him down but he just kept getting up.

"Vegeta," Goku said nodding. Mae and Vegeta looked at Goku they both could tell something was wrong with this guy.

Videl lunged again for an attack and knocked Spopovich flat on his back. She was sure this time that he was down for good. "She should give up." Goku said.

"What do you mean?" Gohan asked.

"Videl has the advantage right?" Krillin asked. He and Gohan thought Videl was doing really well against the large man.

"No, she doesn't." Mae said. She was certain this would be a fight Videl couldn't win.
