Majin Buu ended his masters life and then destroyed his body. "Buu free now! No more Babidi to yell at Buu!" He took off flying to cause more destruction.

At the lookout Goku turned his head, "what's wrong?" Piccolo asked.

"Majin Buu killed Babidi." Goku said. "I figured it was only a matter of time before he did."

"Maybe now that Babidi is gone Buu won't kill anyone!" Bulma said optimistically.

"I doubt that." Mae said crossing her arms.

"Yea Babidi was definitely the brains of that operation." Piccolo nodded in agreement.

"Well we can at least hope." Goku said. "At least Trunks is coming back with the dragon radar."

"That's right we can just wish everyone back!" Krillin said.

Majin Buu came up to a city. "Buu wanna play there! Buu gonna have so much fun now that Babidi gone! Buu can't wait to play with the strong guys!" He cheered as he started to destroy the city before him.

"Okay he just leveled another city." Mae said.

"I think he might be worse without Babidi." Piccolo shuddered.

"He probably only knows how to destroy." Goku said.

"Don't start making excuses for him." Piccolo said.

"Yea you're right." Goku sighed. "Buu is eager to fight but I feel bad about all the people who are gonna die. We only have two days to train the boys to fuse and for Mae to learn super saiyan three. That needs to be our priority."

"How much time do you have left?" Mae asked remembering what King Kai told her.

"Probably less than an hour." Goku said. "Super saiyan three is only a level I can do in the other world I think. It took too much energy from me here."

Mae and Piccolo both noticed that Goku was looking a bit pale. Before they could reply Fortuneteller Baba showed up. "Goku, I came to inform you that you only have thirty minutes left to be on earth."

Back in otherworld Gohan continued his training with the Z sword. 'Let the sword be an extension of myself.' He thought as he swung it around.

"I'm impressed by how he's handling it." Kibito said as he and the Supreme Kai watched. "His natural ability to use the sword is astounding."

"Everything is going according to plan." Shin said. "Soon Gohan will be able to slay Majin Buu." He then called out to him. "Gohan why don't you take a break now!"

"No I'll keep going." Gohan said wiping the sweat off his forehead. 'I can't let Mae and everyone down. I already failed once and I can't again.'

Mae turned from her father, "Goten, spar with me until Trunks arrives." She wanted to test the young saiyan's abilities for herself.

"Okay!" Goten said eagerly.

As they fought, Piccolo and Goku stared off the lookout. "Goku, would you have been able to defeat Majin Buu at that level if you had tried?" Piccolo asked.

"I'm not sure to be honest." Goku said.

"Why didn't you just go all out?" Piccolo asked.

Goku paused for a moment before glancing at Mae and Goten. "It's not really my place. I'm not even supposed to be here. They should be the ones to defeat Buu. When I saw Trunks and Goten fighting I knew that we could take a chance on them learning to fuse."

"And Mae?" Piccolo asked as he watched her block an attack.

"When Vegeta and I were fighting Mae snapped and joined the fight." Goku said.

"Was she helping you or Vegeta?" Piccolo asked as Mae kicked out Goten's legs.

"Neither. She was pretty mad at both of us." Goku laughed. "But as we were fighting I knew that she could go further. She can reach super saiyan three I just know it."

"So that's why you took her with you." Piccolo said understanding.

"Those three are the future. Even after they defeat Majin Buu they need to be prepared for whatever else comes." Goku smiled fondly at his children.

"Goku when you go back if you see Gohan can you tell him I'm sorry." Piccolo said his heart aching at the loss.

"I will." Goku nodded. "I'm sure Gohan misses you too. He always thought of you as family."

Piccolo smiled and they turned their attention to Trunks who landed with the dragon radar. "Here you go!" Trunks said handing the radar to Goku. "Can we train now?"

"Yea!" Goku nodded and lead them into one of the gazebos. Bulma, Videl and the others grouped around to watch the boys and Mae train. "Okay I want you two to go ahead and realize your energies."

The boys powered up to super saiyan, evening out. Once their energies were back in sync they dropped to their base forms. Goku was sweating and he looked visibly tired. 'I've never seen Goku look this exhausted.' Piccolo thought cautiously.

"Okay good now you have to strike a series of moves in unison. If you are off even a little bit then the fusion will fail. Now stand next to each other." Goku explained as he showed them the poses they needed to do. "Now you have to do each pose in perfect symmetry. Why don't you try."

"Uhh," Trunks and Goten blinked at Goku. "Can you explain what symmetry is? You know for Goten." Trunks asked.

"Symmetry is when two things are exactly alike. Like mirror images." Mae explained.

"That's right!" Goku grinned. "Mae why don't you come demonstrate with me."

"Seriously?!" Mae asked skeptically.

"Yea we won't be able to fuse but we can show them." Goku said. "Come stand here next to me."

Mae rolled her eyes. "Fine." She sighed and stood where he pointed.

"Okay now follow exactly what I do just like a mirror image." Goku explained positioning himself. Mae followed and together they did each move. "Fusion ha!" Goku said as they did each step. When their fingers touched nothing happened. "See boys just like that."

Mae stood upright and took a few steps away. "Goku were you really going to ask Vegeta to do that?" Piccolo asked.

"Yea why not?" Goku tilted his head.

"Just doesn't seem like the kind of thing Vegeta would have done is all." Piccolo said.

"Oh." Goku chuckled. "Okay boys I want you to try now. Piccolo will you help them while I help Mae?"

"Yea I can." Piccolo nodded. The boys tried to fuse but their timing was off.

"Okay Mae now I want you to power up." Goku said taking her a couple paces away from the boys.

"Okay." Mae nodded as she powered up to super saiyan two.

"Now I want you to look deep inside yourself and find that natural power source. If you can tap into that then you should be able to use super saiyan three." Goku explained.

"Look inside myself." Mae exhaled before closing her eyes and looking deep within. She yelled as her power began to rise. Sparks of lightning flashed around her as she went deeper into her energy.

"That's it Mae. Just find that power." Goku said as the wind from her blew passed him. He noticed Goten and Trunks stopped to watch Mae so he snapped at them. "Get back to practicing don't worry about what she's doing!"

"R-right." Goten and Trunks stammered as they tried fusion again.

"You two are still off." Piccolo said. "You need to move in unison. Try again."

Mae's power continued to build on itself until she felt like she was running out of energy. She forced herself to keep going. Deeper down she dug until she collapsed to her knees, dropping to her base form. "Damn it." She panted.

"You burned through too much energy. Don't worry I'm sure you will get it. You already let your power rise higher than before." Goku said. "Just keep trying!"

Mae nodded before standing back up. She powered up to super saiyan again and tried to go beyond. Goku went back to helping Goten and Trunks who still couldn't get their rhythm just right. "I think this fusion thing is lame." Trunks said after another failed attempt. "Why don't we just learn super saiyan three like Mae."

"The only way you guys will beat Buu is with fusion. Mae is learning to use super saiyan three so she can help you two." Goku explained.

"Can't you at least show us super saiyan three." Goten asked.

Mae caught her breath, "I know you are out of time but it would be helpful if I could see it again."

"Okay I'll show you guys but you have to promise to keep working on fusion." Goku agreed.

"Yea!" Trunks and Goten said excited.

"First super saiyan then super saiyan two." Goku said powering up. "Then super saiyan three, remember comes from deep within." He said as he powered up even more. His hair grew longer and the force caused enough wind that Mae had to dig down just so she wouldn't be blown away. After he finished he looked at his daughter. "This is what you need to do Mae."

"So much power." Mae said in awe. "I will do this. I will achieve this level."

Goku powered back down, "good. Trunks, Goten now you gotta keep your promise and work hard on fusion." The boys nodded, ready to get back to training.

"Goku it's time." Baba said coming out from behind them.

"Piccolo help teach them. I'm putting all my trust into you." Goku said as they walked back out.

"I'll do my best." Piccolo said as everyone gathered around Goku to say their goodbyes.

"Goku!" Chi-Chi yelled as she came running outside. "Please tell me you aren't leaving!"

"I'm sorry Chi-Chi my time is out." Goku said as she embraced him.

"I'm afraid to lose Goten and Mae too." Chi-Chi said with tears in her eyes. "I've already lost you and Gohan."

"Don't worry. Mae and Goten are strong." Goku said trying to comfort his wife.

"Gohan isn't dead." Videl said. "I'm sure of it!"

"You are really devoted to him aren't you?" Goku looked at her.

"D-daddy I don't want you to leave." Goten said shyly.

"Come here son." Goku said picking the boy up. "It'll be okay. Protect your mom and Mae okay?" Goten nodded, burying his face in his father's chest.

"Dad will you see Vegeta?" Mae asked.

"I don't know." He said honestly.

"I see." Mae said looking down.

"If I do I'll tell him you miss him." Goku smiled at her.

"Whatever." Mae shrugged.

"Goku it's time. No more putting it off." Baba said as she led Goku back to the otherworld.
