"Can't you make this thing go any faster?" Piccolo groaned as Bulma's ship began to struggle through the air.

"I'm trying." Bulma said pressing buttons and flipping switches.

"Why don't you just fix it." Gohan leaned over trying to see what she was doing.

"Why don't you just go out there and fly." Bulma countered, glaring at Gohan.

"We can't." Goten said tilting his head.

"Yea something about that ceremony tapped us out." Gohan chuckled.

Goku smirked at Beerus, waiting for the right time to move. As Beerus narrowed his eyes Goku moved, faking a kick before going in for a punch. Beerus brought his own hand up blocking him. With his other hand he punched Goku in the stomach, knocking him back.

Quickly, he righted himself before attacking Beerus multiple times. Unfazed, the god again knocked Goku back. "Wow, Lord Beerus, your attacks still sting." Goku said rubbing his stomach.

"Let's see how you handle this." Beerus said forming another huge energy ball. "This one is too heavy to knock away."

"Bring it on," Goku smirked, bringing his hands up.

Beerus tossed the ball of energy, Goku held his hands out in front of himself to deflect it. Once it touched him it began to overwhelm him. It's weight was immense compared to the previous one. Just as Beerus began to wonder if Goku was done the energy began to collapse. His eyes widened in surprise at the saiyan who was using his own strength to make the energy smaller. Once he had it in his hands it exploded from the pressure, leaving Goku floating out of breath. He didn't hesitate to attack, Beerus grinned and countered.

"What is going on?" Bulma asked as the ship began to shake.

"They are making shock waves with their blows." Piccolo explained.

"I can't even see them!" Bulma looked out into the sky.

"Wow! Go dad!" Goten and Gohan cheered.

"You are keeping up with this?" Bulma asked them.

"Yea." Gohan shrugged.

"This is amazing." Mae gasped. Watching this new level of power was astounding. She glanced at Vegeta who narrowed his eyes even more. A small smile tugged on her lips as she brought her attention back to the fight above them. "I think dad can go even further, but I'm not sure if he's stronger or not." Vegeta grunted in agreement, continuing to watch.

"Lord Beerus, I know you aren't using your full power." Goku placed his hands on his hips.

"Caught on did you?" Beerus chuckled. "To be honest, I've been pacing you. Didn't want this fight to be over before it even started."

The Supreme Kai gave a look of confusion as he and the elder kai watched. "why would Lord Beerus take those hits if he could just avoid them?"

"It seems that Lord Beerus is training Goku." The elder kai explained. "Once Goku gets to a certain level Lord Beerus will crush him with his godly might. He is unpredictable, and that's what makes Lord Beerus so terrifying."

"I see," Goku began to understand. "You probably never get a decent fight, do you?"

Within the blink of en eye Beerus was on Goku. "Don't try and understand me." He growled as he blasted Goku. He continued to blast him until they were falling down to the ground. Beerus grabbed Goku and watched as he tried to struggle. "Are you really going to let me bring you down without a fight?"

Mae covered her eyes as Goku and Beerus hit the ground. There was an explosion followed by a flash of light. She couldn't feel Goku's energy so she had no way of knowing if he was alive. Just as she was about to go and investigate Vegeta grabbed her arm and shook his head.

"You will only get in the way." He said giving her a hard look. Mae bit her lip and gave a silent nod. She would have to put her faith in her father.

Goku laid on the ground, he managed to escape Beerus' grip at the last moment. "You are lucky, if you hadn't gotten away, you would be dust right now." Beerus said as he walked over to Goku. He looked down at the saiyan and frowned, "You ae beginning to bore me." He began to punch Goku repeatedly, becoming more mad at Goku's failure.

Goku snarled at the god and lashed out hitting him in the jaw. Beerus glared at him, as if his attack had no effect whatsoever. He kicked Goku up, sending him flying into the air. everytime he would begin to fall Beerus would hit him sending him further up into the sky.

"What is that?" Gohan asked looking below. Out of the clouds Goku emerged and everyone gasped in shock. "He's injured!"

Goku floated in the air and Beerus clicked his tongue. "Im disappointed." He made a purple ball of destruction. "You won't be able to deflect this or crush it."

"You wouldn't!" Goku said alarmed.

"If I have to destroy your planet to bring out your power than so be it." Beerus shrugged. "What is one planet compared to a battle of gods?" Beerus flicked his finger and let the small ball of energy fall.

Goku quickly looked from the earth to the energy trying to form a plan. He held his hand out and launched an energy attack strong enough to eliminate the destruction. He sighed in relief when the light faded and the orb was gone. He grinned at Beerus who gave a smirk of his own.

"Let's see how you handle this then." Beerus said bringing his arms out to the side. At least a hundred balls of destruction formed around him. "What will you do now, Super Saiyan God?" He yelled as he launched the attack.

"Ka-me-ha-me-ha!" Goku yelled trying to blow the destruction away with his energy. He wasn't about to let Earth be destroyed now. He smiled in satisfaction that he managed to pull the attack off. The destruction was gone, but before he could really enjoy it Beerus stabbed him in the chest with his hand.

"My mistake," Beerus said softly. "Seems I have the wrong person. You are no rival of mine." He pulled his hand out of Goku's chest, watching the diving energy burning from his wound. 

Goku fell back down to earth and into the water. Mae's eyes widened in horror as she saw the fire burning in his chest. She hated that she was powerless to do anything, angry at her own weakness, angry at Goku for failing to protect them. She balled her fists and gritted her teeth, "damn it all." She swore under her breath.

As Goku sunk down deeper into the sea he looked down at his chest and the fire coming from it. 'He's so strong, so unbelieveably strong.' Goku thought. 'I didn't know there was anyone in the universe this strong, but I'm excited. More excited than I've ever been in my whole life. This power, this strength, I want more!' He powered up, the flame aura surrounding him and healing his wound. He flew back up into the air letting the water explode out around him.

He raced up back to Beerus who looked at him with surpise, "not done yet, saiyan?"

"No, I want to keep going." Goku said with determination. "I wanna keep going higher and higher until I can finally match you fist for fist."

"Let's see where your determination will take you, then." Beerus smirked, he to was growing more excited.

They looked down and saw Bulma's ship continuing to try and keep up with them. Their energy was causing sparks to fire in the air, making the ship malfunction even more. "Let's go higher." Beerus said glancing between Goku and the ship.

"That's probably a good idea." Goku laughed.

"Well hello there," Whis said floating up to Mae and Vegeta who had their heads towards the sky. "You might hurt your neck that way."

Mae raised her eyebrows at Whis. "It's not like we can fly up there to watch."

"Maybe not, however I can help you." Whis tapped his staff and a picture formed of the fight above them. "There now we can watch with crystal clear vision."

"Oh wow!" Mae exclaimed. "Thank you!"

"You are most welcome." Whis chuckled. "What about you, prince?" Vegeta glanced at Whis and then back to the sky, ignoring the attendant.

Goku turned around and saw Beerus was gone. "I coulda sworn he was right behind me." Goku continued to search for the destroyer. Beerus brought his hand down on Goku, trying to get a sneak attack in. Goku grabbed his hand and looked behind him, "did you really think that would work?"

"Not really." Beerus shrugged. "Alright then, no more cheap tricks."

"Alright." Goku cracked his knuckles. As he started to power up, Beerus followed suit. The red aura clashed against Beerus' purple. They both launched themselves forward and their fists collided, sending energy waves through the universe.

"What the?" Mae asked as the energy passed over her and Vegeta, giving her a nauseous feeling.

"This is really bad!" The elder kai exclaimed.

"What is happening?" The supreme kai asked.

"They are making energy shock waves, just like how an earthquake creates tsunamis." The elder kai explained. "They gain more strength the further out they get. The whole universe could be in danger if they continue to put more power into their blows."

"What sort of damage are we looking at?" The supreme kai asked, almost knowing the answer.

"The whole universe as we know it could be destroyed." The elder kai said omniously.
