Mae and Vegeta landed on the cruise ship Bulma rented out. Vegeta seemed to be in a sour mood as he stomped over and laid on a lounge chair. Mae followed him and sat down. "What are you still here for?" Vegeta asked.

"I figured you would want company?" Mae said quizzically.

"Why don't you go find your brother." Vegeta frowned.

Before she could say anything Bulma walked over. "Vegeta, Mae you guys decided to come."

"Hmph," Vegeta turned away from her.

"You can be a real ass you know that." Bulma snapped. "But I'm glad you both came."

"Yea whatever." Vegeta muttered.

"Come on why don't we go say hi to everyone." Bulma said trying to get Vegeta up.

"What like Yamcha?" Vegeta said sarcastically.

"Fine whatever!" Bulma yelled before pulling Mae aside. "Can you try and improve his mood?"

"I mean I can try." Mae shrugged.

"Thanks." Bulma winked and patted her shoulder.

Mae walked back over to Vegeta. "So are you really just gonna sit there and be grumpy?"

"If I wanted your opinion I would have asked." Vegeta glared.

"I mean it is Bulma's birthday shouldn't you at least try and be happy?" Mae put her hands on her hips.

"Why do you care?" Vegeta sat up.

"Mae! Vegeta!" King Kai's voice sounded in their heads.

"King Kai?" Mae asked.

"Yes I need you both to listen!" King Kai said urgently. "Beerus the Destroyer is on his way to earth looking for a challenge."

"Who?" Mae asked.

"Just shut up and listen!" King Kai snapped. "He's a destroyer god and he's quick to anger so you two need to be on your best behavior. That means no insulting, fighting, or anything!"

"Is he really that bad?" Mae asked.

"Yes, If angered he could destroy the whole earth. He beat Goku in two blows." King Kai said.

"He beat Kakarot in only two hits?!" Vegeta jumped up.

"Yes he's laying on the ground now. It's up to you two to keep Beerus happy." King Kai said as he faded away.

Mae looked at Vegeta, "what do we do?"

"I don't know." Vegeta rubbed his temples, a headache was beginning to form.

Goku woke up in the crater Beerus left him in. "Oh good you are awake." King Kai walked over.

"I can't believe he's this strong." Goku said. "I don't know what to do. I'm not sure that fusing with Vegeta would be enough."

"Are you really thinking about how you are going to beat him?!" King Kai yelled.

Goku ignored him, "this Super Saiyan God thing, is it something I can reach with enough training? It doesn't matter I have to get to Earth and warn them." He said trying to stand.

"I already called Mae and Vegeta." King Kai sighed. "Those two are most likely to cause trouble."

"That's why I need to go help." Goku staggered forward.

"You are in no shape." King Kai said pulling out a senzu bean. "Here, at least eat this."

Goku ate the bean and within seconds he was healed. "Thanks King Kai! Okay I'm off!" He said about to use his instant transmission.

"No! You can't go to that party!" King Kai yelled.

"I thought you wanted me to go." Goku blinked at him. "Is it because Beerus is going to be there?"

"Of course you idiot!" King Kai snapped. "You are really stressing me out here!"

"Come on King Kai!" Goku protested.

"Will you just please stay here?" King Kai asked.

"Fine." Goku groaned sitting down.

Back on Earth Vegeta and Mae were trying to figure out a plan. "That name sounds familiar." Vegeta said as he paced.

"What do you think we are in for?" Mae asked. Her nerves were already up. If her father lost in two hits then they were really in trouble.

Vegeta ignored her and stared at his trembling hands. "Damn it!" He swore under his breath.

"Prince Vegeta." A voice sounded from behind them. When they looked no one was there. They quickly looked around but still no one was to be seen. "Boo." The voice said right behind Vegeta startling him.

"Who are you?" Mae jumped back.

"I don't think I need to answer you, girl." Beerus glared at Mae.

"Leave her alone." Vegeta gritted his teeth. "Damn you!" He ran forward upset that he had humiliated him.

Beerus did something and Vegeta was on the ground. "Vegeta!" Mae yelled and ran to him. "What did you do?!"

"I recognize you now." Vegeta said unable to move. "When I was a child you humiliated my father, King Vegeta because he didn't bring you a pillow."

"I spared you as a child." Beerus said stepping in front of Vegeta. "Now what can you tell me about the Super Saiyan God?"

"Super Saiyan God?" Vegeta repeated.

"You don't know? How disappointing. Seems all you saiyans do is disappoint." Beerus shook his head.

"Wait let me think!" Vegeta pleaded.

"What about you girl?" Beerus grabbed Mae, his claws slightly digging into her cheek. "You seem fond of the prince. Are you his daughter?"

"No. I'm the daughter of Son Goku." Mae said cooly remembering what King Kai said. "And I don't know anything about a super saiyan god."

"Well that's unfortunate." Beerus dropped her and she fell to the deck. "I suppose you two are going to die here and now."

He held out his hand ready to destroy them just as Bulma rounded the corner. "Vegeta what are you doing?" She asked but her attention was brought to Beerus and his attendant. "Are these friends of yours?"

"Bulma get out of here!" Vegeta yelled at her.

"Now now that's no way to speak to a lady." Beerus said turning to Bulma.

"Hello there, this is Lord Beerus and I am his attendant, Whis." He said introducing them. "We were passing by and we figured we would stop by and visit Prince Vegeta."

"Oh so you are from space?" Bulma smiled. "I should have guessed. I didn't realize Vegeta even had friends but you guys are welcome to join the party. We have food and games, today is my birthday you see."

"To be honest my nose has been intrigued by some delicious smells." Beerus said sniffing the air. As he walked away Vegeta was able to move again.

"Are you okay?" Mae asked helping him up.

"This could be really bad." Vegeta said giving her a concerned look. She had never seen Vegeta look so afraid.

Bulma introduced Beerus and Whis to everyone else and they cheered, giving them a warm welcome. Mae and Vegeta hung back to try and figure out what to do next. "We just have to keep him happy right?" Mae asked.

Vegeta nodded. "Piccolo and Majin Buu are the ones I fear will cause the most trouble."

"I agree." Mae nodded. Out of the corner of her eye she saw Yamcha talking to Beerus. "Oh crap." She said as he slapped the god across the back.

"That idiot!" Vegeta said through his teeth.

Just before Beerus could get angry Krillin ran up with a plate of food. "Gather round everyone! It's time for Russian roulette takoyaki!"

"What's this?" Beerus asked sniffing at the plate.

"You see takoyaki normally has a delicious piece of octopus in the center but in one of these a wasabi ball is hiding. Would you like to try your luck?" Krillin offered.

"Sure." Beerus said picking up a stick. He stabbed one of the balls and put it in his mouth. Vegeta sucked in air waiting. "This is, this is amazing!" Beerus yelled. "The fluffyness and the chewy mollusk. Not to mention the sauce giving it that extra flavor!"

"That was too close." Vegeta said nearly collapsing.

Krillin handed out the takoyaki and came over to Mae and Vegeta. "Want one?"

"Sure." Mae said eating one, octopus not wasabi.

"What about you Vegeta?" Krillin inched closer.

"No!" Vegeta snapped at him.

"Fine, sheesh someone is grumpy." Krillin murmured walking away. He ate one of the balls and instantly his mouth was on fire from the wasabi. "Why me?" Krillin groaned.

As the party continued Beerus wanted more takoyaki so Mae and Vegeta went to get him some. As Beerus and Whis we're walking Beerus said, "we still can't find the super saiyan god."

"Yes it appears no one here knows." Whis said as he watched Goten and Trunks play with water guns.

"Those two are too young." Beerus said before turning his attention to Gohan who was standing with his wife, Videl, "the older halfbreed doesn't seem to have any fighting sense. The only halfbreed who seems slightly formidable is that girl, Mae."

"Yes it would appear that way." Whis sighed.

Just then Mae and Vegeta came back with plates of takoyaki. "Here you are sir." Vegeta said respectfully.

"Tell me, about that saiyan on King Kai's world, what's his name again?" Beerus asked his servant.

"Goku." Whis said eating a ball.

"That's right Goku, what is your relationship?" Beerus asked.

"He's my enemy but we have a truce." Vegeta said carefully.

"A truce? Yet you seem so affectionate with his daughter. Saiyans must have gone soft while I was napping." Beerus yawned. "Speaking of I think I'm ready to go home and nap."

Suddenly Trunks missed Goten and splashed Beerus with water. "Oh no!" Trunks said dropping the gun.

"We're sorry!" Goten said quickly as they ran away.

"Are you angry my lord?" Whis asked.

Both Mae and Vegeta held their breath. "Do I look angry?" Beerus asked.

"Yes." Whis nodded.

"I wouldn't say I'm angry. More like furious!" Beerus yelled unleashing a burst of purple energy.

Mae staggered back and fell in awe from this sudden power. Vegeta didn't hesitate to jump into the ocean causing the three of them to look in surprise. Then out of the water a huge octopus came flying up and Vegeta blasted it. He then grabbed a tentacle and proceeded to make fresh takoyaki for Beerus.

"Well I suppose it's hard to stay mad with the prince acting a fool." Beerus sighed and walked off.

Mae sighed, she hadn't been this stressed in awhile. She laid on the deck and stared up into the sky. "What are you doing on the ground?" Gohan asked peering down at her.

"Recovering." Mae sighed.

"Recovering?" Gohan gave her a puzzled look.

A sudden commotion had her jumping up. As she and Gohan rounded the corner they saw Buu attacking Beerus. "Me strongest! Pudding only for Buu!"

"Oh shit." Mae groaned. "This isn't going to turn out well." She said as Beerus became even angrier. At this rate, the Earth was doomed.
