Mae laid on the ground, she didn't have the energy to move. Her vision grew fuzzy and she was sure that she would die soon. She didn't think even a senzu bean would be able to help her at this point. She had been stabbed and her energy stolen. Gohan and Videl were at her side and she wanted to tell them how sorry she was but she didn't even have the energy to talk.

"We will take her to a doctor." Two men came up with a stretcher.

"I will deal with her." Kibito said coldly.

"She's been stabbed. She needs a doctor!" They argued.

"I said I would handle it!" Kibito snapped at them sending them scurrying off. He put his hand on Mae's back and suddenly she started to get her energy back. Somehow he was healing her. Within a couple minutes Mae was able to move again.

"Ah, what did they do to me?" Mae said as she sat up on her knees.

"Mae!" Videl and Gohan embraced her before she had time to be angry.

"Videl, Gohan." Mae said, "I'm okay. Actually I surprisingly feel better than I did before."

"I healed you." Kibito said as Mae stood up.

Mae turned and looked at him and placed her hands on her hips. "I have questions and I want some damn answers."

"If you follow me I will tell you everything." Kibito said.

"Oh I thought I would have to fight you for information." Mae said relaxing a bit.

"We need your help." Kibito said with slight desperation.

"In that case I'm coming too." Gohan said. "Those guys attacked my sister and I want to know why."

"If you guys are going then I am too." Videl said.

"What? No." Mae said. "It could be dangerous."

"Mae is right. It's better if you stay here." Gohan said in agreement.

"No way!" Videl said stubbornly.

"There's no changing your mind is there?" Mae sighed.

Videl shook her head and Gohan said, "fine you can come but if things get bad then you come back here."

"Okay!" Videl said. The three of them and Kibito took off in the same direction Goku and the others went.

"My first question is who are you and that other guy?" Mae asked.

"I am apprentice to the Supreme Kai. He's the other man who was with me." Kibito explained.

"Like King Kai?" Mae asked. Goku had mentioned him before but no supreme Kai.

"Yes. The Supreme Kai is the topmost Kai." Kibito continued.

"Okay but why are you guys here?" Gohan asked.

"Those two men who took your energy are being controlled by an evil wizard." Kibito said.

"Why did they need my energy?" Mae asked her voice shaking a little. She had a bad feeling in her stomach.

"Millions of years ago an evil wizard named Bibidi created a monster named Majin Buu to spread fear and eliminate all life." Kibito said, "Majin Buu was an unstoppable force and only one of the five Grand Kais survived. Eventually Majin Buu became so strong that Bibidi struggled to control him, so whenever Buu needed to rest he would seal him in a ball. Bibidi would seal it with a spell leaving Buu in a dormant state. After the supreme Kai killed Bibidi, the ball was hidden away here on earth." Kibito continued.

"Why didn't the Supreme Kai just kill Majin Buu?" Mae asked.

"Because he isn't a threat when he is dormant." Kibito said. "We thought that Bibidi was the only one with the power to awaken Majin Buu. As it turns out, he left behind a son named Babidi who also became an evil wizard. We are now certain he is trying to awaken Majin Buu."

"So why don't you just kill the son?" Gohan said.

"Because he has unbelievable power. His magic harnesses the evil inside people and uses that to bend them to his will. That's what happened to Yamu and Spopovich." Kibito said.

"Why did they go to the Tournament? Doesn't that just seem risky?" Gohan asked.

"Babidi sent them because he needed a tremendous amount of energy to awaken Majin Buu. A martial arts tournament is a good place to start. That is where they found you Mae." Kibito said. "You became their target when they saw you go super saiyan."

"I see. Well, why don't you guys just go find the ball Majin Buu is in and destroy it." Mae said.

"We think they already have the ball. The Supreme Kai never risked destroying it because he feared that any external harm could free him. Instead he hid the ball away deep within the earth." Kibito continued.

"If he's freed then couldn't he just be defeated?" Mae asked with determination in her eyes.

"If Majin Buu awakens the world will see a darkness like never before. We cannot allow him to be free." Kibito said, his voice was laced with fear. "We need to hurry if we want to catch up with the others."

Mae and Gohan noticed that Videl was falling behind. "Hey Videl, are you okay?" Gohan asked.

"I don't think I can go on." Videl said. "The wind is hurting my eyes and I can barely see."

"You get the hang of it eventually." Mae said optimistically.

"Maybe not right now I'm holding you guys back." She said bluntly.

"Maybe it would be better if you headed back." Gohan nodded.

"Hey I didn't think about it before but seven years ago Gohan you were the boy who fought Cell. My dad didn't really save the world did he." Videl said.

"Yes that's right." Gohan said.

"We both were there but Gohan saved everyone." Mae said.

"Somehow I knew it all this time." Videl smiled sadly. "But I'm still glad to know the truth. Also make sure you two come back okay! I have loads more questions for you!"

"Tell ya what, beat me in a fight and I'll answer any question." Mae winked at her friend.

"It's on!" Videl grinned. "Now good luck you guys!"

"Later Videl!" Mae and Gohan waved as they sped up with Kibito.

"Wanna race for old times sake?" Mae glanced at her brother.

"Think you can win?" Gohan smirked.

"I have a good feeling." Mae said cockily.

"Oh it's on now!" Gohan said as he pushed himself faster. Mae pushed herself harder and it wasn't long before they caught up with Goku and the others.

"Mae, Gohan!" Goku greeted them. "Mae are you doing okay?"

"Yea that Kibito guy somehow made me better than I was before. But still, getting stabbed sucked." She said placing a hand on her side.

"Yea I bet. I'm just glad to see that you are okay." Goku said. Their eyes met and Mae could tell he was being earnest. "Did you guys hear everything about Majin Buu?"

"Yea Kibito told us on the way here." Gohan said.

"Look Yamu and Spopovich are landing!" Shin pointed out to a small house-like object. They landed on the mountain nearby. "Suppress your energies as much as you can. We don't want them to know we are here."

Everyone nodded and quietly hid themselves behind the rocks. "Hey the ground looks disturbed." Goku pointed out.

"Oh! They must have hidden their spaceship under ground. That's why we weren't able to find it." Shin said. "Babidi must have known we followed him here."

Mae furrowed her eyebrows, her anger boiling over. "Those bastards." She breathed.

"Mae?" Goku looked cautiously at her.

Mae controlled her energy but she wasn't about to sit here. "I'm going to kill them."

She went to fly down there but Goku grabbed her arm. "We need to wait." He gave her a serious look and she backed down.

"Fine." Mae spat. She breathed deep letting her anger flow back down.

Goku gave Gohan a concerned glance before looking back to where Yamu and Spopovich were. "Look someone is coming out! Is that Babidi?"

"No that's just a minion." Shin answered as the man went back inside. "They won't risk releasing Majin Buu inside. We will wait for the right moment."

"Look two more people are coming." Gohan pointed as a small shriveled man walked out alongside a tall demon looking man.

"How is this possible!" Shin said, his voice shaking with fear. "That is Dabura, King of the demon world!"

"Which one?" Goku asked.

"The tall one." Shin said.

"There's a demon world?" Mae asked.

"It's a shadow world on the opposite side of this one. They are two sides of the same coin. If one of you is the strongest here then Dabura is the strongest there." Shin explained. "The smaller one is Babidi."

"Hmph he doesn't look very tough." Vegeta scoffed.

"It's his magic you should fear. The wizard seeks out the evil in peoples hearts and uses that to control them. Only those with pure hearts can defeat him. Like all of us here." Shin said.

"We better watch out for Piccolo then. He used to be evil." Krillin chuckled.

"Oh don't even!" Piccolo snapped.

"The only problem is that I didn't expect Dabura. This changes everything." Shin muttered.

"Aren't you supposed to be the Supreme Kai!" Vegeta snapped. "If you are too scared then I'll just have to take them on myself!"

"I'll fight with you Vegeta." Mae said, there was a spark in her eyes. She knew this would be the moment she could prove to Goku how strong she was.

"Krillin I think you should go back to your wife. It looks like we are in for a difficult fight." Goku said.

"Yea I agree. I'll probably just get in the way. Plus I have my family I have to think about." Krillin nodded.

They turned their attention back on Babidi and his minions only to see something happening to Spopovich. His body started to contort and expand until he finally exploded. Everyone except Mae and Vegeta gasped as Yamu took to the air to try and escape. One of the other minions shot him down with a blaster ending his life as well.

"What sort of monster kills his own partners?!" Gohan clenched his fists together.

"I doubt they were partners. Only minions who outlived their usefulness." Mae said as she prepared herself for the upcoming battle.
