Son Goku looked at his children and friend as he floated down to the ground. He could see, from the state of the field, what sort of troubles they went through.

"G-Goku!" Krillin exclaimed with a relieved smile on his face. "We waited so long!"

"Daddy!" Mae looked up.

"You finally came," Gohan sniffled.

"What do you think you're doing here Kakarot?" Vegeta asked with a smirk. "I hope you don't intend to make some ridiculous speech about defeating us."

Goku ignored the saiyans and walked over to Piccolo. He placed a hand on the Namekian and felt he was dead.

"Piccolo..."

"He died tryin to save me and Mae," Gohan said sadly.

Goku looked over at his other friends who lay dead. "Tien Shinhan, Yamcha..." his anger slowly began to grow.

"Don't tell me you're surprised to see your lame friends dead," Nappa snorted. "Now that I think about it, there was another one who blew himself up! Well, no need to grieve. You'll see em again soon. And right after you just came back to life!" He laughed.

Goku scowled, "Chiaotzu too? And Kami..."

Vegeta's scouter began to beep as it targeted Goku. 'His power is steadily rising.' Vegeta thought to himself.

Goku began to walk towards Nappa. "Hey! What? Ready to die already?" The tall saiyan asked. He threw a punch, "well this is my way of saying hello!"

Goku avoided the attack and went to his children. "This way, Mae, Gohan." Nimbus followed him still carrying the twins.

"What the?" Nappa blinked in confusion.

'He's fast,' Vegeta thought.

"I'm sorry I'm late," Goku said. He held out his hand and revealed two green beans. "You guys did well holding out. Krillin take one, Mae and Gohan, you can split the other one."

"Senzu beans?" Krillin asked weakly. "Master Korin still had those?"

"These are the last two," Goku said.

"You should keep them, Goku," Krillin shook his head.

"I'm fine," Goku assured, "I already had one."

"You should save it," Krillin insisted. "Just in case. We can't do much to help even if we do get better."

"Quit worrying, if you're not gonna eat it, I'm gonna throw it away," Goku replied.

"In that case," Krillin said, eating the bean.

"Here Gohan," Goku split the last senzu bean. "And here, Mae."

Krillin got up feeling better, now that his injuries were healed and his strength returned. The twins shared a look as they felt the same.

"You've improved a lot, Krillin," Goku said. "I can feel it."

"I thought I had," Krillin looked away. "I tried,  but they were too strong. I let them all die."

Goku looked at his children, "Gohan, Mae, you both have changed so much! You trained well!"

"I trained myself after watching you, daddy," Mae looked up at Goku proudly.

"Piccolo taught me," Gohan said, "but I couldn't do anything..."

"You did your best..." Mae said sadly.

"Piccolo died. We can't use the dragon balls anymore," Krillin frowned. "Nobody can come back to life. Damn it! Let's avenge them, the four of us! With you here, Goku, we can take at least one of em with us! You trained with King Kai right? The Lord of the worlds?"

"Yeah," Goku nodded. "But I'll fight them alone. You three stay clear so you don't get hurt."

"Alone?" Krillin repeated stunned. "That's insane! Even for you, their power is beyond imagination!"

"He's right," Gohan nodded.

"I wanna fight with you!" Mae said determined.

Goku looked over at the saiyans and his expression changed to one of anger. A strange aura was coming off Goku, one Krillin never felt before.

"No, Mae," Goku said sternly.

"We better do as he says," Krillin said, pulling the children away. "We can leave it to him."

"B-but," Gohan stammered.

Mae opened her mouth to protest but Krillin grabbed her.

"Now! Hurry!" He said pulling them back. 'I've never seen Goku so angry. There's no place for us here.' Krillin thought as he moved. 

"What's with that look on your face?" Nappa asked as Goku approached him. "I don't like it. I was hoping you wouldn't wanna die so quickly."

"There'll be no mercy for you!" Goku growled. "You bastards!" His power rose significantly, the rocks rising around him.

Nappa shook as he watched the saiyan.

Vegeta's scouter went off and he watched in disbelief as the numbers climbed higher and higher. "It can't be!" The Prince exclaimed.

Krillin tried to keep his footing as the ground shook. Gohan grabbed onto the cliff side while Mae studied her father intensely.

"V-Vegeta,  what's Kakarot's power again?" Nappa asked.

"Over 9000!" Vegeta scowled as he broke the scouter.

"9000?!" Nappa exclaimed. "It's a mistake! It's broken!"

"I won't use the Kaioken on you yet," Goku said in a calm tone.

"Kaioken?" Vegeta raised his brow.

"You'll never beat me!" Nappa yelled as he charged straight for Goku.

Goku didn't move until the last second where he suddenly appeared behind Nappa and kicked him to the ground.

"What?!" Vegeta watched, surprised.

"Woah," Mae gasped.

"How'd you get behind me?" Nappa asked as he held his head. "I'll destroy you!" He claimed as he got up.

"You talk a lot," Goku said. "But you don't back it up.

"What did you say?!" Nappa asked furiously.

"How did he do that?" Krillin asked in awe.

'Strange,' Vegeta thought. 'His power is different than before.'

"You're saying I'm just all talk?!" Nappa snapped.

"I could tell from that attack," Goku replied.

"You could tell huh?" Nappa grinned with an evil look. He drew his arms in and began to power up. "So what can you tell from this?"

Nappa flew forward and sent a flurry of punches and kicks. Goku easily dodged them before vanishing from Nappa's view.

"Over here," Goku said, a small distance away.

"Did you see that?" Mae asked Gohan who shook his head.

"How did Kakarot grow so strong in such a short amount of time?'  Vegeta wondered.

Goku sprung forward towards Nappa and landed on top of his head.

"Raaah!" Nappa yelled as he tried to grab Goku.

Goku appeared in front of Nappa and punched him hard in the stomach. "That was for Chiaotzu."

Nappa tried to kick, but Goku ducked and punched Nappa away into a mountain.

"That was for Yamcha!" Goku yelled.

Nappa pulled himself from the cliff, "you bastard!" He fired an energy blast.

"I won't dodge this one," Goku said, standing his ground. As the blast came he powered up. "YAAAH!" He yelled as his energy took out Nappa's.

"What?! What the?!" Nappa stared in disbelief.

"He blew it away with energy alone," Vegeta said,  also surprised.

Goku flew up and hit Nappa from above. "This one is for Tien Shinhan!" As Nappa was falling to the ground Goku sped down and kicked Nappa. "That is for Piccolo!"

Nappa hit a large boulder, turning it into rubble. He exploded out of it, "damn you! Damn you!" He yelled.

"Hmph, you're as tough as I expected," Goku said.

"I am an elite warrior of nobility!" Nappa screamed. "I won't have a lower class punk like you push me around!!"

"Goku's unbelievable!" Krillin said. "He might actually win this!"

"Go daddy!" Gohan cheered.

"He's so strong," Mae said not wanting to take her eyes away.

"Nappa! Get ahold of yourself you fool!" Vegeta snapped. "He can't beat you if you keep your head! Calm down!"

Nappa listened to Vegeta and took a breath. "You're right, thanks Vegeta. I wasn't thinking."

'That idiot! At this rate I might have to fight,' Vegeta thought with a scowl.

"You tricked me into a fit of rage," Nappa said. "Now you'll see what I can really do. Are you ready, Kakarot?"

"That is," Goku grinned. "This is what I wanted."

"Heh, he's bluffing," Nappa said to himself.

'No, he's got power to spare, and complete confidence in himself,' Vegeta thought as he observed Goku.

"Raaah!" Nappa yelled as he powered up even further. He raised his arm making a massive explosion go off in front of Goku.

Goku flew up into the air through the smoke.

"You're mine!" Nappa yelled as he went after him. He went to punch Goku who narrowly dodged and countered with a kick. Soon the two were exchanging blows.

Goku dodged Nappa and pulled away. "Yeah! That was much better!"

"Better huh?" Nappa glared. "I'll make sure that's the last wisecrack you ever make. This is it Kakarot!" He opened his mouth and fired a powerful beam.

Goku's eyes went wide and he quickly brought his hands out in front of him. "Hah!" He yelled as he used his own energy.

The beams collided and let off a huge explosion. Powerful gusts of wind shot out from the explosion towards where the others were watching.

"Aah!" Gohan yelled as Mae grabbed him.

Krillin tried his best to shield the two children as rubble shot out over them.

Vegeta too had to brace himself against the force. "Unbelievable! To deflect it at that distance!"

"Whew," Goku dusted himself off. "That made me sweat."

Nappa staring, his jaw dropped. "It can't be...that was my ultimate attack! He...He just bounced it off!"

"He really is tough," Goku said. "He took my blast head on. This could take forever."

"That's enough!" Vegeta called. "Nappa get down here! You're taking too long! I'll finish him myself!"

"Tchh..." Nappa looked down at Vegeta.

"Ridiculous," Vegeta crossed his arms. "Having to trouble myself with something like Kakarot."

"Finally, we get to see that jerk be afraid," Krillin glared at Nappa.

"Damn you!" Nappa swore. "Damn you to hell boy! Making me surrender your execution to Vegeta. You'll be damn sorry it ever happened. There's a reason he's named after the planet Vegeta itself. I'll leave you to him cause he ordered me to but I won't be satisfied leaving things as they are."

Goku gave him a questioning look.

Nappa set his sights on the twins and Krillin, "Heh, Heh."

Goku suddenly realizing yelled, "Mae! Gohan! Krillin!" But it was too late Nappa was already tearing after them.

"Gohan, get behind me!" Mae said as she prepared herself for them incoming attack. Her legs were shaking and she could see both Krillin and Gohan were stunned.

"Damn I'll never make it!" Goku swore as he chased after Nappa.

Nappa opened his mouth to fire a beam at the three fighters below.

"Kaioken!" Goku yelled and suddenly he gained a burst of speed. He drove his fists straight into Nappa's back.

Nappa cried out from the pain as Goku got under him. Goku caught him with one hand, Nappa laying limp.

Both Mae and Gohan fell back, shocked by what just happened.

Goku tossed Nappa to Vegeta's feet. "Aah...V-Vegeta," Nappa strained.

"He won't be fighting anymore," Goku stated. "Take him home and stay there."

Vegeta eyed Goku, trying to work out what had just happened, how his speed and power had suddenly multiplied.

"I-It hu-hurts..." Nappa groaned.

Vegeta continued to ignore Nappa, glaring at Goku. 'It's impossible! No one can just multiply their power like that!"

"G-Goku? How'd you do that?" Krillin asked. "Was that something King Kai taught you?"

"Yeah," Goku nodded. "It's called Kaioken."

"Kaioken?" Mae said, wondering if she too could do something like that.

"You control all the energy in your body and amplify it for a heartbeat,"Goku explained. "If you get it right then your power and speed and everything just explodes."

"A heart beat?" Mae put a hand over her heart in thought.

"Amazing!" Krillin gasped.

"You mean you're even stronger than yourself?!" Gohan asked.

Vegeta watched the four talk, "damn if only I could hear what they are saying."

"What are you messing around for then?" Krillin asked. "If you have that then you shoulda just used that first."

"Sorry it doesn't work that way," Goku said. "If I don't control my energy perfectly while I'm using it I can beat myself."

"So you can get hurt by your own move?" Mae asked.

"That's right," Goku nodded. "I have to be careful with it."

"O-oh great," Krillin said nervously.

"V-Vegeta...h-help...me..." Nappa reached a hand to his partner.

Vegeta looked down and took Nappa's hand.

Nappa smiled, "th-thank you, Vegeta."

A smirk crossed Vegeta's face as he said, "no problem." He then threw Nappa high into the air.

"What!" Goku exclaimed.

"What are you doing Vegeta?!" Nappa questioned with confusion.

"What good are you if you can't fight?" Vegeta asked. Energy gathered around the Prince. "None!" The energy exploded and flew up towards Nappa.

"N-No!" Nappa yelled as the blast hit him and ended his life.
