On the morning of May 18, Mae was getting ready to see her twin. Every year they celebrated together by going out for breakfast. She brushed her hair back and put her black and grey hoodie on before grabbing her present for Gohan. "Damn I'm gonna be late." She said as she looked at the time. As she ran through the hall she passed Vegeta.

"Going to meet Gohan?" He asked.

"Yep. I'll be back soon. Maybe we can train for a bit!" Mae grinned.

"Hmph if you want." Vegeta said crossing his arms. "Happy birthday by the way."

Mae smiled, "thanks Vegeta!" She waved and ran outside. "Alright now to the restaurant." She jumped into the air and flew to where Gohan was waiting. She saw him standing outside of a little cafe. "Gohan!" She waved.

"Woah that girl is flying!" "How's she doing that?" "Amazing!" Some people around them started to chatter.

"Jeez Mae!" Gohan sighed bringing his hand to his face.

"What? I was running late." Mae shrugged. "Let's go eat!"

They sat down and ordered food. "So I noticed something interesting the other day." Gohan said.

"Oh?" Mae raised an eyebrow at him.

"I sensed Jiren's energy near Capsule Corp," Gohan said. "Did he come to train with you and dad?"

"Uhh not exactly," Mae began to blush. "He actually came to visit me."

"Oh really? What for?" Gohan grinned.

"He just wanted to talk is all." Mae said becoming even more red in the face.

"That's all?" Gohan asked.

"We also kissed." Mae said quietly.

"Ah hah! So you do like him! So is he your boyfriend?" Gohan asked eagerly.

"I don't know about that." Mae said blushing further.

"Have you told mom and dad?" Gohan asked.

"Dad saw me and Jiren but I haven't told mom yet." Mae replied as the server brought them their food.

"How come?" Gohan asked as he took a bite.

"Honestly I didn't think that much of it." Mae laughed. "Besides you know how she gets."

"That's true." Gohan chuckled. "I'm surprised you are even interested in anyone. I'm sure mom is gonna freak out."

"Yea probably." Mae said she could already hear Chi-Chi fawning over her.

"So why Jiren?" Gohan asked.

"He's just, I don't know. Interesting I suppose. I've just never felt this way about anyone before." Mae pondered. "Besides he's strong which I like."

"Well as long as he makes you happy that's all I care about." Gohan smiled.

"Thanks Gohan." Mae said. After they finished their food Mae handed the present for her brother. "Here happy birthday."

"You didn't have to get me anything." Gohan said taking the box.

"You say that every year yet I always get you something." Mae sighed.

"Well I got you something too." Gohan handed her a small box. "Happy birthday Mae." He opened his gift and pulled out a nice fountain pen and a leather bound journal. "Oh wow these are awesome! Thank you!"

"I figured you would like something to help with your studies." Mae said as she began to unwrap her own. Inside the box was a small plush cat dressed as a chef. "This is adorable!" She said holding the plush up.

"I saw it and instantly thought you would like it." Gohan said.

"Thank you." Mae said cheerfully. Once they finished they paid for their meal and headed back to Capsule Corp.

"Mom said she was having a party for us." Gohan said as they flew over the city.

"Figures." Mae sighed. "Hey Gohan don't tell her about Jiren yet."

"Alright. She might already know if dad told her." Gohan said.

"Maybe but I doubt he would say anything." Mae said as they approached Capsule Corp. She could see that they had already set up the party. "Wow she invited everyone." She said as they landed. Even Whis and Lord Beerus had made it.

"Hello Mae and Gohan. Happy birthday." Whis greeted them.

"Thanks Whis!" Mae and Gohan said together.

"Mae I'm gonna go catch up with the others." Gohan said as he went to meet Videl.

"I'm surprised you and Lord Beerus came." Mae said.

"How could we resist such a spread." Whis chuckled. "We also have a gift for you." He touched her with his staff and her clothes vanished leaving a strapless blue dress in their place. Green flowers decorated the sides and bottom of the dress that stopped just below her knees.

"A dress?" Mae looked down at her new outfit. "You know I had stuff in my pockets."

"Don't worry, the dress has pockets. Your stuff should be there." Whis explained.

She touched her sides and sure enough her plush cat, phone, and her Zen-Oh button was there. Even her communicator that she uses to contact Whis was there. "Why a dress though?"

"Lord Beerus thought it was fitting." Whis chuckled.

"Mhmm." Mae rolled her eyes.

Beerus caught her and snapped, "I hope you aren't rejecting a gift from a destroyer."

"Of course not! It's lovely." Mae stammered.

"There's another gift from Grand Zen-Oh and The Grand Priest." Whis said summoning a small black box.

"Oh that's surprising." Mae said taking the box. She opened it and found a red and black button like the one she had to get to Zen-Oh's palace and two communicators. "What are these for?"

"Press the red side and find out." Whis said with a glimmer in his eye. "Oh but first make sure to leave one of those communicators behind. Just in case something happens here while you are gone."

"This isn't gonna take me anywhere weird is it?" Mae asked skeptically.

"Of course not." Whis laughed.

"Fine." Mae walked over to Bulma, the slight heels of her blue shoes clacking on the stone patio. "Here Bulma can you take care of this for me?"

"Sure but what for?" Bulma asked.

"Dunno." Mae shrugged. "Oh yea can you also put this in my room?" She handed Bulma the new plush cat.

"Sure no problem." Bulma said. "It's so cute!"

"That can be used to talk to this the communicator Mae has." Whis explained pointing at the circle Bulma was holding. "Now you better get going. Someone is waiting for you."

"Uhh Okay then. What about the party?" Mae asked. "Everyone is here."

"Whis already explained you wouldn't be staying." Chi-Chi said coming up to her. "Happy birthday my precious daughter."

"Thanks mom." Mae smiled as she hugged her mom. "By the way where's dad?"

"Your father is late. He's finishing up training. I swear sometimes that Goku makes me so mad." Chi-Chi started to fume.

"He must have forgotten." Mae laughed as she held the button and pocketed the other communicator. "Alright I'll be back soon. Hopefully."

"Just go already!" Vegeta said coming out from behind a tree.

"Okay okay!" She said pushing the red side. Suddenly she was transported elsewhere. She looked around and saw a field of crystal roses. "How pretty." She said leaning down to touch one.

"Not as pretty as you." A voice said from behind her.

"What?" She quickly turned around and saw Jiren standing in front of her. "Is this universe eleven?!"

"Yea. Grand Zen-Oh gave us a way that we can see each other when ever we want." He smiled at her. He was dressed very nicely in a black suit.

"You look different without your uniform." Mae blushed as she stepped closer to him.

"I could say the same for you." Jiren took his hand in his. "Happy birthday Mae. You look stunning."

She looked down at her dress and turned red. "It was a gift from Lord Beerus. I don't ever wear dresses to be honest."

"Ah that makes sense." Jiren snorted.

"So what is this place?" Mae asked looking at all the roses.

"This is planet Cryst. It's known for its beautiful crystal flowers. It's one of my favorite places just because of how peaceful and quiet it is here. I thought you would like to see it." He slid his arm around her waist and brought her close.

"This is the best birthday gift. Just being near you." Mae leaned her head against his chest. "We will need to pay Zeni a visit and thank him."

"Should you really be calling him that?" Jiren looked down at her.

"Sure. I'm the one who gave him the nickname." Mae explained how she became friends with the Omni king.

"Oh I see." Jiren said taking her to a nearby log to sit on. He sat down and pulled her onto his lap. "I haven't stopped thinking about you since I visited. I feared it would be longer before I could see you again."

"Me too. Now we don't need to have the destroyers escort us around." She chuckled.

"That is true." Jiren said stroking her cheek. He pulled her face closer and kissed her. Mae put her hand on Jiren's face and kissed him back. She lost herself in the moment and all she could feel was herself and him. Her heart pounded faster as he deepened the kiss pulling her in more and more. She lost all track of time as she responded in time with him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and when she needed to breathe she finally pulled away from him.

"Jiren I'm glad to be here with you." She said as her face flushed.

He brushed her bangs across her forehead. "I am as well." He smiled at her softly as he embraced her. "You make me want to feel."

"Oh Jiren." Mae gasped. A breeze passed by them and Mae shivered from the cold. "Jeez I wish Whis would have included a jacket. She pulled away from Jiren and rubbed her bare arms.

"Here you can use mine." He said pulling his jacket off and draping it over her shoulders.

"Thank you." She said pulling it around her. It was a warm, silk fabric. She leaned into him and he kissed her forehead. "I wish we could stay like this forever."

"That would be nice." Jiren said resting his head against hers. Together they sat and watched the sun set over the crystal roses.

"I never would have imagined such a beautiful place would exist." Mae said as she gazed out at the fields. The sunlight hit the roses just right causing them to shimmer and shine.

"Yea." Jiren said but he wasn't looking out. The only thing he was watching was her. A sudden buzzing in his pocket got his attention and Mae jumped up off his lap. "This is Jiren." He said bringing the phone like device to his ear. Someone on the line started talking. Their voice seemed urgent. "Okay I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Is there something wrong?" Mae asked tilting her head.

"Some of the other pride troopers need my assistance." Jiren said almost sadly.

"Go help them. We can do this again another time." She smiled up at him. "Here you can have your coat back."

"Keep it." He said as he bent down to kiss her again. When he pulled free he said. "I'll think of you until we meet again."

"Same." Mae grinned as Jiren took off to wherever he was needed. She pulled out the button and pressed the black side and she was instantly brought back to Capsule Corp. The party was already over and the sky was dark. She put her hand to her chest and went inside.
