Vegeta held Mae up as they watched Jiren's power sky rocket. His red aura shot straight up and the force of it reached the stands. They both put their hands in front of their faces to block the wind that was coming off of him. His overwhelming power was causing rubble to crack and break around him. His aura came back down and surrounded him like a ball of fire. "Looks like Jiren is finally getting serious now that he's the last one." Vegeta said.

"Woah! Jiren's on fire!" The Zen-Ohs said in amazement. "Jiren is amazing!"

"We just need to beat him in order to win." Mae said.

"How do you expect to do that?" Jiren asked her. "You are already at your limit."

Mae pulled away from Vegeta, "you don't get to tell me my limits!" She yelled as she powered back up to Super Saiyan Ice, her long hair flowing behind her.

"Oooo Mae did it again! What's it called again?" The Zen-Ohs asked the Grand Priest.

"Super Saiyan Ice, seems Mae was able to break her limit again." The Grand Priest said.

Mae launched herself forward causing Goku, Vegeta, and 17 to fly forward too. Jiren was being attacked on all four sides but he wasn't letting up at all. Jiren punched both Mae and 17 sending them flying into a chunk of floating debris. With one motion he kicked both Goku and Vegeta back as well. Both saiyans righted themselves and Goku started sending energy blasts.

Vegeta landed on a piece of debris, "Final Flash!"

Jiren held up his hand and blocked Vegeta's attack. Mae rushed and tried to hit him but with his other hand he blocked her and knocked her down. Jiren turned his attention back to Vegeta and sent his own energy blast smashing Vegeta into the wall behind him. As Jiren rushed to kick him, 17 pushed Vegeta aside and took the blow. 17 brought his hands up as Jiren formed an energy blast against him.

"Damn Android!" Vegeta yelled. "I didn't need your help. Jiren you are mine to defeat!" Vegeta ran forward and started attacking pushing Jiren back. Goku used that opportunity to attack while his back was turned. Jiren glanced behind him and kicked Vegeta right into Mae. He turned and started to defend against Goku.

"Damn it! I was just about to attack!" Mae said frustrated.

"He's not even winded." Vegeta said as Mae took off to punch Jiren.

Jiren grabbed her hand, "not bad. I can see how you defeated Toppo in that form."

While he was still holding Mae, Goku unleashed his energy, "Kamehameha!"

"Oh shit!" Mae swore as Jiren used his aura to blow her and Goku away. They both hit the ground hard. Her arms shook as she pushed herself up. "Is that all you got?"

Jiren jumped down in front of her, "your arrogance is going to get you in trouble."

Mae smirked, "yea probably." She held his attention as 17 snuck up behind him and grabbed Jiren. Before he could react 17 unleashed a ball of energy causing a huge explosion.

"Damn, I shouldn't have gotten caught in my own blast." 17 said climbing out of rubble while waiting for the smoke to clear.

"Damn you!" Jiren swore, his uniform was ripped and he had taken damage from the attack. He turned around to face 17 who didn't hesitate to send a barrage of energy blasts, pushing Jiren back.

"Mae, Kakarot are you both ok?" Vegeta asked joining them.

"Yep," Goku said as he and Mae stood back up.
17 quickly jumped over Jiren and joined the three saiyans. "Because of your attack I know how to deal with Jiren."

"Oh?" Mae said glancing at Goku.

"Getting hit with an attack that big while unguarded can hurt him." Goku explained. "Vegeta and I will make an opening and you two hit him with an even bigger blast."

Mae and 17 nodded in agreement. "Are you done plotting?" Jiren asked impatiently.

"Heh, ready Vegeta?" Goku asked.

"Hmph," Vegeta scoffed as 17 sent an energy blast blocking Jiren's view so the two saiyans could start their assault.

17 and Mae held their arms out waiting for the right moment. Suddenly Goku and Vegeta jumped back and 17 and Mae both unleashed energy sending a huge beam right at Jiren. "That won't work twice!" He yelled as he held up his hand to block the attack. He broke through their energy and headed straight for them.

"Mae run!" 17 said putting up multiple barriers in front of them and Jiren.

"And just leave you here! I don't think so." Mae said standing her ground as Jiren broke through the barriers. They both brought their arms up as Jiren struck, sending them back.

"Hah!" 17 yelled sending another energy beam.

Mae jumped to the side, "Final Flash!"

"Vegeta! Us too!" Goku yelled and they both sent energy beams.

Jiren yelled as he brought his aura up stopping all four of their energies. He pushed back and sent their energies back at them. None of them could dodge their attacks, so they each took a direct hit. Goku and Vegeta fell to the ground and Mae and 17 collapsed. All three saiyans dropped their forms. Jiren stepped down in front of them and crossed his arms. Suddenly a small energy blast got his attention and 17 was standing in front of him. "You still stand? What can you do alone?"

"I'm not giving up." 17 panted. He looked down to Mae who was laying next to him and to Vegeta and Goku who were behind him. "Universe seven is going to win."

"And then what?" Belmod asked the Android. "What will you use the super dragon balls for?"

"I want to travel with my family on a cruiser. That's what I will wish for." 17 said honestly.

"You can't be serious!" Belmod laughed.

"I am." 17 smirked. "What about you Jiren? I imagine nothing except the title of strongest interests you."

"Even I have a wish." Jiren said.

'So Toppo was telling the truth.' Mae thought as she laid there.

"So Jiren you still want that." Belmod said quietly. "Everyone, I will tell you about Jiren's past and the reason for his strength." Everyone focused their attention on Belmod except for Mae, she stared right at Jiren. "As a child, Jiren's parents were killed by an evil person. He was rescued by a man who would become his teacher. Jiren sought to master further strength and to find the right path with his teacher. Not long after, Jiren gained new companions. However the evil person returned. Jiren and his companions fought and he thought they could win, but the evil person was too strong. One by one his companions were killed, even Jiren's teacher didn't survive. When Jiren tried to rise again none of the survivors would stand with him. That day he learned that the weak could do nothing but obey the strong. Jiren was alone, abandoned by those he trusted most, his grief was immeasurable. He decided that trust was worthless. He also realized that strength is justice, strength is absolute. Winning would bring companions and would get him everything. Emotions mean nothing there." Belmod continued, "I was drawn to his thirst for strength and his solitude."

"I get it." Mae said suddenly. "Weakness comes at a price. Your teacher lost his life because of your own weakness. In order to never feel that pain again you worked to gain strength so no one would have to pay that price."

'So she does understand.' Jiren thought to himself.

"I too have paid that price." Mae whispered glancing at Vegeta.

"I understand your wish." 17 said. "Here I thought you were just a killing machine. Turns out you are a pretty human guy too."

"That's enough from you Belmod." Jiren glared at the destroyer before sending an energy blast at 17.

17 dodged the attack, "so you were just using your team for your own ends? You live obsessed with the past." Jiren lurched forward attacking him. 17 shrunk back, "seems I touched a nerve there." Jiren grabbed 17 and went to punch him. Before he connected 17 swung at him, "do you think you can make things how they were if you win? That you can bury the past?" Jiren threw 17 down to where the saiyans were.

Jiren landed on a pillar and scowled down at them, "strength is absolute. Strength forgives all, even the past." He started to form a huge energy ball, preparing to take out all four of them. "Feel sorrow in your own weaknesses." He said as he sent the ball at them.

"Goku get up!" Beerus said urgently.

17 surrounded himself with a barrier and put his hands up to stop the huge energy. "17 what are you doing?!" Mae asked.

"Save yourself!" Goku yelled.

17 put up more barriers in front of him, "17 run you aren't strong enough!" 18 yelled from the stands.

Jiren started to push through the barriers, "Goku, Mae, Vegeta I'm giving up on the cruiser." He put three barriers around each of them. "Sacrificing myself for them. I kinda like how human that is." He said before he exploded taking the massive energy out with him.

"17!" 18 screamed. All that was left were three floating islands that the saiyans were on. The barriers broke around them and the rocks crumbled causing the three of them to fall to the ground below. The three of them landed on their feet but Mae dropped to her knees and Goku fell down completely. The only one who remained standing was Vegeta.

"Be grateful he sacrificed himself to protect your weak selves." Jiren said as he landed in front of them.

"Since we can assume 17 self destructed, Jiren will suffer no penalties." The Grand Priest announced.

"You still stand." Jiren said to Vegeta.

"Vegeta." Mae said quietly.

"I'm more than enough to knock you off." Vegeta said confidently.
