Arrogance

It had been nine months since Mae and the twins entered the time chamber. Over that time she really pushed them trying to bring out their hidden potential. One day after a particularly rough training, Chi and Gicchin sat together.

"That woman really isn't our mother," Chi said with anger in her voice. She was beginning to hate Mae.

"Well she is from a different time line," Gicchin shrugged.

"Our Mom is a hero. This version of her is a proud, arrogant, ass!" Chi snapped. "She's worse than Vegeta!"

"I wouldn't go that far," Gicchin said. "She's just trying to help us."

"Is she?" Chi glared at her brother. "It seems like she just enjoys beating us up!"

"Probably," Gicchin laughed. "But I don't know. I've started to notice a difference. Haven't you?"

"Of course you would," Chi huffed. "You are a saiyan just like her. I'm not a saiyan!"

"Mom seems to think you are," Gicchin countered.

"Tch, I wish I stayed with dad," Chi pouted. "At least I might actually learn something."

"Maybe you just don't want to learn from her," Gicchin leaned back bringing his arms over his head.

"So what?" Chi scoffed. "It's not like she has anything worthwhile to teach."

"You are being dramatic," Gicchin rolled his eyes.

"Whatever," Chi said under her breath. "You know I don't understand how dad managed to be with her. She's so arrogant!"

"They won the tournament of power in this time line right?" Gicchin pondered. "Maybe that has something to do with it?"

"Who knows," Chi crossed her arms. "There's just no way our dad could be with someone so proud and well..."

"Arrogant?" Gicchin finished for her.

"Yes!" Chi was becoming more flustered.

"You know you have grown stronger," Gicchin said. "At least I've noticed you have."

"Barely," Chi sighed. "You are the only one who seems to be progressing. You almost have blue mastered."

"True," Gicchin nodded. "But you have grown as well."

"Tch, I still don't like that woman," Chi shook her head.

"You don't have to like me," Mae said stepping out from behind them.

"Ah! Mom how long were you listening?" Gicchin stammered.

"I pretty much heard the whole thing," Mae crossed her arms. "I don't care if you don't like me. I'm here to train you, not be friends with you."

Chi stood up and got in her face. "This is what I'm talking about. You are just an arrogant ass."

"You are just as arrogant as I am," Mae said not backing down. Chi might be taller than Mae but she wasn't intimidated whatsoever.

"I am not arrogant!" Chi snapped letting her energy flare out.

"Prove it," Mae said bringing her hands up. She kicked at Chi who dodged the attack. "You think you are better than everyone else. You think that just because you have power that you don't need to learn new things." Chi punched at Mae who grabbed her arm. "Get real kid." She said as she punched Chi in the stomach.

"What do you know!" Chi yelled jumping back. "I am a hero of justice! You fight just for fun!"

"You're not wrong there," Mae said back flipping over Chi. "I fight because I enjoy it and want to push myself. I don't need empty titles like hero."

"You think it's just an empty title?!" Chi launched an immense energy ball at Mae.

Mae powered up to super saiyan god and sent a Kamehameha at the ball. The energies collided and exploded. Both Mae and Chi blocked the incoming energy. They flew straight at each other and became a flurry of punches and kicks.

"I don't see a hero," Mae said dodging an attack. "All I see is a little brat."

"That's it!" Chi roared unleashing even more power. "I've had it with your shit! You are nothing compared to me! Nothing compared to my father! And you are certainly nothing compared to my actual mom!"

"Oh really?" Mae smirked powering up to super saiyan blue. "Then prove it!"

Chi's anger was boiling over. She could hear her heart pounding in her ears. Right now the only thing she wanted was to defeat Mae. Nothing else mattered. If she had to tap into even more power then so be it. This woman was going to pay for the things she said. There was an internal drive that was pushing her further and further.

Mae brought her hands up as Chi sent a whirlwind of punches. Just like what Jiren used so many times. Her attacks were sharper and stronger, Mae wouldn't be able to dodge them all. A solid punch hit Mae clean on the jaw sending her flying backwards and onto the ground. Chi didn't wait to send an energy blast.

"Shit!" Mae swore bringing her hands up over her face. The blast went off and Mae dropped her form.

"Mom!" Gicchin yelled running over to her. "Damn it Chi! You overdid it!"

Chi blinked rapidly at what just happened. "I didn't mean to, is she dead?"

Gicchin rested a hand on Mae's chest. "No she's just unconscious. What the hell was that?"

"I don't know," Chi looked down at her hands. "I was just so angry and that's what was fueling me."

"Didn't mom say that Goku achieved super saiyan through anger?" Gicchin rubbed his chin. "Maybe you were tapping into that saiyan power."

"Saiyan power?" Chi tilted her head. "So you think she was trying to make me mad on purpose?"

"Probably," Gicchin nodded. "It's a good way to draw out power in saiyans."

"I'm so confused," Chi said dropping to her knees.

Mae woke up and rubbed her head. "You really got me, Chi."

"Are you okay mom?" Gicchin asked helping her up.

"Yea I'm fine," Mae nodded. "So now do you see your potential?"

"So you were just trying to bring out my power?" Chi looked up in surprise. "Is this what being a saiyan is?"

"Yea," Mae nodded. "Use your feelings, your pride, whatever it takes. You are strong."

"Geez now I feel kinda bad," Chi scratched her head.

"Don't," Mae shrugged. "I know I'm arrogant and a bit of an ass. That's just who I am and that's fine. I prove myself through fighting and I don't need to be a hero. I'll leave that stuff for Gohan and my dad."

"How is it you are so much like Vegeta?" Gicchin asked.

"Because he pretty much raised me," Mae shrugged. "Vegeta is an important person to me. I idolize him and I wanna be stronger than him."

"I see," Chi sighed. "I guess I am arrogant too."

"Most saiyans are," Mae winked. "But we have the power to back it up!"

She offered a hand to her daughter. Chi hesitated for a moment before taking it. She stood up now feeling like she was on equal ground with her mother. This woman wasn't a hero but she was still a warrior. Chi devoted her life to being a hero of justice but she was starting to learn that it's okay to enjoy the fight. She looked at her twin and started to understand his power more.

"Gicchin, let's fight together," Chi narrowed her eyes, feeling the excitement pulsing through her.

"Sounds good to me," Gicchin smirked powering up to super saiyan blue.

"Let's see if you two can work together," Mae grinned powering up as well.

Gicchin made the first move. He sprinted forward and grabbed Mae, pinning her against the ground. She kicked up at him and he jumped back giving Chi and opening to launch an energy beam. Mae quickly dodged it and appeared above Gicchin. She smashed him into the ground and Chi came flying at her. Mae began to evade her fists but Chi surprised her with a kick to her chest. Mae staggered back leaving room for Gicchin to attack.

"Destructo disc!" Gicchin yelled sending three discs at Mae.

Mae made energy blades and sliced through them. Only they weren't the real attack, Chi sent a huge blast of energy. Just as it hit, Mae powered up to super saiyan ice. She was breathing heavy as the smoke cleared.

"Looks like you two are finally working as a team," Mae said bringing her hands out in front.

"A final flash?" Gicchin asked running to Chi.

"Together then?" Chi asked bringing her hands to her side. Gicchin nodded following suit.

"Final Kamehameha!" Mae yelled.
"Kamehameha!" Gicchin and Chi yelled at the same time.

Their energies blended together forming a huge energy beam. It crashed into Mae's yellow wrapped beam. While she was stronger than the twins together they maximized their power. Mae continued to push trying to find more power but she was quickly overwhelmed by their energy. At the last second she dodged. The beam narrowly passed her and shot straight up and through the time chamber.

"Shit, looks like we got a little too carried away," Mae laughed as the time chamber crumbled around them.

"How did we break it?!" Chi gasped.

"I thought this place was unbreakable!" Gicchin exclaimed equally surprised.

"Mae! What did we say about breaking the time chamber?!" Dende called out above them. "This can't keep happening!"

"Wait this has happened before?!" Gicchin raised an eyebrow at the saiyan.

"Vegeta and I have broken it before," Mae laughed. "Sorry Dende!"

"I swear you saiyans," Dende shook his head.

Mae, Gicchin, and Chi flew up out of the now broken time chamber. Dende scolded them for being too hard on the place. He also gave Mae a warning that if she broke it again she wouldn't be allowed back.

Just as they were about to head back to Capsule Corp Beerus and Whis appeared in front of them. "Well now what do we have here?" Beerus asked looking from Mae to the twins.

"Aw crap," Mae groaned. "Hey Lord Beerus."
