Growing Rumors

(Aserial's POV)----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I looked down at the small, encased metal box, with the Human inside. My tail coils wrapped firmly around it. Finally, I had it. It was still hard to believe that a Human, of all prey, had been living with Queen Kara. Although deep down I wasn't suprised. I had always known that Kara was weak. At least to my standards. She didn't know how to rule with an iron fist, nor how to bestow fear into her subjects. Not like I could.

I smirked to myself as I watched the Dragon that had stolen the Human, stroll off. Wings tucked closely to their sides, tail end twitching slightly, giving nervous glances back as he hurried out of my sight. Just as I had requested.

Kara will fall. That is why I have the Human... Rumors are spreading, Dragons are growing restless. Kara was never fit to be ruler. Giving empty promises of emerging to the surface and overthrowing Humanity. And to think that the answers lie just within this box...

My cruel smirk grew bigger as I stared down at the box, and within, the Human. Kara's now apparent greatest treasure. A weak. Pathetic. Human.

Now that I have the Human, all I must do is use it to completely crush any support Kara has left, or perhaps Kara herself... She does seem to have an unusual connection to it. Too bad it's my plaything now... Once the Kingdom knows the rumors are true... That our beloved trusted Queen is a fraud... a lover of the race that should be food, not free and happy on the surface, there will be nothing she can do.

And soon, her entire Kingdom will be mine too and I'll the be the Queen it never had...

I stood up. Torch light making my purple and white underbelly scales glimmer and shine. For now, I had other matters to deal with. The Human had to wait, for now. I couldn't take it with me, but I knew what to do with it. I walked over to one the Dragons guarding the doors, at the end of the room. Go and get me Jenara, my daughter. Oh, and bring Argon as well. Perhaps that maggot might finally be useful.

The guard nodded, before rushing off to inform Jenara and Argon. I walked off, still clutching the metal box, with the Human still inside.

For now... I know a good, secure place to put this... Perfectly guarded by my trustful, murderous Daughter, and my persuasive, but still good for nothing son...

My stomach rumbled slightly. I hadn't eaten in a while. Perhaps after I was done with the Human, and it served no purpose to me... it would make a delicious snack...

(Y/N's POV)---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up groaning and aching. Everything hurt. Not to mention I had no idea where I was. I tried to think back to what happened before. Someone had kidnapped me. Who it was? I had no idea. Why they did it? I could only begin to imagine. Considering most Dragons, I had learnt so far, clearly had an affinity towards the taste of Humans, that only made me guess what was most likely to happen to me.

I reached out my hand and brushed against the metal wall and ceiling. I was clearly still in the cage that I had been kidnapped in. However, when I had been knocked out, my surroundings had been rocking and swaying as my captor moved... but now everything was silent and still. Apart from my breathing, which sounded much louder in the still air.

Thoughts began to rush into my head as I tried to think, but I struggled to do so. My thoughts felt sluggish after being unconscious, and my mind felt clogged and gutted. All I knew was that I probably wasn't in the Royal Palace. Honesty, I wasn't even sure how much time had passed since my kidnaping. Maybe it had only been an hour? Or maybe Kara was already looking for me? She was probably my only hope of escaping, but deep down, I knew that even if she got me back, I wouldn't be in a much better position with her then I am now.

A loud creaking noise came from outside the cage, before very muffled voices could be heard. The voices grew louder and louder, to the point where they were just outside. I tried to listen in to what they were saying, but before I could do anything, there was a tremendous ripping noise from all around me. I covered my ears, wincing from the noise, as it sounded like nails on a chalk board. Horrible and deafening. The cage trembled, as my groggy mind tried to process what was happening, before the entire top of the cage was simply ripped off, like someone ripping open a tin can. Light filled the space, before the cage tilted, and I was tipped into a much larger open area.

"Ahhhh, there you are little Human~ I've been looking forward to finally getting to meet the prey that won the heart of our beloved Queen..."

Suddenly, I felt myself in open air, as I was unexpectedly lifted up from behind. I swung around, only to come face to face with huge knife like teeth. I shrieked, as I kicked and squirmed as the huge mouth let out a roar of laughter at my helplessness.

"P-Put me down! P-please? Who e-even are you?! Why am I here?" I shouted at the Dragon that had picked me up. Although, the word 'shouted' was probably an overextraction. My voice trembled and stuttered with each word. Thick with fear. Sounding weak, and your captor knew it.

"Awwww, what's wrong? Expect me to be gentle. I'm certain Humans are getting more cowardly. Aren't you supposed to be the race that nearly wiped-out Dragon-kind? Doesn't seem like it. I guess that's my bad for thinking you'd be different to the other Human's I've eaten."

The Dragon said, before another voice sounded from behind you. This one sounded lower and more of a growl.

"Hey... Jenara ... Sis, I swear if you eat that Human, you're dead. Mother wants it. It's not for you. The Dragon behind you warned.

Jenara, who lowered you down away from her face snorted. A small puff of steam blew out of her nostrils.

"Oh shut-up Argon. That's what mother says about almost every Human. Or at least any that gets captured. She either eats them or sells them! Why would she do that?! They're rare enough as it is-"

The two Dragons continued arguing. Now that they weren't completely focused on you, you began to take in your surroundings a bit more. Starting with Jenara, which was the Dragon holding you.

She was big, but not as big as Kara. She was only just smaller, which made you think that she was probably younger as well, but you couldn't be sure. Her scales were a lightish red in color, with fiery orange eyes, and narrow slits for pupils. Her right eye had a long scar tracing down across the skull, before ending at the bridge of her snout. Her appearance almost reminded you of Kara in a way, which was why your mind had been quick to compare the two. From the way she had been speaking to you only seconds before, suggested she was probably just as cruel. (Which was most Dragons to be honest).

The second Dragon you couldn't see because of the angle you were facing, but at least they appeared to be against you getting eaten... so far.

"Sister! Please! You know what Mother is like. We're not even supposed to be in here, we're supposed to stopping other Dragons from getting to the Human, so it must be important. Besides, you're doing the exact opposite of what Mother ordered us to do!" Argon protested, before Jenara promptly answered back with a snarl.

"Why? It's just a Human. When it gets brought to Mother, it'll just end up like all the other Humans. Honestly, it's better off in my stomach then anyone else's."

She glared at her brother, who snorted, before simply replying; "Just let the Human go. Remember the rumors?"

"What? That the Human somehow has enchanting powers?" She sneered. Sarcasm showing across every inch of her face.

"W-Well, how else do you think it enchanted the Queen to fall in love-"

"Because that's ridiculous!" Jenara interrupted. "How could a Dragon fall for a-a Human! Prey! And not to mention, our 'Queen' won't be a queen for much longer. Mother will make sure of that." She snapped back.

"Jenara... Mother has her plans, but unfortunately, that Human is a part of them." Argon replied back.

"H-Hey! I'm still here you know. C-Could you please put me d-down at least?" I asked, feeling a little woozier. The angrier Jenara got, the tighter her grip had become on my body.

"Jenara... Put. The Human. Back... Now." Argon said, before his sister huffed.

"Fine. Have it your way." She said.  I was hoping that she would put me down, and I could figure out where I was, and possibly convince them not to kill me, until Jenara, to my shock simply lifted me and dangled me over her cavernous maw.

"I'll put the Human back where it belongs. This'll teach it for causing so much trouble." She growled, before dropping me, screaming, down towards her mouth. However, just before I fell in, she snatched me by the back of my shirt, as sharp teeth snapped shut just a meter from my feet. I screeched in terror as she laughed, clutching her stomach as she walked over to the end of the room, where there was a small table and a large metal box. It wasn't the same one I had been kidnaped in. This one was bigger and didn't have a lid. She lowered me down and dropped me inside. I crumpled into a shivering ball, shaking in terror and shock, as I had been taken completely by surprise.

"Heh, you Humans have always been so fun to tease. Shame you'll be dead soon. I'd have liked to keep you as a pet. Although, you probably wouldn't have lasted long..." She licked her lips, before trotting away, still laughing.

I looked up, to see her brother looming over me. A large Dragon with lightning blue eyes, and grey scales, with a blue underbelly and spiked scales across the back of his neck and back. There was a strange smile on his face.

"Honestly, she's right. I'd have done the same thing. However, unlike my sister, I actually fear my mother. I don't wish to end up like our father... She's not quite ready to see you yet, so consider yourself lucky."

"W-Wait. Wait! W-Who is your mother you keep speaking about, please. I just want t-to know where I am!" You stuttered, as you attempted to get up.

Argon had turned to leave, before he looked back at you. His blue eyes gave off an eerie feeling. Like he knew every thought... every feeling you had. His gaze just felt off.

"Aserial, if you don't know, is our mother. She is busy with other matters currently... She just appointed me too... well... let's just say keep an eye on you while me and my sister were here to introduce you to your new temporary accommodation." He gestured towards the larger cage you were now in.

"After all, if I wasn't here, you'd be digesting in my sister's stomach now. I can't blame her. She can't help it. She's crazy about the taste of Humans, just like our mother, so I advise you watch your togue."

He smirked at you, before walking away through the same door as his sister. I listened as I heard the door slam with a metallic bang, suggesting that it was probably made of metal, and after that, their voices fade away. I was still shaking. Perhaps Argon wasn't as friendly as I previously thought...

Not to mention, if those Dragons were horrible enough on their own, I couldn't begin to imagine what Aserial would be like... I had a sour feeling in the pit of my stomach, that I was going to find out very soon. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that the name 'Aserial' sounded familiar. Did Kara mention something, or someone like that at some point? I couldn't remember. Too many thoughts and feelings were rushing through my head.

Although, they did mention something about me and... magic? What could they mean by that? Surely not. Is that why she, and Sapphire fell in love with me? D-Did I do something?

I sighed, my breath shaky, still trembling slightly, as I took in my new surroundings. My new cage was, like my old one, completely barren, although at least it had no top, so I could see out, not to mention it was bigger and I could actually move around, but in the end, that wasn't much of an improvement. Especially when I was fearing for my life more and more.

I clutched my head, trying to process everything that was going on. A part of me wished that everything was just a nightmare, and that I would wake up soon, back in my old normal life, without a Dragon wanting to cuddle or eat me. Although, deep down, that would be too good to be true.

"God. Oh God, please help me... Why can't it just end?" I murmured to myself, already dreading of what was in store for me, and worse yet, which Dragon is most likely going to fall in love with me next....

What I didn't realize, was that this was already slowly begining to happen.... But with the last Dragon I expected...
