The Final Battle

The Fangpyres had finally come. I watched the warriors march through the city barriers and into the base.

"What should we do Commander?" one soldier asked.

I didn't know. I was a little scared of their giant staffs, which were given to them by the Blood Seekers to easily and effectively kill dragons. Aquidraki were swimming away as quickly as they could. The warriors turned towards the command center.

"Get them out of here at all costs!" I shouted to the Alliance soldiers.

The soldiers tried to fight the Fangpyres, but it was useless. Almost all of them fell to the ground upon contact with the staff. A few soldiers ran out of the base, saving their lives.

What could I do? The Fangpyres would come for me at any moment. I made up my mind to try to fly out. I summoned some magic in preparation for my escape.

The Fangpyres burst into the command center. I spread my wings, knocking a few Fangpyres away. Unfortunately, that gave their commander the opportunity to jump on me, dragging me downwards. He stabbed me with the staff. I could feel Death's cold hand taking me away as the commander clawed at my heart.

"Marlene..." I gasped.

I collapsed onto the ground and surrendered to Death.
