Over world Pov.

Thousands of years ago, a single egg was found by two Emerald Dragons, Rex and Hannah, in the middle of nowhere. They took the egg back to their cave, where they wait for it to hatch. The design covering the egg was odd. Half was black with a clouded moon and the other half was light blue with a sun. The Emerald Dragons wondered what kind of dragon would come out.

One day their friends Bruce the Sapphire Dragon and Corina the Ruby Dragon came over for a visit. They came over to see what their friends found.

"So this is the egg?" Bruce asked as he looked over the odd oval.

"Yeah. It was alone. There were no footprints around it either." Rex replied.

"I have never seen anything like it. It must be a new species." Corina said. Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Well whatever hatches, we will take care of it." Hannah said as she smiles.

The egg began to shake bringing the dragon's attention on the egg. Cracks raced across the surface. Two small and very different dragons came from the egg. One dragon was purple and red. His head looked like it was wrapped in red bone. There was a skull like red marking on his stomach. A small lizard stopped at his feet. His red eyes glared at the lizard. With lightning fast speed, he ate the lizard. Blood dripped from his maw.

"We'll call him Shadow..." Rex said. Everyone nodded in agreement slowly.

The second dragon was the opposite of her brother. She was light pink with dark pink markings. She also had dark pink bone covering her head. She looked at everyone with caring eyes.

"And this sweet little girl will be Jewl." Hannah said.

"Alright. So we have Shadow the...Dark dragon and Jewl the Light dragon." Bruce said.

"Yep. It seems that these two are one of a kind too. I haven't seen any dragon like this before." Rex said.

The friends soon left. Leaving the hatchlings with the Emerald dragons. They care for them for thirty years. As they raise them, they notice Shadow isn't just a dark dragon, but an Evil one. The met with Jewl while her brother slept.

"Jewl...we have realized that your brother is completely evil." Rex said.

"Yes...and we have decided that he needs to be locked up." Hannah finished.

"We will train you in the way of a guardian. You will feed him and make sure no one finds him." Rex explained.

"Alright father. I understand. I also have noticed his acts of evil." Jewl said.

"Good girl." Hannah said as she rubbed Jewl's head.

Four years later...Jewl is ready for her job. They lead Shadow to these ruins. They go deep inside to a chamber like area.

"Why did we come here?" Shadow groaned.

"It's a little field trip." Hannah giggled. Shadow rolled his eyes at his mother's goofiness.

"Come over to this wall Shadow." Rex said as he stood in front of the chained wall.

"What do you want me to do over here old man." Shadow growled.

"Just stay still!" Rex hissed. Shadow stiffed and obeyed.

Rex held up a big chain and strapped it around Shadow's neck. He began to struggle. Hannah and Jewl strapped two more around his legs. Rex strapped another on his tail.

"Hey! What are you doing!?" Shadow yelled as he struggled against the chains.

"It's for your own good and also the world's." Rex said.

He roared. Glaring at Jewl he shot his acidic fire. Jewl's eyes grew wide. A green blur rushed in front of her. It was Hannah. She had taken the acidic fire instead of Jewl. She fell to the ground with a thud. Her chest was sizzling away. Her ribcage was already visible. She looked at Jewl.

"K-keep t-this b-beast...l-loc...ked up..." She said weakly. Tears fell from Rex's and Jewl's eyes. Shadow looked at what he had done. Tears filled his eyes too.

"No..." Shadow whispered.

"Are you happy now!" Jewl yelled. Shadow shook his head.

"No...I didn't mean it..." He continued to whisper.

"You deserve to be locked up." Rex growled. Hannah's breathing was faint. She closed her eyes and she was gone. Jewl grabbed Hannah's tail and Rex grabbed her leg. They dragged her dissolving body out of the ruin. Tears falling off their chins.

Hannah's spirit rose up from her body. She looked down at her body, then at Rex and Jewl. She wanted to reach out to them, but she felt chills run up her spine. She slowly turned and faced two dragons she has never seen before. One wore a black cloak. He had bony legs and a bone tail with a scyth on the end. His head was a skull with his lower jaw and neck rotting flesh.

The other dragon was purple with ancient bones covering his back. He wore an ancient skull over his head.

"We have come for you." The cloaked dragon said. His red pupils staring at her. Hannah began to tremble.

"W-who are y-you?" She stuttered.

"I am Shi, the Death dragon. He is Spirit, the Ghost dragon. We collect the souls of dead dragons. Now come on...we don't need to fight. You will live forever in a paradise." The cloaked dragon said.

She looked at her sobbing family then back at them. "A-alright. I'll go..." She finally said. Spirit walked over to her. Her body begain to waver. She was absorbed into Spirit's body.

"Let's go Spirit. We have work to do elsewhere." Shi said. The two dragons of the dead vanished.

As the years passed, humans have had major technological advances. They have lasers that can slice through a dragon's scales and they have exploding bullets. Dragons live in fear that their home will be taken by the humans. To stop or at least halt their expansion, brave dragons give their lives to destroy construction equipment. All dragons pray to their Gods for help. Some Gods help while others ignore the pleas.

When ancient evils revive, the world will need help from the chosen one. Can the chosen defeat the evil or will he fail? Can one defeat many or will he need help from the ones he has meet along his journey? Find out as this story unfolds my hatchlings.
