I really hope you enjoy this chapter.

Wanna know the reason why I haven't been doing my stories? Here's the reason. My science grade has lowered from an A to a C, all because I couldn't turn in a 1,600 point project. And also because right now I'm doing the english testing to get out of ELD. And what I said last time was true. About no findimd the @ symbol in my mom's laptop. Luckily I was able to find it.

So I'll do my best to update faster, I promise. Now, let's go back to the story.

Summary: After the war against Drago Hiccup invites both His mom and Astrid to a picnic (after Berk went back to normal). Valka talks about her life with the Dragons.

-So, to make it a Hiccstrid chapter as well, this first part will all have hiccstrid.-

Hiccup POV

I was getting everything ready for the big day today.

Today both Astrid and I are going to invite my mom to a picnic. Astrid was getting both Stormfly and Toothless ready.

I went downstairs and went straight to look for Astrid. After a while of searching I was finally able to find her. "Morning My'Lady," I said, she turned around and smiled.

"Morning," she responded, she came closer to me and kissed my cheek. "Did you get the food?" she asked.

I nodded. "Yup, I have everything ready for today" I said, she smiled and took out something from her pockets.

"What is that?" I asked.

"Something you gave a long time ago." she said, she looked at it. "In this box I have something that is very important to me, Hiccup."

I looked at her with a confused face. She holded the little box between her hands.

"Remember our first couple fight?" she asked, while she opened the box.

"Y- yes," I said, blushing.

"Do you remember what I gave you when I was mad at you?" she asked, I scratched the back of my neck trying to remember.

"Umm, wait I need to remember." I said, I looked back at Astrid when both Stormfly and Toothless were looking at me with mad faces.

"Hiccup, you forgot." Astrid said, she looked away and placed the box away. "I thought you would remember."

She turned around to leave, but I stopped her.

"My betrothal gift to you, isn't?" I asked. She looked at me and smiled again.

"I thought you forgot," she said.

"I'll never forget, just like I'll never forget my one and only love." I said, she turned around and without a warning I kissed her on the lips.

When she kissed me back we heard a voice that we both now.

"Ew! Get a room you two!" We both heard Snotlout yelled.

We both looked at him blushing. He was looking at both of us with his arms crossed.

"Snotlout, mind your own business!" Astrid said, she looked at Snotlout annoyed and turned back to look at me.

"I'm just saying." he said, "Anyways you're mom was looking for you. She said she needed to talk to both of you about something".

I turned to Astrid, she took the box out again and placed the necklace on.

"Is that your betrothal necklace?" he asked, Astrid nodded and hopped on Stormfly.

"Common Hiccup, go get your mom I'll wait for both of you at the island," Astrid said, she grabbed the food for our picnic and and left.

"Snotlout, where's my mother?" I asked, he looked at me with a bored face.

"She's at Gobber's place."

"Right, thanks," I said, then both Toothless and I flew to Gobbers hut.

After a while we were finally able to find the.

"Hey mom, you ready?" I asked, she turned around and nodded.

"Yes, I'm ready. Where's Astrid?" she asked.

"She went to get everything ready for the picnic." I said. I looked at gobber, "Gobber can you cover for me today?" I asked.

"Yeah sure, just promise me you won't forget to bring me some more metal. We really need it." he said, before walking inside and started to work again.

"Yeah don't worry about it." I said, then mom followed me to the picnic.

Astrid POV

'Everything is almost ready', I thought to myself. I finished unpacking everything before Hiccup and Valka arrived. I slowly took out the drinks (which I think where water or juice or that think that gets people drunk.).

After a while I was finally able to finish everything, the drinks, food, and the fruit salad.

Finally I saw them flying toward us. I finished getting ready when they finally landed.

"Hey, what took you so long?" I smirked walking toward Hiccup.

"I was just looking for mom?" Hiccup responded before I walked up to Valka.

"Morning Valka," I said, smiling.

"Morning Dear," She said, smiling back.

I let them straight to where the food was before we sat down.

"So, tell me how did you two get in love?" Valka asked, I looked at Hiccup.

"Well, funny story." he said, launching.

"Really. Why funny?" She asked.

"Well it's not funny it's actually long." Hiccup said, he blushed and try thinking about something else.

"How come?" Valka asked, I could tell she was having fun.

"Well it's actually kind of confusing you see--" he said, right before I cut him off.

"We had always had a crush on each other. Except I didn't show it as much as Hiccup did." I said, I looked at him and he made a confused face.

"You were good at not showing anyone about your feelings." He said.

"Off course I was, in my clan you can't show them that you are weak." I said, I looked at him again. He kept his confused expression.

"What?" he asked, I laughed and so did Valka.

"Hiccup, I was the only person in Berk that didn't bully you, and you never noticed!" I laughed.

"I -I did" he said, he blushed and tried to find what to say.

"So when did you express your feelings?" Valka asked.

"I told him my feeling on my first flight." I said. "that's when I was finally able to realize how much he cared about me. Because he gave me his trust on that same night."

"Yeah, even though you punched me." he said, toothless that smiled and sat behind hiccup.

"then I kissed you" I said.

"Yeah, I guess you are right." Hiccup responded.

I then remembered that Valka was here. We both looked at her blushing. She was just sitting there smiling at the two of us.

"well, looks like the two of you always have something to say." she said.

I looked down and tried to think of something else. "How about, we change the subject." I asked. And she nodded.

"What would you like to talk about?" she asked.

"Mom, why don't you tell us how your life was with the dragons?" Hiccup asked, before taking his you that Valka made for him.

"Well, when I first got 'kidnapped' by the dragons. They took me to an island full of dragons. None of them even seemed like they wanted to eat me." she said, looking at her dragon.

"So you bonded to them, right away?" Hiccup asked.

"Yes, soon they protected me and I protected them. I learned fast, and took care of the injured."

"Wait, so since when did you began to rescue them from Drago's Army?" I asked, when she heard his name you could see the anger in her eyes.

"Drago, he didn't care if the dragons were hungry or injured. They had to do what he commanded or they were beat or even killed." She said, me and Hiccup where both really shocked.

"when I was sick of watching, I took action and rescued half of the dragons. When I took them to our island, I saw the happiness in the dragon's eyes. And from that day we began to rescue as much dragons as we could."

"You were a hero, mom" Hiccup said, he hugged Valka while I got another bite of the chicken.

I looked at the sky and thought about Stoick.

"I wish Stoick was here." I said, I looked closely to the clouds and one of them seemed to look like him.

"We all want him to be here, Astrid he was a great man." valka said, bother her and Hiccup layed on the grass.

We all looked at the sky, the clouds began to form beautiful images before they disappeared.

"I loved to do this at night with your father Hiccup, we loved to see the stars together and see who was able to count more before falling asleep." Valka said, Hiccup looked at her and handed hera note.

After a I noticed Hiccup sleeping and I thought Valka was too. I kept on looking at the sky and began to remember the edge, where hiccup Finally told me that he loved me.

It was starting to get boring, I slowly got up and sat at the end of the clip.

"Anything, bothering you dear?" I heard valka ask.

"There's nothing wrong, it's just strange." I responded, she looked at me and sat down

"How strange? Is it the war or something else that's seems to be bothering you?" she asked, I felt her place her hand on my shoulder.

"It's just, how where you able to do that?"

"Do what, dear?"

"Lead all of those Dragons, free them, heal them." I responded.

She smiled while she felt the wind, "I had always had a bond with dragons, from the very beginning they were never my enemies." valka said, patted her dragon and kept on looking at the view.

"You know that little toy iccup has, he has kept it like forever. Even when he was only 18 he would have it in his hut back at the edge." I said, smirking.

"Edge?"

"Oh right, we use to have a base called the edge but then we left" I said

"How long did you lived there?" She asked

"Like about a year and a half" I responded, "there both me and Hiccup began dating."

"Was that the time you met the Wingmaidens?" she asked. I looked at her in shock

'Yeah they were the ones that said, that they new someone that new somebody who could take care of the egg."

"Yeah, that was me."

I sigh and layed again on the grass.

"I miss the old days, when Hiccup had more time to be with all of us." I said.

"I'm sure you'll be a great fife for my son, because you are a great- daughter- law for me" she said, she gave me a hug and I hugged back.

"Thank you" I said, she shook her head while she looked at me.

"Thank you, Astrid for being a great girlfriend for my son." she said, looking at Hiccup.

"No problem Valka, I love Hiccup more than he imagines." I said, smiling before we went back to lay on the grass.

I felt hiccup Turn around before he hugged me and brought me closer to his body.

"I love you"

"I love you, too"
