Summary: Astrid begins feels lonely and decides to break up with Hiccup. When they try to protect the ArmorWing, she is captured by the Dragon Flyers and taken away. Hiccup must find her before something terrible happens to her.

-The Break-up

Astrid POV

A Royal Wedding for Mala and Dagur. I kept on thinking over and over. I was lying on my bed with Stormfly on the end. I sank more and more into my thoughts I didn't even notice Stormfly for a while. I softly patted her and looked to the side.

'The betrothal necklace'

With a smile, I grabbed the necklace, making me remember the day Hiccup gave it to me. "You're part of our family always have and will always be," he said. His sweet and sensitive voice which always makes me forget I'm a warrior. I looked at it again with happiness and all the love I feel for him.

I heard someone knock at the door. With full excitement, I got up and ran downstairs hoping to see Hiccup. Sadly, when I opened the door my excitement changed to disappointment in seconds when I saw it wasn't him. It was the twins.

"You, uh, want the yak or the fish?" said Tuff while Ruff was holding a book and pencil

"Huh, What?" I asked with a confused face.

"For the Royal Wedding," I heard Ruff say pointing her pencil up.

"It's important to have an accurate count before we- " Tuff said, looking side to side and began talking in a weird way. "Kill all the fish and all the fishes." He looked back at Ruff and Looked at me again. "All the fish. Hey! Nice necklace A!" He said noticing the necklace and pointing at it.

"Yeah, thanks," I said, still with a confused face.

"Please tell me it's not that disgusting salted sea bass, bleh," I said with disgust. They both looked at me with mad expressions.

"How would you like your yak cooked," he asked leaving.

"I knew we shouldn't have asked her" yelled Ruff following her brother.

I looked up and smiled when I saw Toothless landing in front of my hut.

"Hey, so can you believe this wedding?" Hiccup asked as I tried to get his attention on the necklace.

"I've never seen Dagur so passionate about anything, well, except when he tried to kill me,

"He said. I kept on trying to get his attention, but only Toothless noticed.

"Yeah they don't seem to take their eyes off each other," I said, looking at the necklace and trying to make him notice.

"So! Want to deliver some scrap metal?" he asked with excitement. I sighed in disappointment, but agreed to go.

.

When we arrived, we all placed the scrap metal down and waited for the ArmorWing. Then, Dagur began to cry because he missed Mala. I growled in anger and began to walk. "Hey, is everything alright?" Hiccup asked with a caring tone. I quickly turned to tell him, but Dagur grabbed him and began to ask questions about the wedding. After they talk the ArmorWing came.

The ArmorWing came and I got Hiccup's attention again, I tried to see if he had notice the necklace but instead he notice a Dragon Eye Lense on the ArmorWing.

-Later, (After the flyers left)

I walked with sadness holding my right arm. I was so mad I didn't notice Hiccup behind me,

"So, anything you want to talk about?"

"If you don't already know, then I'm not telling you," I said while I kept walking. Then he said something that made me even more mad.

"Look if you don't tell me what's wrong how am I supposed to help you?" he asked.

I growled with anger and turn around to look at him. "Hiccup, I've been wearing this betrothal necklace all day. Did you even notice?" I asked, showing him the gift he gave me. "No, you know what, never mind. Of course you didn't," I yelled when he finally noticed.

"Oh, oh! Hey wow, no I-it looks great," he said

"Seriously," I said, looking at him still with a mad expression.

"Uh, no, I mean, yes, well it does. It does look great on you. What would you like me to say?" He asked trying to look excited.

"Do you have any idea how that feels, Hiccup?"

"Astrid, just because I didn't notice the necklace right away, doesn't mean I don't care. I don't know I guess when it comes to accessories, I'm not the noticing type," he claimed trying to convince me.

"Oh well, you didn't have any problem noticing the lenses on the ArmorWing, oh right, wait, because it's a dragon," I said still with an angry tone.

"Astrid......."

"It's like I'm invisible to you," I said, looking away and holding my arms.

"Oh I notice, I always have," Snotlout said pointing at himself, "It's never too late to join team Jourgensen." I gave him a death glare which made him laugh nervously.

"Dagur and Mala have known each other for a few months and they can't stand being apart, we've known each other our whole lives Hiccup, and I never felt further away from you." I said, taking the necklace off and tossing it to him.

He catch it with both hands and looked at me. "I think it's best if we just forget about it for a while," with sadness in my voice I turned around. "It's the best for the two of us," I said. It was complete silence when we heard the ArmorWing land.

Moments later we began to follow the ArmorWing up to the clouds. I stayed behind when I noticed some flyers flying strait to me. "Come on girl, we have to warn the others!" I yelled. Stormfly began to fly up when more flyers appeared from the clouds.

"Fire the Nadder!" yelled the flyer in the orange and red Singetail, they all began to attack us, luckily Stormfly was able to dodge all of the attacks.

"Grab the Girl!" I heard another flyer yell.

My eyes winded when I realise their orders. Stormfly kept on flying but the flyers were able to surround us. I quickly spotted one of the flyers with a bow and dragon root arrow, the flyers shot the arrow strait to Stormfly's tomy. Without thinking it twice I dodge the arrow with my leg. It hit me straight in my right leg. I quickly grabbed it and pulled it out. I felt a big pain in my leg, I notice the flyers were distracted and told Stormfly to attack them.

Suddenly the hunters hegan to fly around us again, 'come on think,' I thought to myself. One of the flyers had ropes on his hand, when I noticed what they were up to I ordered Stormfly to fly down.

"DON'T LET HER ESCAPE" I heard the flyer yell.

Stormfly dived down and began to fly away from the flyers. After awhile they stopped attacking and just followed us, I saw we were really far from the Island. I noticed another Island not far away with a waterfall. "Common, girl I have a plan," I said, Stormfly was about to land when I noticed dragon hunters hiding in the trees.

Moments later Stormfly began to fall, I noticed the Dragon arrow on her leg. "Oh no," I said. We began to fall when one of the flyer grabbed me by the waist. He hold me like that until Stormfly hit the water and all the hunters ran up to get her. "Stormfly!" I yelled, the flyer didn't pay attention and quickly forced my hands behind my back. He tightly tied both my wrists together and hoisted me over his shoulder.

I began to struggle, but it didn't seem to work. "Let Me Go!" I yelled, with anger. They kept on flying until I hear the waterfall. There was a cave hidden behind the water. "Where are you taking me?" I asked, the flyer didn't say anything and finally landed behind the waterfall like the others.

He kept me on his shoulder knowing I couldn't walk. I tried taking a look around, but I only saw how most of the hunters smirking at me and getting back to work. "Why am I here?" I asked.

Without saying a word he took me to a room.

Unlocking the door he took me inside the dark room and made me kneel in the middle of the room. "I'll be back with a healer," he said, not saying anything else he slammed the door and locked it from the outside.

Kneeling on the dark room I felt a big pain coming from my leg. I looked down with tears falling. "Please be okay, please be okay," I said, over and over threw my sobs.

Hiccup POV

I looked at the ocean from outside of the Clubhouse. Asking where Astrid went. I saw Mala approaching. "Where could she be?" I asked, she looked at me sat down.

"I'm sure she's fine Hiccup Haddock," Mala said, trying to cheer me up. "You know she is a warrior," she said.

I signed and kept on looking at the ocean. "It's all my fault," I said, looking at her. "She's always there for me, know I have to be there for her," I said.

"So where should we go look for her?" asked Dagur.

"I think it would be a great if we search where we left the scrap metal," I said, I grabbed the dragon eye lens and put it in Toothless saddle bag.

"So, is this a rescue mission?"

I turned around and saw the twins in front of the Clubhouse. "Let's hope it's not," I said, I mounted Toothless and looked at the rest of the gang. "Twins you guys come with me, Mala, Dagur and Snotlout, can you go check if she didn't head for the northern markets."

"Really, how come I'm always getting send to that place!" Yelled Snotlout with anger.

"You want to fight the flyers and Krogan?" I asked, not in a mood to take any joke. He looked at me with a nervous face.

"You know what, I think I'll go with them," he said, getting on Hookfang and not saying another word.

I looked at Fishlegs. "Fishlegs can you stay here and protect the Edge?" I asked, he nodded.

"Don't worry Fishlegs," Mala started. "Throck will be here soon," she finished. He smiled and looked at Meathlog.

"Common" I said, we then began to fly, Mala, Dagur and Snotlout went the other way while we kept on flying foreword.

"Astrid, please forgive me."

Astrid POV

It's been hours. A hunter came a while ago and made me sit down in the corner, then left. My leg still hurts a lot, It feels like the pain gets worse every minute. I tried to grab one of my daggers that are hidden in my belt. I was about to get one of them when I hear footsteps coming from outside.

I quickly let go of the dagger and looked at the door as I saw the flyer come in with three Dragon Hunters.

I looked up, he didn't say a word and forced me to stand and kneel on the middle of the room again. One of the hunters finally came inside and smirked at me.

"If we keep her here, the boy will do anything to get her back. Make sure you are careful so they don't find this place until a month has past," he said, looking back at the flyer. "So tell me," he started "was it hard to get her?" he smirked.

"Not really," the flyer responded "it was easy".

I looked up with confused expression when the hunter came right in front of me. "know tell me, where are the lenses?" he asked.

I just looked at him without saying a word. He quickly grabbed my chin and forced me to look straight at him. "I think she wants to do this the hard way," he said, before the healer came inside.

"Wait!" I yelled, the hunter turned around and looked at me. "Where is my dragon?" I asked.

He just laughed and left the room.

The healer came inside and more the looks of his face I had to take my leggings off. He got up and went straight outside before another person came in. I looked at the person and saw it was a girl, she looked like my age.

"I'll be back, call me if she tries to escape," said the hunter before closing and locking the door again.

The girl came behind me and untied my wrists, I rubbed them and looked at her while she took some bandages out of her bad.

"Who are you?" I asked, I looked at her more closely and saw she had some scars around her shoulders. "Wh- What did they do to you?"

"I'm not supposed to talk about it," she said, you could tell she was scared.

"What's your name?" I asked, while I took my leggings off.

"R- ruby," she said.

I smiled "My name is Astrid, Astrid Hofferson," I finished. She smiled and began to check on my wound. "How long have you been here?" I asked.

She sign with sadness and told me what happened. "I was the best healer from my clan, when it was attacked by the flyers years ago," Ruby said, with tears falling down her cheeks. "They murdered everyone including the boy I loved." she began to take off her shirt. Her whole back was full with whip marks.

"Why did they do this to you?" I asked.

"I refused to help them, so they chained my hands to a pole and whipped me until I gave up and said that I'll heal them," she cried "my family was murdered in front of me and the my boyfriend was thrown off a cliff just like my friends."

I couldn't believe what they did to her. By the time she finished talking, my leg was already bandaged. I quickly placed my leggings on and tried to make feel better. "Why don't you escape with me and my friends?" I asked

"What! No." she started "You really don't want to see what they do when the caught you trying to escape."

"What are they going to do to me?" I asked, before I tried to walk.

"Probably the same thing they did to me," she said, I quickly understood the reason why they had brought me here. "Maybe if you do what they tell you, probably they'll go easy on you."

"No, I'll not betray anyone" I said.

"Please, I don't want them to hurt you," Ruby begged.

"No," I thought there is no way I'll show them I'm weak I won't tell them anything even if I have to die. "YOU HEAR ME!" I shouted, "I WON'T TELL YOU ANYTHING!"

I felt how Ruby covered my mouth, "Please astrid, they'll hurt you," she said.

"I won't tell them anything for my friends, my island, my clan, my family, my boyfriend and I won't tell them anything for my new friend you." I said hugging her. "You won't be alone anymore I'll help you find your friends okay" I said.

"but my friends are dead," Ruby said, with sadness in her voice and soul.

I looked at her and smiled "check on the outside of the waterfall I remember spotting some teenagers while they brought me here" I said.

She looked at me with happiness and quickly came to hug me. "thank you, thank you" she said with tears of happiness.

"No prob- " I got cut off when the door was opened and the hunters came in side.

"Take the girl outside" the hunter commanded, "we'll see if she tells us what we need to know" the hunter smirked at me while the others forced me outside of the room.

They took me to another room where they chained my wrist and forced them over my head. I saw how one of them grabbed a whip ready to torcher me. I closed my eyes and waited for the pain.

'I won't betray you Hiccup, I promise'

I kept my eyes closed and let the pain come to my body, every time I felt the whip hit me I bite my lip more. I felt tears fall down my cheeks.

One by one the hunters took turns on whipping me each one harder than the one before. After a while they realise I wasn't going to tell them anything they stopped.

"She's stronger than she looks" said the hunter, he came came right behind me with a key and took off my chains. I quickly fell to the ground on my knees. I still had tears falling from my cheeks. I almost couldn't move because of the pain on my back.

The hunters left the room before I saw Ruby flash into the room. "Oh my god, look at how they left you," she said.

"I'm fine, I had worst things happen to me in the past" I said, I tried to stand but my legs were weak. "we have to get out of here."

"How? There are lots of hunters and flyers here" Ruby said rubbing some blue liquid to by back.

"Well, I'll keep on looking for a way out" I said, I grabbed her from the arm and whispered the plan on her ear. She nodded but she was still not sure on what I was going to so. "If I'm able to get to my dragon, I can come back and get you"

"Al- alright,'' she said.
