Chapter 9
When Sanji woke up he looked around and noticed that Nami, Franky, and Chopper were in the same room as him. He also saw that they were all awake. The cook glanced around and grumbled.
"What happened?" He groaned while standing up. Nami looked over her shoulder at him.
"We were knocked out by sleeping gas and brought here. At least that's what I'm guessing." Nami stated with a sigh.
Chopper frowned. "I hope the others are okay. M-maybe they'll find us?" The reindeer hoped. Franky grumbled while crossing his arms.
"Well, it looks like they only nabbed the four of us. Maybe Brook and Kari are okay and can help us in case the others can't. Though I doubt that." The cyborg chuckled.

On another part of the Ice land side of Punk Hazard near the facility that held Nami, Sanji, Franky, and Chopper was a special building made with odd materials and filled with many machines and chemicals. In one of the four rooms in this building, Kari lay on a medical bed with a dome attached to her head that was hooked up to an strange machine that constantly let out a small hum that changed pitch, the higher the pitch was the more active the brain. Right now the pitch was a low hum, not very high. It also blinked in unison with Kari's brain showed the waves on a screen that was 20x20 inches. The screen showed an array of colors, each indicating something else. In the bottom right corner of the screen was a number that kept changing and next to the screen was another screen that was the same size and was completely black, yet upon further inspection some parts were changing color a bit and seemingly moving. Another machine that Kari was hooked up to measure her heart rate, and lastly there was a mask over Kari's mouth and nose that was hooked up to another machine so she would stay asleep. The youngest Strawhat member was now dressed in typical patient clothing and her hair was no longer pulled up into her usual ponytail and her scarf was removed to reveal some claw and bite scars from when she was four years old, though her right arm was still bandaged.
Other than Kari in this room, there was another woman that was in her late thirties and an average height and a slightly more muscular than average build and an hourglass-like body shape. She wore a lab coat with polished black shoes and dark blue pants. Her shirt was a v-neck that was an appealing shade of teal with a black stripe around her torso. Her eyes were a kind hazel brown while her hair was a shimmering shade of maroon. She sighed while writing down some findings on her clipboard then looked at the machine that displayed Kari's brain waves. She sighed.
"It has only been an hour and no progress has been made. This'll take days maybe weeks or months. We can't keep her under that long, it might kill her." She sighed in frustration at the current situation. "We need her alive for testing, we need to know how she works." She then wrote some more things down on the clipboard. Soon footsteps echoed in the hall outside the door.
"This is where my master wants you to be for now." A voice echoed from outside.
"Why's that?" Another voice sighed.
"Because you're a doctor and can help any of our patients here if anything were to happen." Soon the door to the room opened and in walked a woman that was in her mid forties and wearing similar clothing, dirty blond hair, and bright green eyes and the lower half of her body was a deer. She was apparently some kind of test subject or something, unlike the other woman who was completely human in appearance. "This "patient" is top priority here as of now." She said while a slim man followed her inside.
The man had a relatively tall height and a slightly buff build. He had faint shadows right under his yellow eyes and black hair, a majority of which was obscured, save for his sideburns and small soul patch, by the fur hat that he wore, which was white and had spots on the bottom and along the rim. He wore a long black coat with the Heart Pirates jolly roger along the hem and on the sleeve in yellow with spots near it in the same color, a pair of blue jeans with black spots, and black shoes. On both of his hands, are letters spelled as D E A T H tattooed in black on each of the back of his fingers. He also had a black "x" like shape on the back of both of his hands.
The man scanned the room then looked at Kari, quickly recognizing her. He stared in slight shock, not sure why she was here. The woman who was in the room first then stepped up towards the two who just entered the room.
"Ah, Mr. Law, Mrs. Shinku, hello." She smiled nervously.
"Hello Maica." Shinku sighed then took a few steps forward while taking out a pair of reading glasses. Maica then handed Shinku the clipboard she was writing on moments before. "How's it coming along?"
"She..." Shinku turned towards Maica and raised an eyebrow while frowning, not liking how Maica began her sentence. "Uh! I-I mean, it's going to take a while to regain what it lost." Law leaned on the rim of the door and listened.
"How long?" The older woman asked.
"Possibly months." Maica replied with a shaky tone. Shinku grumbled and cursed under her breath. She then turned to Law.
"Stay here and help Maica while I..." Just then an alarm sounded.
"We have spotted Marines entering the west side of the island. Repeat, we have spotted Marines entering the west part of the island." The alarm ended and Shinku growled again.
"On second thought, you might want to go deal with that." She said. "Maica, stay here for now please. I'll be back later so you can have a break." Shinku then handed the clipboard back to Maica and turned to leave.
"Yes ma'am." Maica nodded and the two left, Law glancing back before he turned the corner. Maica sighed then turned to the peaceful child with a sad expression. "I'm sorry..." She muttered then began writing down some statistics and adjusting some settings on the mask, turning off the sleeping gas for the time being. She then stuck an IV in the girl's elbow and hooked it up to some water to keep her hydrated for now.
"This'll have to do." She thought and gulped while writing down some more statistics.
Thirty minutes passed and Shinku returned with a grumble. "How are things here?" She asked with a huff. Maica turned to the older woman and smiled.
"All good. Sh--- Err, it's stabilized and has inhaled enough sleeping gas to stay under for a few hours so I turned off the gas for the time being." Maica reported while handing over the clipboard. Shinku sighed. "How about you?"
"We've got trouble. The others that were captured on the same ship as this WMD broke out of their cell and broke out the children in Biscuits Room. The children were spotted by the Marines and they are now being hunted down by our men." Maica nodded with a concerned expression. "I'll make sure that this building is well hidden so we can continue our research on this thing." Shinku stated.
"Alright." Maica replied.
"You can go on break now. Sorry for keeping you waiting for so long. I'll take it from here." The younger woman nodded then hesitantly left the room.

Outside the building Kari was held in and a bit north were a bunch of giant knocked out kids and what looked to be Sanji with a Chopper sign on his head and Franky with a Nami mask on his head.
"I wonder what they've been put through." Franky frowned then looked towards Sanji. "What about you think, Chopper?"
"I'm not sure. Other than the steroid I found in them, I can't say for certain." Sanji, apparently Chopper, let out a sigh. Not long later the two began to feel the ground rumble. "What the?! Earthquack?!"
"No! Look!" Franky, actually Nami, pointed towards where a cannon shot sounded. A cannonball then hit the mountain behind them, causing some rocks to tumble. As this took place Luffy, Chase, Usopp, Franky in Chopper's body, and Robin were all looking around the island when Luffy found a trail of giant footprints.
"Whoa!" He gasped. "Bigfoot!"
"Wait, the size of the footprint or the beat?" Usopp huffed while holding Chase, who was still tired for some reason.
"Both." Luffy chuckled then Robin went wide eyed upon seeing the direction of the prints.
"Luffy," She said quickly. "We should head back quickly. Whatever made these footprints is heading towards Chopper and Nami." Luffy blinked then nodded and the group raced back quickly.
While Luffy beat the living daylights out of the two fuzzy giants known as the yeti cool brothers, Scotch and Rock, inside the main facility in a room with many books Law sat with his arms crossed and one leg draped over the other while a woman resembling the mythical harpy. She had white feathered wings instead of arms that fade to light green at the edges, talons instead of feet, and a feathered tail. She had the build of an average human, but her long legs made her somewhat taller than average. She had long, wavy, light green hair and light brown eyes. She wore a green tank top with "HAPPY" written in dark green on the chest and yellow cut-off pants with orange stripes. She was sitting at a desk reading with a pair of reading glasses that had a swirl on the lenses.
Standing in the middle of the room, across from Law, was a man that was very gaseous looking. He had very long, spiky, dark hair, brown eyes, and two curly horns growing from the back of his head. He appeared to be pretty tall, and wore purple lipstick and dark makeup on his eyes. He had a small flat nose and long thin eyebrows. His arms were very thin in comparison with to rest of his body.
The man wore a big light blue colored coat with "GAS" printed in pink on each side. Under his coat, he had on a pair of diagonally striped yellow overalls which were striped horizontally with orange lines. The overall was cut off right under his knees, exposing his hairy legs. He also wore dark purple gloves with the initials "CC" in white on them. Due to his constant gaseous form, he seems to not use shoes.
"So, Caesar" Law began with a huff. "Mind explaining why that one girl is in her own building?" He asked with a huff, wanting answers. The man, known as Caesar Clown grumbled. "I am going to be looking after her health, I have a right to know." Caesar hummed in thought, thinking over the possible outcomes.
He sighed. "I've been pursuing her for a few years now. Ever since I stumbled upon some information fourteen years ago, I've been wanting to run tests on her."
"Just her?"
"Well, I'd spoil the surprise if I told you everything now would I?" Caesar chuckled. "Just know that she's wanted alive by the government for a reason." He said then Law took his leave.
Hours later Law and Luffy formed an alliance and Law told Luffy about Kari being held in a building.
"What?!" Luffy called in rage. How could he let his crewmate get caught?
"Relax. I can get her in a moment. Last time I checked she was safe." Law informed with a sigh. Luffy was still pissed and Chase stood up on top of Robin's head with a groan.
"Law," The dragon yawned. "Is there any Drain-Stone here?" The warlord nodded. "Figures."
"Drain-Stone?" Nami, now in Sanji's body, asked. Chase looked towards Nami, looking more awake than before.
"It's a stone that makes any, from your point of view, mythical beings tired as well as those who use their abilities. It's a manmade stone, from what my dad told me when I was younger back on Dara Dara, but somehow it started "growing" on its own somehow. From a certain distance mythical beings get tired from it, seemingly draining the stamina from them, making them very tired and weak. This effect wears off after a while, depending on how strong or weak the target is, ranging from a few minutes to hours. The stronger the being is, the quicker they bounce back. But if one touches a Drain-Stone, the effects are similar to that of Sea-Stone. The effects on me are wearing down a bit, but I'm still a little tired."
"So, it's basically Sea-stone that makes certain people tired from afar for a certain time and has similar effects and only works on mythical beings and those who use the same abilities." Robin summed up Chase's explanation. "Maybe that was the stone I saw while we were underwater, when Kari and Chase got sick." She mumbled.
"It usually produces deep in the ocean near Sea-Stone, giving off a neon teal glow when it has started draining energy, so it's more than likely that you saw it." Law sighed. "I'll go and get Kari while you guys handle this. Which of you is the doctor? I'll need your help for this as well as the my next task." Minutes later Usopp was tieing Chopper, in his original body, onto Law's head. Chase decided to join as well, despite him being practically useless. The three then made their way to the building Kari was being held.
