Backstory: Youngest known daughter of Tide. Was raised by her older sister the first duchess Seahorse after being left at the castle's steps by Tide. Seahorse wasn't the best guardian, often leaving her brother seaweed to look after to look after the little dragon. She was considered odd looking yet surprisingly beautiful. Many dragons asked for her claw in marriage even though she wasn't even a few years old yet. Griffin was eventually forced to marry Bullfrog, a Noble guard of Seahorse's who she had promised a wife to. They had an unhappy marriage, Bullfrog just being the kind of male Griffin wanted. They eventually had a cub named Violet before Griffin made a daring escape for the land above the sea.
Her escape attempt landed her near a human village where she discovered her own human form. Griffin was considered an Angel, treated with respect and love that the female had never seen before. She fell in love and married a human male and had two kids with him (Wallow, male) (Diamond, Female). Griffin finally thought she found happiness before Tide showed up, angered by their daughter's choices. They completely destroyed and killed everyone in Griffin's village before taking Griffin back to the Vand Kingdom, back to her first husband.
Seahorse scolded Griffin before locking her up in the dungeons of the Vand kingdom. She lived their for 20 years, only being allowed out when Bullfrog summoned her. Their relationship was at it's all time worse, with Bullfrog yelling at her constantly and not allowing the female to see her daughter Violet. Griffin missed the fresh air of the surface world, the soft glow of the sun. She missed everything that had to do with the sky. Griffin opened (up to and eventually got into an affair with one of the Royal cooks, finding him attractive and kind. They were in a secret relationship for three years before both made an escape attempt for the open air. Bullfrog tried to stop her but the cook gave up his life for Griffin. She took shelter in a discreet cave.
The poor dragon didn't know it at the time but she was expecting the cook's cubs. She gave birth to three sons (Tidepool, Narwhal, and Eel). She raised them hidden in the cave for two years before a human female found them. Griffin hid her sons and took human form before greeting the female. Evening visits began to happen more commonly and romantic feelings began to spew. When the female offered to take the Dragon in disguise back to her village, Griffon freaked and ultimately refused. When the female returned the next day, Griffin was in her dragon form and scared the female away.
Griffin couldn't take the isolation of her sons and herself any longer. She knew that she needed to leave this cave, find a safer home. With enough courage she took off over the sea, making way to the sky before being stopped by Tide. Not wanting to run anymore, the female battled the deity and surprisingly won, zipping past their parent and making way for the sky. She eventually went back for her sons and created the Luft Kingdom. She never took another mate ever again and now resides with the other Deities. It is rumored that Tide hides away in the sea due to the shame of being beaten by their daughter.
