Chapter One: Meeting
Third Person POV
"words" = dragonese
"How long has it been?" a Night Fury asked her rider. "A couple days. I wouldn't be surprised if they had managed to capture someone else or a couple more dragons, to be honest." an auburn haired, forest green eyed girl with an intricate masked replied. "Who do you think he'll kidnap next?" the Night Fury asked. "I don't know Phantasmia. I don't know." the girl replied sadly.
Suddenly, the cage the girl was in opened, and a boy with auburn hair, forest green eyes, and a prosthetic leg was thrown in, while the cage containing the Night Fury was opened and another one was thrown in. "Hope you enjoy your stay." one of the Outcasts said to the boy as he closed the door to the cell. He then walked away to who-knows-where on Outcast Island.
"Are you ok?" the girl asked the boy, concerned as to why they brought another human here. "I'm fine. What about you?" the boy questioned, standing up. "I'm fine. But I do have to wonder, why are you here?" she asked, interested as to why they brought him. "Alvin wants me to train his dragons. If I don't, he'll hurt my dragon." the boy said, looking over at the dragons in the cage.
"Why are you here?" he suddenly asked. "Same reason as you." she said simply, leaning against one of the walls of the cell. "How'd you get here?" the girl asked, quite interested. "Alvin had a trap set on the Isle of Night. I fell for it and now we're here." the boy said. "The Isle of Night that you were caught on, isn't the real Isle of Night." the girl said, looking directly at the boy. "What do you mean?" the boy asked, curious. "I mean, that the real Isle of Night can't be found during the day. It reveals itself at night, when the Night Furies are more active." the girl explained.
"So, how did you get caught?" the boy asked, leaning against the opposite wall the girl was on. "A careless mistake while flying." the girl said. "Anyway, what's your name?" the girl asked. "My name's Hiccup. And you are?" the boy now identified as Hiccup asked. The girl seemed to freeze up at this. "Your name is Hiccup?" the girl asked, still shocked for some unknown reason. "Yes. Why? Do you have some sort of connection with that name." Hiccup demanded, sitting up straighter. "I do." the girl said, narrowing her eyes. "What kind of connection?" Hiccup asked, narrowing his eyes similarly. The girl sighed. "I had a twin brother named that. I was taken by my companion dragon when I was five, for some reason. I've helped the dragons out as a 'human who has betrayed their own kind' when vikings were killing dragons. Now that they aren't, I don't know how they'll react to me. I doubt Alvin is a good example, but I do wish to go home someday." the girl said, remembering something.
"Which reminds me, the dragons wanted to thank you for freeing them from the Red Death." the girl said, staring at Hiccup again. "I'm honored that they thank me for saving them, but how can you understand them? And why did you tell me about some of your past?" Hiccup asked, scooting closer to the girl. "I understand them because I've been living with them most of my life. As to why I told you about some of my past, you should know that answer, Hic." the girl said, her mask hiding a smirk underneath. "No one's called me 'Hic' since- *sharply intakes breath*, Yona?" Hiccup asked, completely stunned. "Nice to see you again to, Hic." the girl now identified as Yona said with complete sarcasm.
"Geez Yo, can't you be nicer to your brother?" Hiccup asked, sarcasm and fake hurt in his voice. "On a completely different topic," Yona said, ignoring her brother's eye roll at the change of topics, "How did you find your Night Fury?" Yona asked. "He was attacking the village with some other dragons, I shot him down and he fell into the forest. I found where he fell, freed him because I couldn't kill him, trained him and made him a new tail, and saved dragons by killing the Red Death and loosing a limb in the process. So, how'd you meet your dragon?" Hiccup asked. "Like I said earlier, she took me away from home and I grew up with her. She let me meet her family and your dragon's family." Yona said, waiting for Hiccup's reaction.
She was interrupted from listening to his reply when she heard the happy noises coming from the cell where the dragons were. "Geez Phantasmia. You finally found a mate, but couldn't you have tried to hide yourself until we got out of here? I mean, come on! You're the same species for crying out loud!" Yona complained to her dragon. "Well excuse me if he found me out! It's hard to mask my scent in a stone cell that barely allows room to move!" Phantasmia growled back. "Why are you growling at your rider?" a male voice chimed in. "What's your name, Night Fury?" Yona asked, ignoring the confused look on Hiccup's face. "Toothless, given to me by my rider. And yours?" Toothless asked. "She is Yona. The twin sister to your rider." Phantamsia explained.
"So, I'm going to completely ignore the fact that you held a conversation with dragons and ask a logical question: how are we going to get out of here?" Hiccup asked, going over near the cell door. "Simple." Yona said, still sitting on the floor. "What do you mean?" Hiccup asked, coming over to sit next to her. "We break out." Yona said, a smirk on under her mask. "How?" Hiccup asked, completely not following.
Yona chuckled. "I've memorized the entire layout of the island. The only way we could leave is through the arena." Yona said. "When?" Hiccup asked, starting to catch on. "When Alvin comes and gets us to try and train the dragons." Yona said, subconsciously rubbing her arm. Hiccup, noticing this, had a look of shock on his face. "You didn't try and train them, did you?" Hiccup asked. Yona simply nodded her head. "I won't train dragons for an evil cause." Yona said, standing up. "One of Alvin's men should be coming to get us soon." Yona said, heading towards the door.
