Chapter 36

The next day, the four oldest brothers of the family decided to hold a sort of meeting inside of their room, during which they talked about Grillby –and Gaster's other friends but the 'meeting' idea was mentioned because they wanted to talk about the fire bartender–. Honestly, he had left a good impression on all of them, and they could tell how much Gaster liked him. A great friend, indeed.

It didn't surprise them that much, as in other AUs, Grillby was usually Sans' best friend –or if he wasn't, he might as well be considering much time the lazy skeleton spent in the fire elemental's bar–. Sometimes even being a brother figure, or, as they already saw, a lover. It seemed therefore logic that Gaster would be good friend with the dark fire elemental.

Talking about that, despite what his dark color scheme could make people think, the bartender seemed to be a really sweet and caring guy. Which was nice; it meant that they wouldn't have to discreetly get rid of him to protect their dad... What? Wasn't that what children were supposed to do for their parent?

"I hereby declare that this Grillby is a softie. We can keep him." Demise snickered at Blade's sudden intervention, making the white dragon smirk slightly. Torment and Drako shook their heads in amusement with a small smile on their faces, not even surprised by what Blade said.

They then started to talk about the King and the Queen of this universe. They seemed to be great friends with Gaster, and didn't represent a particular threat. Which was great, as they couldn't just kill the royal couple without any consequence; the entire AU would panic without their leader, and peace would be replaced by general chaos. That and it could motivate the Humans to start another war against Monsters. Not that they didn't like chaos; they were born to cause it after all... But Gaster wouldn't like this, and they wanted their loved ones to live in a peaceful universe. In the end, they couldn't do anything against the two Goat Monsters... Not until Asriel –or possibly Chara, but logically, it should be Asriel– was old enough to reign over the continent.

"Then we have Undyne and Alphys, who we know are approximatively as old as Papy." Blade hummed at the mention of those two and continued with what they knew about them. "And we don't know much about them beside the fact that Undyne likes to throw desks through windows and that they both have a crush on each other. Which is normal for them."

Torment sighed. "Well, we can let them live for now... But if they hurt Papy or Sans, we can always give them a little... Visit, as a warning." The three brothers smirked at that. They wouldn't let anyone hurt their baby brothers. Not without a proper punishment at least. They were fully aware that they were overreacting and that children weren't a threat for their family, but they would make sure that nobody messes with their loved ones. Preferably in a peaceful way, but if it came to this, they could easily take anyone down.

"OtHErWiSE, We dIdN't MeET MaNY pErSOnS... I'M gUeSsINg ThAT nApStAbLoOk AnD HiS CoUSIn aRe ChIlDReN tOo?" They nodded in agreement. It would make sense, as Alphys wasn't old enough to create Mettaton's robotic body yet... Or maybe it was someone else's work in this AU? "MuFfEt MiGhT Be An AdUlT... I tHInk?"

"Possibly, yes. I guess we'll have to wait and see." Drako hummed in response. He didn't like not knowing how things worked here. Granted, he could look through the codes to have answers to his questions, but as stated previously, he didn't want to. They all agreed that it would be better to discover things by themselves and only check a few things in the codes occasionally.

Suddenly, Gaster opened the door and turned on the light with a smile. "Sorry to disturb your dark cult-like meeting that I want to know nothing about but it's time to eat." The four brothers laughed at the way Gaster called their little discussion. All of them agreed that it was better if he didn't know what they were talking about. Gaster didn't need to know that they were planning a possible list of people to kill and/or torture... Alright, maybe they wouldn't go this far, but still, it was nice to be prepared.

But deep inside of every of them, they were all aware that Gaster knew what they were talking about. Gaster himself, even if he tried to deny it, knew his sons well enough to know when they were planning something dangerous –whether it was for them or for others was to decide according to said dangerous thing– or chaotic. Killing people was part of those things, of course. He wouldn't even be surprised if he ever stumbled on them torturing someone. Hopefully, he wouldn't though, as his sanity wouldn't like it, but he was pretty sure that he agreed to lose it entirely when he adopted those demonic children, as if he had signed a pact with the Devil himself. Not that he regretted it, those boys were his babies now, even if they were technically older than him, and would probably go on a killing rampage if they ever learned that Gaster thought about that... Yeah, they must never know.

Torment and Drako got up from their position on the star-shaped carpet, putting Blade and Demise on their respective shoulders before following Gaster toward the kitchen, where Papyrus and Sans already seemed to be waiting. They guessed that Gaster didn't want to interrupt their 'dark cult-like meeting'... That, or he was afraid by what he would hear. Both options were possible.

They took their seat after hugging the youngest of the family and started to eat. Of course, Drako wasn't eating but it wasn't a surprise anymore, what would be a surprise would be for him to willingly eat.

The part dragon skeleton stared at the food in disdain before a small smirk appeared on his face. 'Hey Psyche, do you want to try to move things now?' He felt his Voice sibling shrug in response. "Sure, why not?"

The rest of the family eyed Drako with a bit of worry, not liking how he suddenly smirked. It wasn't like him, as usually he was mostly pouting while staring at the food as if it had personally offended him. Drako, of course, noticed that but didn't say anything to appease their worries. Why would he? It was fun to see them fear for the worst even though he didn't plan anything too bad.

He felt Psyche concentrate themselves inside of his SOUL, focusing on the thing that they wanted to move. He wanted to ask what they were trying to move, but he chose not to disturb Psyche's concentration. He instead decided to stare at the things on the table that his sibling could possibly try to move.

After a few seconds, the spoon in front of him started to suddenly float above the table. He smiled at Psyche's accomplishment, feeling quite proud of his dragon guide. Granted, it was easy to see that Psyche was having trouble with it; the spoon wasn't perfectly held in the air and was swinging slightly, shaking in different direction, and almost fell more than once.

Papyrus jumped when the spoon started floating, staring at it in shock. "Daddy, why is the spoon flying...?" Gaster finally noticed the flying spoon and gaped at it, effectively gaining the others' attention, who quickly stared at Drako, who raised both of his hands innocently. "NoT Me."

Now, they were really curious. Sans tilted his head to the side, frowning slightly. "Who is it then?" They all stared at Drako with unhidden curiosity. They knew that it was his doing; he wasn't smirking without any good reason sooner. He was obviously responsible for this floating spoon. Of course, it could have been anyone, but they all suspected Drako. "PsYcHe's tEsTiNG If THey CaN InTeRAcT wiTH ThInGs OtHeR tHaN Me."

A general chorus of 'Oooh!'s was heard in response, all of them nodding while Psyche seemed to hold it with more ease after a few seconds. They started to poke Drako's face with the spoon. "I can do it!"

'I can see that... And feel it too. Do you want to train with bigger objects? And maybe further away from me, to see if you can interact only with things close to me or not?' He felt Psyche nod happily in response, placing the spoon back on the table before grabbing Demise's bowl, making said dragon growl angrily. "Hey! Drako! Tell Psyche to give me my bowl back, I didn't finish my coffee!"

Drako snickered at the sound of Psyche letting out an exaggerated evil laugh and swinging the bowl in front of Demise's face, but too high for the dragon to actually be able to drink his coffee, making the God of Death in dragon form glare at the air around his bowl. "ThEY dOn'T SeEM tO wAnT To GiVE It BaCK."

Demise groaned, flying from his seat on the table to try to drink his damn coffee, making Psyche move the bowl away.

Thus started the fight for the mighty bowl of coffee, with Demise flying around to try to get it back while Psyche was laughing their nonexistent ass off by making sure to keep the bowl out of Demise's reach. The others just watched with mixed emotions; some being amused and some just being tired of all of this.

After a moment, Psyche tried to hold the bowl while being too far from Drako, making them let out a cry of surprise as the bowl started to fall. Thankfully, Gaster seemed to know that this would happen at some point and easily grabbed the bowl with his magic, putting it back in its first place on the table without dropping too much coffee on said table. "No more flying bowls around for today, alright?"

Drako felt Psyche nod and nodded too since Gaster couldn't see them –not like he could either, but he could at least feel them nod, unlike Gaster–. "Thank you dad!" Demise thanked and went back to his beloved coffee. "Well, I think that this answer your question, I can't interact with things too far from you. But I can actually do something!" Psyche let out a little squeal of happiness, making Drako chuckle softly. "Oh! Let me try something!"

Drako tilted his head to the side, curious about what idea Psyche could possibly have this time. He watched attentively what would happen since Psyche didn't seem to want to share what they had in mind with him.

Papyrus and Sans suddenly looked up, confused, before asking the same question at the same time. "Did someone just pet me?" Psyche squealed in happiness once again, this time hugging Drako –or at least it felt like a hug, he couldn't really be sure since Psyche didn't have a body– who just chuckled at Psyche's demonstration of happiness. "I can pet things Glitchy! I could have petted those earth wolves when we arrived!"

Drako smiled, happy for Psyche, who started to play once again with the spoon that they grabbed before. It was nice, it meant that there was an actual chance of them gaining a physical appearance –even if only ghost-like, like the Charas– in the future, which he was glad for. He really wanted to be able to see them. It would be easier to interact with them.

Once that the breakfast was done and that everything was cleaned –included the small stains of coffee from the 'fight' between Psyche and Demise–, Gaster decided to ask his sons what they would do today. "So... What are your plans for the day?"

Blade shrugged, going back on his octopus of a brother's shoulder. "We didn't plan anything, just to hang out around the jungle and maybe go into some AUs later. Or just go into an AU... No idea, we'll see." Gaster hummed in response. "Alright then, be careful."

Torment smirked at Gaster's request. "When are we not?" They all stared at him silently –well except Papyrus and Sans, who went away a bit earlier to play in their room–. All of them knew how reckless those four could be. They didn't have any sense of what danger was. Torment himself was aware of this, and they knew from his smirk that he only said that to see their reaction.

That being said, the oldest sons of the family waved at their father –who waved back, of course– and went out. "So, Psyche can touch and hold things?"

Drako shrugged. "APpArEnTLY, YeS." Blade smiled. It meant that maybe they would finally be able to interact with that Voice! How nice, they all wanted to properly talk to them, as Drako considered them as a sibling, and therefore a member of their little family. Demise groaned though, rolling his eyes and curling up around Drako's neck. "Well I'd prefer if they didn't try to play with my coffee..."

Drako only laughed in response, gently rubbing Demise's head. "... They are petting me." Drako felt Psyche nod proudly while the others chuckled at how done Demise sounded. "YeP, tHeY ArE HaPpY To Be ABlE TO TOuCH tHiNGs AnD PEoPLe." Demise rolled his eyes before mumbling 'Well they should keep their happiness away from my coffee...' under his breath. Of course, Drako heard him clearly and laughed once more.

They spent a few hours walking around aimlessly, pausing sometime to play with dragons and animals. Two of those dragons being the twins that Drako met when he first arrived; Fi and Ron. Those two, even if confused by Drako not being a dragon, could tell without a doubt that he was the dragon with who they raced a few months back, which made them quite happy and encouraged them to stay for a bit before flying away. The brothers noticed that every dragons and animals always seemed to like Drako the most. He explained it, thanks to Psyche, by the fact that he was himself partly dragon. They felt as if he was one of theirs. Of course, they also quickly accepted Demise and Blade –somehow, Torment too. He denied the fact that it was because he looked like an octopus and would stab anyone saying that–, even if with a little more time. Which was surprising, as they were true dragons now, unlike Drako who was only partly dragon.

They then went back home to eat lunch, which was rather uneventful, but gave an idea to Blade. Idea that he, of course, shared with his brothers once that they were back outside. "Hey, do you think that the crystals also exist in this Multiverse? If so, we could go search for some for Papy, Sans and dad!"

Now, that idea interested the three brothers. Those necklaces were like a link for them; bounding them as a family. It was only normal for their younger brothers and father to have one too. "This could be possible, yes, but..."

Demise asked the question that posed a problem. "In which AU did you find them in the first place?" The three stayed silent. Of course, they wouldn't remember in which specific AU it was; they found the crystals eons ago! And they were certain that they had taken all of the crystals in their old Multiverse. That was just how rare those little things were. "I... DoN'T rEmEMbER."

Torment and Blade answered with a 'Me neither...', making Demise grimace. "That's problematic... Well we could always visit the AUs that you went the most to, it could help, right?" Torment shrugged. "This is the only thing we can do to find them so... Yeah, let's do this, I guess."

That being said, they went back inside to warn Gaster that they were going into another AU –they didn't want to make the same mistake twice– and jumped in a portal leading straight to UnderSwap. Granted, it wasn't the universe in which they went the most, but they came here from time to time to visit Blue, when Stretch was too busy getting drunk in Muffet's café, or when he was in a meeting with the Council and had locked Blue in the AU. Poor skeleton would have snapped if it wasn't for their visits.

They started walking around the Ruins, easily avoiding the traps and puzzles, as they knew them by heart now. They checked each hidden places, some that even the caretakers of the Ruins in all the different AUs didn't know about, while trying not to be seen by the local Monsters but found nothing. They then teleported outside of the Ruins and chose to walk through the forest instead of taking the main path for two reasons; one, they didn't want this Blue or Stretch to see them, and two, they may have found the crystals by walking through this forest, as they often did it when they visited their blue clad friend.

They walked around for a while but didn't find anything, so they went in Waterfall. There was a lot of crystals in this cavern, no matter the AU... But none of them was the right one. They skipped Hotland, knowing fully well that it couldn't be anywhere after Waterfall. They already had doubts for the Ruins, but they were almost certain that it was either in Snowdin or Waterfall.

Not having found what they were looking for, they went to UnderFell. They went even less in this AU than in UnderSwap –but they checked anyway, as it could have been the reason why they didn't remember where they got the crystals from– and it was mostly Drako who did come, because he liked to trash the AU and steal Red's chocolate. And most of the time, he only opened portals and didn't really step in the universe, but they could always try.

Once again, they started with the Ruins, then Snowdin and Waterfall without finding anything. They did get into trouble with some Monsters wanting to pick up fights with them –they quickly regretted it and ran away– but other than that, everything went quite well.

Unsurprisingly, the next AU was Outertale. They spent a lot of time there in their old Multiverse; either alone or all together. It was a nice place to relax and have fun while enjoying the stars and planets surrounding the AU. The only disadvantage was that Outer often called Ink on them, which either resulted in them leaving or having to fight said Creator. They could understand why he did this though, and were thankful that he didn't attack them himself.

They started with the Ruins -or the Cavern, as it was this AU's name for this zone, for some reason- a third time, going faster through them as to not lose more time. If they didn't hurry, they wouldn't be able to try all the AUs that they had in mind. Granted, there was no say that they would actually find the crystals in those AUs, nor that they actually existed in this Multiverse –and if they did, someone might have already found them–, but they wanted to at least try all the AUs that they thought could be the one. There wasn't many, as they didn't go in AUs too often unless if it was to either destroy said AUs or cause havoc to spread negativity. Only professional visits, in sum.

They only ever visited AUs for fun on very specific occasions, or when the Balances weren't tipping too much toward the 'Good Side'. Which wasn't often. Damn, they really weren't paid enough for all of this. They technically weren't paid at all, they only gained money because of their kills –money that they didn't even use as they stole most of the things that they needed–. How unfair.

They, once again, didn't find what they were looking for in the Ruins and went directly toward Stardin. They started to search once more, and once more, they didn't find anything. However, the Nice Cream Guy did greet them happily after recognizing them, which made them happy.

They then went in Starfall -Waterfall's equivalent in this AU- and took the time to look at the Northen Lights that could be seen in this zone while searching for those damn crystals. They once again ended up empty handed. It was starting to get annoying and repetitive.

Demise, as much as he wanted to, wasn't helping much. He only joined them just before they crashed that damn party that was celebrating Drako's 'death' –thank Toby Fox he was never really dead, otherwise none of them would be in such a good shape. They already felt constantly bad for the ones that they lost, even if they didn't show it too much–. He didn't know where they used to hang out, only what his dear brothers talked about. It was funny though, how he felt more loved and accepted by them than he ever felt with his Papyrus; his real brother who barely acknowledged him besides when it was a matter of their respective jobs. And even then, they barely exchanged a few words.

Torment hummed, seeming lost in his thoughts, but they knew better than to think that he wasn't fully aware of his surrounding and concentrated. "Which AU should we try now?" Demise stayed silent, only providing affection to Drako while being continuously pet by an overjoyed Psyche. He got used to it by now, and could understand their enthusiasm, as he was just as clingy when he learned that he could touch people without killing them. As long as they didn't try to steal his coffee again...

"Maybe your old AU? We did visit Dreamtale a few times since it was too full of negativity for Dream to go in, and there was nobody to call Ink on us." Torment sighed. He really didn't like to go back there, and only did because his boys wanted to have fun in an AU where they wouldn't be attacked. "I... Guess that we can try. But we need to do it fast, if Nightmare is like me, he will feel that someone entered his AU."

They all nodded, knowing very well how that worked; Torment was always able to tell if someone was in his AU. Nobody knew how he could do that, as even when the person's aura was suppressed, he could still feel them. It was probably the same way that he always managed to find Drako when he tried to escape feeding time. He sighed and opened a portal leading to this Multiverse's version of his old universe, going in first with Blade and being quickly followed by Drako with Demise.

It was harder to search in this AU since the usual zones such as Snowdin or Waterfall didn't exist, but Torment knew this AU perfectly, as it was his old home. He easily guided his brothers in the universe to do their researches before Drako separated from the group with Demise after deciding that they would meet up at the dead Tree of Feelings. Of course, they were all hurrying as much as possible, not wanting to attract an angry octopus wanting to protect his old territory.

Torment must never know that they thought that, as he was the angry octopus back in their Multiverse.

Once done, they both teleported in front of the tree. Torment stared at it for a few seconds before sighing. "Did you two find anything?" They shook their heads in response. "Alright, where are we going next then?"

Torment seemed to want to get out of Dreamtale as quickly as possible, and his three brothers understood perfectly why he was so eager to go. "BiRdTalE MaYbE? I rEmEMBeR thAt tHErE wAs a CaVeRn wITh a LoT oF gEMs aNd CRyStaLs." Torment silently nodded, opening a portal toward the aforementioned AU and quickly pushing Drako inside of it at the sight of a similar portal opening.

Nightmare could only stare at the portal for less than a second before said portal disappeared, making him sigh and go back to his mansion.

Once in Birdtale, Blade spoke up. "I'm starting to realize that we often go to Birdtale since we got here..." His intervention was met with multiple sounds of agreement. With their flying training, they did visit this AU often. More than in their old Multiverse, at least.

They then started to search for the cavern that Drako mentioned. Finding it was the real challenge in all of this, but they managed after a few minutes –and the help of their dragon brothers, who flew over them to find it–. Sadly, despite the beautiful gems and crystals from all kind, color and shapes, there wasn't the crystals that they were looking for.

They sighed in disappointment, not knowing where to go next. "Any idea?" They all shook their heads, making Demise sigh once more and snuggle closer to Drako's neck.

"Need some help?" They jumped at the sound of the familiar voice and all turned toward a portal just as familiar while taking an offensive stance, observing the skeleton who came out of it. Said skeleton had raised both of his hands in an 'I mean no harm' gesture, a cheeky smile on his face.

Their eyes widened in shock as they recognized who was facing them –which wasn't really hard to tell, honestly–.

New chapter!

I almost felt too tired to edit it today and thought about doing it tomorrow... That being said, there might be more errors than usual, and I apologize for it-

Psyche is happy to be able to interact with things and the brothers are just running around the Multiverse, not even knowing if the thing that they are searching for exist here. Nice.

Since I mentioned Dias last chapter, here's a little cameo from Fi and Ron, because I can-

Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed this chapter! ^^

Lunar's out!~
