Chapter 27
Once the teenagers and their dragons were gone, Error went back to the skeletons' house. He barely had the time to fully open the door that Outer was hiding behind him while Comet was looking at him with a smile that made Error wince in sympathy. Outer clearly got scolded, and he was very happy not to be in his place.
Unknown to him, the teenagers that he was interrogating were facing the same fate with their father while trying to explain why they were away for so long and apologizing for not warning their father beforehand. Of course, they weren't that scared of him; they were Gods after all –or at least, three of them were–! But damn it, he was taking his father's role seriously. Which was nice, don't make them say what they didn't say, but he was almost scary. Of course, they ended up being grounded for a month. Oh well. They had experienced worse, so this wasn't too bad.
The Outertale brothers updated him quickly on what they learned about Torment and Drako –which honestly wasn't much, but it was still better than nothing–. Once that was done, he left the brothers to go tell everything to Nightmare and he swore that he saw Comet smile 'innocently' while looking at his brother, who was trembling in fear. He didn't want to know how long Comet was planning on scolding his brother and ran away before Outer could try to put some of the blame on him, since he himself did ask some questions that Comet would consider as insensitive.
When he arrived in Nightmare's mansion, he wasn't surprised by the chaos that he walked in. Dust, Killer and Horror decided that it was a good idea to have a weapon-throwing contest in the living room. What was the use of the training room, after all? Nightmare was nowhere to be found –probably in his office or the library, knowing this octopus– and Cross was sulking in a corner. Error tilted his head to the side and went toward Cross.
"What is wrOng Cross?" Cross looked up toward him, clearly pouting. "The mysterious chocolate stealer struck again..." Error frowned. "How many bArs are missing?"
Cross looked at him with clear confusion. "Five, why?" Realization flashed across Error's face, who suddenly burst into laughter, effectively gaining everyone's attention –even Nightmare, who came down to tell the three who were throwing weapons around to stop screaming. And preferably stop throwing their weapons, too, but the goopy skeleton had little hopes for this part–. "Why are you laughing...?"
"I think that I knOw who your chocolate stealer is... PfFt-" Cross now looked really interested and got up from his position on the floor. "Who?"
"Drako, the othEr me. I met him anD Torment and he Opened a portal at soMe point, from whIch he grabbeD five cHocolate Bars from your favorite brAnd. I wasn't surE if it was just a cOincidence or not, but appArently it wasn't oNe." Now, everyone was either interested, curious, or laughing their nonexistent asses off. Cross looked at Error with a deadpan expression. "Of course, it had to be an Error, why am I even surprise?"
"Does that mean that he knows where our hideout is?" Everyone froze in realization, eyes wide and mouths agape. How could he know?! "I... I guEss, yes..."
Dust frowned. "This is bad, if the Stars Sanses learns that he knows, they will harass them until they give them our location. And we won't be in peace no more..." Horror groaned slightly and rolled his eye at the thought of all the pranks that Ink would undoubtedly play on them if he was to find their base. "Great. Just great. Now we gotta find those kiddos before the Stars."
"I'm guessing you talked to them for a while if Drako decided to steal chocolate?" Error shrugged. "Yeah, almoSt an hoUr."
Now, that gained Killer's attention, who ran at Error, looking like an excited puppy. "So?! How are they?!" He was probably one of the most curious of the gang about the two new additions in their Multiverse. "They sEemed calm. A bit distrusTful, but calm either wAy. They weren't scAred of me, even though Outer and Comet had told them about NightMare and I. I'm not sure if thIs is a good thing, since that mEans they don't feel threaTened by us, either because thEy are strong enouGh to actually put up a fight, or becauSe they think we won't attacK them. I'm not sure which oNe is best. And no Dust, you wOn't try to fight them."
Said skeleton groaned in response, muttering curses under his breath. He wanted to see if they were strong, damn it! Cross snickered, muttering something about Errors and their love for Outertale, making Error glare at him playfully. Nightmare rolled his eye at the sight of Dust pouting and crossing his arms like a child. "Great. Did they tell you their AU's name? Any information that could help us find them? Or just things about them?"
Error shook his head at the first question and shrugged for those after. "They didn't tell me much abOut their AU, as they apparently don't wAnt unneeded attEntion. I know that tHey had a rough childhOod though." That information made most of them raise a brow curiously. "They didn't tell me Much, but just the fact that Drako's body is coVered from head to toes in Scars is enough to know thEy weren't trEated well." All of their eyelights went out at that, unless for Killer, whose eyesockets were perpetually devoid of eyelights. He was covered in scars?! Who can be sick enough to cause that?! They fought the Star Sanses at least once a week and they barely had any scars, just a few bruises here and there!
"Yeah, I know, it sounDs bad, and it is. I'm guessing that he aNd his brother were badly abuSed before Gaster found Them. His voice is aLso way more glitched thaN mine, surprisingly Enough. I'm guessing Torment alSo have some scars at least. Hard to telL with his goOp." He glanced at Nightmare after saying that, receiving a look from the octopus King, before continuing. "Anyway, I lEarned that the Gaster of their AU adopTed them, that their peTs are fucking draGons." He paused, listening to his friends' gasp of shock and admiration at the mention of the dragons. "They don't know if theRe are other skeletons in their AU but Torment assUred me that he didn't have a Dream. By the way, they Kept giving Dream insultiNg nicknames like 'living banAna', for exAmple. I don't know what thEy have against him, but theY had fun taLking about him with weird names."
Nightmare let out a sigh of relief at the confirmation that a second ball of positivity wouldn't run around the Multiverse. He and the gang chuckled at the nickname given to Dream.
Error continued to explain everything that he learned to them, adding Outer and Comet's information in the process. Truly, it wasn't much and they practically had the same information as him, but it was better than nothing. It only took a few minutes to resume everything, but all of the gang seemed really interested by the two teenagers, almost not cutting him off while he was talking, which was rather impressive in itself; the gang usually couldn't let someone talk without cutting them off.
"So, Drako enjoys Outertale like you, huh?" Error nodded with a small smile, muttering that it was normal since the view was awesome. "Then I guess that we could check Outertale from time to time in hope of meeting them... Or just hope to see them in a random AU. If we find them, I want you to try and convince them to follow you to the mansion. We absolutely need to be sure that they won't tell our location to the Star Sanses."
They all nodded before Dust suddenly raised his hand. "Hey, if they know our hideout's location, shouldn't they also know the Star Sanses'?" Most of the skeletons' eyes widened in surprise before Error nodded. "Yes, I gueSs it'S possible."
While Dust, Horror and Cross started to plot how to make them say where the Star Sanses were hiding –clearly planning to prank them if they ever found out–, Killer tilted his head to the side curiously. "Are we even sure that they know where our hideout is? I mean, all this 'chocolate stealing' thing could be just a big coincidence, don't you think?"
Cross shook his head. "I doubt it. It's too big to be just a coincidence, even the time lapse correspond." Killer shrugged. "But they don't even know about us? How did they find out where the mansion is? And specifically Cross' chocolate stash, which is always hidden in weird and random places, might I add."
Cross threw his hands in the air in an offended way. "It wouldn't be if Error stopped stealing my chocolate! And it's not 'weird and random' enough, since he still always manages to find it either way!" Error chuckled and looked at Cross 'innocently'. "I will always find it, no mAtter where you hide it. It's my chOcolate senses talking."
The monochrome skeleton rolled his eyes, knowing that it was sadly true. Error always managed to find his chocolate. He tried to hide it on Ink once, for Toby Fox's sake! Even that wasn't enough! And Ink didn't tell Error since he himself didn't remember it! "I'll find a place where you won't ever find it one day..." He grumbled in annoyance while the glitchy skeleton shook his head with a smile, knowing that it wouldn't happen any time soon.
Unknown to them, four brothers were watching the whole discussion while preparing for their next Multiversal trip... When their punishment would be finish, of course. They could just go now, if they wanted to; their father couldn't really stop them after all. But they wanted to be 'good kids'. Gaster wasn't obligated to adopt them, even after knowing the truth about them. He wasn't constrained to welcome them into his house and family. But he did, and just for that, they wanted to make him happy and be good 'children'... Even if this title irked them quite a lot.
And they needed to spend time in their AU anyway. They now had a proper home and they were going to enjoy every second of their new life in it. Fuck you Inky, they were happy and the Creator wouldn't be able to ruin everything this time!
They still had trouble registering how much they gained by jumping into the Void, but they felt as if it was one of the best decision that they ever made, when it really shouldn't be. Well Drako didn't really chose actually. He planned to do it but stopped and would have chosen to just let Ink destroy everything while staying with his family. That is, if that Squid didn't push him into the Void. Oh well, maybe he should thank him for being an asshole this time.
Eh, who was he kidding? He won't ever thank that stupid Creator for anything, even if his life depended on it. Which wasn't even possible anyway, as he was immortal.
They closed the one-way portal –nicely called 'stalker portal' by Blade, apparently– and looked at the two children on Drako and Torment's laps, who wanted to see what their older brothers were watching. They had grown more attached to those two than what they first expected. Honestly, at first, they didn't plan on getting attached, but what could they do when they lived with those literal walking ball of purity? They were naturally loveable, damn it!
That's how, one day, Torment ended up holding Papyrus –on whom Sans was sleeping at the moment– with a tentacle and glaring at an adult while repeatedly patting the Babybone on the head with another tentacle. Somehow, he was still impressive despite the clearly adorable gesture that left all his brothers in awe. Of course, when Gaster was done laughing at how protective the goopy skeleton was of his youngest, he was extremely touched by the gesture. Torment suffered from comment about this for a week, making him want to stab anyone in his path. Thankfully, he refrained himself from actually doing so.
Drako wasn't any better, honestly. He somehow became Papyrus' favorite ride; the little skeleton often wanted to be carried on his shoulders or to ride on his back while he was in dragon form. Drako had no problem with carrying the little one around, as he was at least sure that Papyrus was safe when he was with him. He could never be too sure since the kidnapping accident with Blade and Demise.
They spend the rest of the day playing with their two younger brothers, who were quite happy with it, under Gaster's watchful gaze. He knew that they wouldn't run away, and that if they tried, he wouldn't be able to do anything anyway, but he liked to see all of his children play together. It always managed to warm up his SOUL.
They also helped them do their homework. Gaster did try to send the two teenagers to school, but the two just looked at him as if he was the dumbest person that they ever met –they comforted him by telling him that he really wasn't afterward– before explaining how much it was useless and why. Let's just say that Gaster was pretty much convinced that those children knew more than him with all his researches... Which shouldn't even surprise him actually, considering the fact that they were eons old –he tended to forget that fact; they didn't look that old!–, but it still did.
It was hard to believe that they were older than he was when they were acting like total dumbasses most of the time –not just any type of dumbasses; murderous dumbasses with a certain passion for committing arson–, but it was true. And it hurt his ego more than it should, if he was being honest.
What he didn't expect, though, was for his sons to be bored to the point that they asked to follow him to his laboratory. And this was exactly what was happening currently.
"You want to accompany me...?" Drako smiled and nodded while Torment hummed in response, seeming bored. "Why?"
"In case you couldn't see, we are bored. And since we can't go to another AU, and I doubt you would like it if we let Blade find a way to entertain us, we want to come with you. Walking around the jungle all the time became quite annoying. Granted, we didn't visit most of the surrounding villages, but we flew around almost the entire continent. So we thought to ask you if we could come." Torment shrugged, saying this as if it was perfectly logical and Gaster was weird to ask.
Gaster looked at Blade, remembering that it was his idea to set the shed on fire back on the first days after the accident –and all the times that he suggested to burn things for fun–, and nervously chuckled. "Yeah, no, I don't want to know what kind of entertainment Blade could come up with..."
Drako nodded approvingly. "YeAh, yOu rEalLy doN'T. It WOuLd Be BeSt FoR yOUr saNiTY. TrUsT mE." Blade tilted his head to the side, looking at them innocently. "I don't know whether to be offended or proud by what you're all implying."
"I personally would be damn proud!" Drako sighed and rolled his eyes. 'And that's exactly why you're not an example to follow.' Psyche let out an offended gasp while Blade started to gaze blankly at the wall, most likely responding to a comment that his Chara made through their bound. Seeing him frown, Drako guessed that he decided to talk about one of Blade's famous stupid idea to entertain himself which most often than not resulted in the mansion being on fire and pure chaos all around the Multiverse. A bored Blade was a dangerous Blade; they all grew to learn that.
Gaster sighed. "I guess that you can come, as long as you don't terrify my coworkers by showing them how stupid they are compared to you all..." Torment chuckled and shook his head. "No promises~"
"Pretty sure that we are going to traumatize them if they make fun of us for being 'children' or something." Demise giggled once he was done talking, already imagining the faces their father's coworkers would make if they decided to play with them a little. Which, sadly for those poor SOULs, was more probable than not.
"That's exactly what I'm afraid of... But I'm guessing that you just asked to be polite and that you will come either way?" They all just smile in response. "Of course you will... Alright, let's go then I guess. Just let me grab some things."
He then turned around and went back to his room to take some of his documents. Documents that his sons obviously already read at some point. Somehow, they always managed to find everything that they searched for, even when the thing was hidden. It was mostly Drako who was finding everything, but Blade assured him that he had experience as a chocolate stealer. Sometimes they even found things that were hidden without searching for them. Gaster had no idea how he would hide their presents for birthdays and Christmas, and he knew that his growing panic was amusing Torment.
"Dadster is starting to know us, huh?" Drako chuckled and shook his head. "He mOsTlY NOtICeD HoW ChAoTiC aND dAnGErOUS yOU CoUlD Be, BlADE." The mostly white dragon shrugged with a smirk present on his face. "Same thing for me."
None of them reacted at the nickname that Blade gave to Gaster since they were used to it by now. They also started to call him 'dad' more often and, surprisingly, it wasn't that disturbing anymore. It will always be, of course, since they could be his damn ancestors, but they were slowly starting to get used to it.
Gaster soon came back, a bag hanging at his side, in which the teenagers guessed that the documents were neatly organized. They soon realized that Gaster was not a messy person, which was nice because Torment didn't feel like monitoring him like he did with his children of brothers in their old Multiverse.
"Alright, we can go now, if you're ready?" The four of them turned their heads toward Gaster, who was slowly descending the stairs, and nodded. Gaster smiled and went out, soon followed by his army of chaotic adopted children. His biological sons were long since dropped at school for the day.
They soon started walking toward the village where his lab was, the Gods and their dragons following Gaster since they weren't sure in which one Gaster's lab was. The walk was animated by the family talking about random subjects, going from the next AU that they would visit to how much chaos they would create in the lab. Gaster was almost certain that he heard Blade mention something about defenestrating people and putting things on fire.
Suddenly, he wasn't sure that bringing his kids at work was a good idea.

For some reason, it's getting harder to keep a regular updating schedule despite the chapters only needing to be edited-
The gang is now certain that the brothers know where the base is. And Cross is done with people stealing his chocolate-
We're soon going to reach a part of the story that I really don't like but still needed to do something. Nothing bad, don't worry, but I just don't like it-
I'm now going to die and question the meaning of life. :D
Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed this chapter! ^^
Lunar's out!~
